How special of you to make something for your wife that you are not fond of. My husband did the same for me when I was going through cancer treatments 20 years ago. He was such a blessing. We are now 77-78 and celebrated our 55th anniversary. Prayers for healing and a long, loving marriage for the two of you. Nana and GranPa in Texas

My mom has made this every year since I can remember. 50+ years at least. I'm with you....forget the nuts! She uses walnuts, but will make one for my brother and me without any. She bakes it on parchment paper and rolls it in a tea towel, but she dusts the towel lightly with powdered sugar. After it's all done, she sprinkles just a bit more powdered sugar on the top. Makes it pretty and tasty!

That's exactly how I make mine for about 45 years. I like to use the flour sack dish towels. They are smooth and never a speck of lint. I recently ordered a dozen of them from amazon.

That's the way I made it, too. It's easier for me to sprinkle a cotton dish towel with powdered sugar and roll up towel and all, until it cools completely. I think it helps keep the cake from cracking that way, too. I guess it doesn't matter, because it's still good no matter how it's made.

The pumpkin roll looked so good! My husband grew up eating them. His mother made "yellow cake" with pineapple preserves or grape jelly in them. So good. But I have never been brave enough to make one. It looks easy! She would roll hers up with powdered sugar on it in a tea towel. Then unroll it, remove the towel and put in the filling. Looked so complicated! Thank you for showing a much easier way. 🧡💛🍂🍁💛🧡

This one looks easy enough I could even try it!
I only ever make jalapeno poppers for Christmas, two types of shredded cheese and fold it into four big bars of room temp cream cheese and spoon the mixture into big jalapenos cut in half and wrapped with long thin strip's of bacon (toothpicks opt)placed on a drip grid over half sheet at 450 for awhile then 10-15 on broil to crisp up the bacon real good.

My Appalachian Pippa was a Mennonite minister. Pumpkin rolls, divinity, peanut butter rolls and Whoopee pies. My mouth is watering.🐱🐈🐶

That looks great! I may have to add that to our fall deserts.
