Yes because for transportation via ships, Izmit port is being used since most of the factories are located ar the eastern/asian side or the city. The cities traffic problem is already unsolvable, in order to avoid more truck traffic, transportation is via Gebze and Izmit.

It is not fair to say that this straight is narrow because the longest suspension bridge looks like it could collapse in the middle because it is too long. I think that people should create an island in the middle to support that bridge. Still I think that improvement needs to be made to this land route between Europe and Asia.

Who said that the Bosphorus divides continents? It is just a strait. It is even the narrowest strait in the world.
Officially the European continent geographically ends at the Bosphorus while the Asian continent begins at the other end.
because Europe is not real continent.They draw east borders end in bosphorus and mt.Ural
