The birds are an important topic for Colombia as since some years Colombia is known as the country with most bird species in the world. We are currently close hitting 2,000 and this is remarkable as there are between 9,000-10,000 bird species worldwide. Over 20% can be found in Colombia. Is that great or great?
They are not restoring, it is to protect the buildings from damage as we have some social unrest and demonstrations since April 28.
Monserrate is only closed for walking up the trail on Tuesdays. The cable car and top is open.
Thanks for your good promotion of Colombia and come back.
Safe trip!
Frank
That’s amazing. I’ve just added Colombia to my list. How expensive is Colombia?
@@Craig_Black Extremely cheap mate. Colombia is stunningly affordable for everybody. There are a lot of budgets that fit someone's wallet.
It is also the country with most butterfly species in the world.
Correct. A lot of birds
I've lived in Bogotá for over 3 years and just happened upon your video. Nice video. You did Bogotá justice. I've talked to people from around the world who still think that Colombia is a dangerous place. It is definitely underrated and is a great place to visit. I've been to most of the major areas of Colombia and I would recommend any place. The people are warm, helpful, and kind.
Gracias por tus bonitas palabras hacia colombia🇨🇴♥️ thanks my friend🙋♂️
I agree totally, I was told to beware in the Columbia also. I have been to Cartagena and Bogotá in 2022, and the police are everywhere, the people are unbelievably nice and helpful, and I will definitely return here. Bogotá is a huge city with lots to see and do here!
Thank you for your kind words about Bogotá, is really a very cosmopolita city. Greetings from ATL
I really love my stay at Bogota Colombia, being from a small town in Tennessee this was very excited for me, and my friends and new friends treated my like a king can't wait to go back for Christmas and to put that ring on her finger 🥳🥳🥳🥳
So... did you put the ring on her finger? :P
I met my wife in Bogota in 2010 and lived there until 2012, your video brought back many great memories. I lived in the Centro and helped run a hostel that no longer exists, Chocolate Hostel. I seriously recommend visiting Colombia, the country is very beautiful but the people are are the true treasure. Such warm, loving and welcoming people.
What ever happened to useful videos that would show multiple places to stay and their prices... Remember the digital nomad videos from Chaing Mai in 2015 - 2018..? That was worth watching not this crap... Or at least do a vid that has utility value like show places to rent and their prices...
P00l.
They are the treasure but most of the treasure is rotten corrupted manipulated by dictators and they love it is call the Uridevils the kills they own people
@@DavidRamirez-qw3jp hahaha you're Colombian right?
@@NicholeRojas-r8i yes
I love Bogota. Went there twice from the Scotland. The weather appealed to me!
Short and sweet...liked the video guys! Colombia is definitely on my travel hit list!! Cheers!!
You're going to love it
Lindo Bogotá, saludos desde república Dominicana 🇩🇴😘
My impressioin from a few years ago was that Bogata was that it was very clean and modern city.
Wow, what a beautiful and colorful city. The setting is stunning.
It really does look nice but think how much nicer it would look without all that terrible graffiti everywhere.
@@vitocorleone8323 agreed, in particular around the center of the center because violent protests and aggressive leftist groups; ,he opinions is general, those graffiti are ugly.
@@BETOETE Graffiti is a big part of Bogotá culture, we are not ashamed of it.
@@carlosa.hurtado8847 The nice graffiti looks like art but the cheap looking scratch graffiti cheapens the effect of the nice graffiti. There's the same cheap looking graffiti in Italy and Germany too. New York got rid of it and looks much better now.
That was a pleasant surprise. Bogota is beautiful and I was amazed at how clean the streets were. Thanks for sharing.😎
You guys need to explore Colombia. Definitely have to go back. Beautiful and very good prices. 😍
Hola
I am so glad that you got the chance to be in my country! I never imagined seeing you in a place that wasn't Caribbean lol. You are welcome in Colombia again! I recommend you to be guided by the videos of Alanxelmundo if you want to stay a month or two. You must visit Cartagena de Indias, Islas del Rosario, Tintipan, Isla Palma, Barú, Medellín, Jardín, Guatapé, Bogotá, San Andres Island and Providencia, Zipaquirá (Where you can visit a Cathedral made of salt located in an underground mine), Tunja, Villa de Leyva, Santa Marta, Tayrona, Minca, Ciudad Perdida, Bucaramanga, San Gil, Cañon de Chicamocha, Cali, Barranquilla, Leticia (Colombian amazonas where you can see monkeys, jungle and pink dolphins), Tatacoa Desert, Cabo de la Vela, Palomino, watch big blue whales at pacific ocean from Chocó, Eje cafetero, visit a coloful river called "Caño Cristales" .... And don't forget to try our delicious food and fruits! Greetings!! Can't wait to go for the first time to Brazil! Love your content and your good energy.
What a good list of places, totally recommended!!!
My dream trip is to Colombia. I don't know why but I love this place so much. I'm from Brazil so it's pretty close. I want to visit Bogotá, Cali, Medellín and Cartagena.
Always welcome!
Go to the coffee area too, trust me it is beautiful.
Bem vindos sempre
I dont recommend you visiting Cali. Is way to dangerous. You can visit Pereira, Manizales and Armenia instead; is the heart of Colombia; Cofeteer Axe.
Popayan is another interesting town; two hours south roadtrip from Cali.
Welcome to my city all the times :)
One of my favourite countries. I miss Bogota and Medellin. I wanna go back soon when things go back to normal. I would love to visit the countrysides and beautiful Pueblos.
Jaaaaaaaa Colombia the only country in South and Central America, with the Pacific Ocean, the Amazon jungle and the Caribbean Sea .. desert .. Guajira ufffffff there are a lot of things to do in my beautiful country 💛💙❤
Only Soth American Country....
Very interesting look at Bogota.Have never seen a video from there.Loved the historic district walk, the museum and its interesting pre-Colonial artifacts, and the vivid colors of everything against the grey backdrop of a rainy day.Nice snapshot of another place to put on ur list for further exploration! See u in San Paolo.
Sao Pablo*
How cool that you guys aprovecharon this opportunity, however small, to get to see a bit of Colombia and to share it with us! Thank you so much! Colombia is definitely on my list of places to visit, and Bogota for sure
Love the gold museum.
It is one of the most visited museums in the world and is beautiful
Spain stole a part but whatever
We found your channel when you guys were traveling in Mexico but have enjoyed watching you travel the Caribbean and look forward to your next adventure in Brazil. But what a treat for you to take us onto the streets of Bogotá. Absolutely beautiful video- love your energy; you guys are so chilled 😄Keep up the great work
Bogota seems to be a very hospitable city, i like its combination of new and old and how they preserve their architecture like those balconies at the beginning of the video.....the food made me hungry, but pissed me off the grafiti 'artists'...apparently the council have designated areas where they can exhibit their art, however there are still a few who don't respect the rules. Great video of a beautiful city!
Hey, I'm from Colombia, and I love that you came to Bogotá, although I don't live in Bogotá but in another city, I hope you are delighted
So happy you stopped in Bogota and experienced it briefly, you need to go back and stay a while. I love the City. I will be moving back there soon .
Nice pit stop! I spent a month or so in Bogota a couple years ago. The streets look surprisingly deserted compared to when I was there. I found Colombia much more modern and with many fewer indigenous people than I expected compared to other S. American cities/ countries that I have visited. No offense, but I'm also surprised that Brazilians do not know more about Bolivar. PS My pix with the llama was taken just off the main square.
The more indigenous countries in South America are Peru and Bolivia. If you want to see a lot of native Americans that's the place to go. The rest of countries have way more significant European ancestry
If you went to Bogotá and expected to see indigenous people, you went to the wrong place. In Bogotá, most of the people are white/mestizos, if you want to see indigenous people from Colombia, go to the southern part of the country.
I guess it’s the best lay over spent time!! So nice I never been in colombia, i wish to see more hopefully one of those days… thanks for sharing!!!👍🏼😎🇵🇷
Que emociòn ver de nuevo Colombia aunque sea una pequeña parte ; gracias por elegir viajar alla..mi pescado mi comida favorita tengo años que no la pruebo😢💖🇨🇴

Hola ...mi wasat
Really nice that you get into Colombia 🇨🇴 guys! A really beautiful, competitive, and high growing country with amazing people. Bogotá is indeed a huge, modern, and high cultural city 🏙 with a lot of interesting spots and places to explore, but if you are staying for a long period of time, I highly suggest you to visit a bunch of other interesting a beautiful Colombian cities 🏙 such like Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Bucaramanga, Santa Marta, Manizales, Pereira, Armenia, Ibagué, Pasto, Neiva, Popayán, etc... Colombia is HUGE to explore and discover, I hope you enjoy your visit! 🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴
Enjoy your videos. I'm the guy who told you that H is silent in Vayahive. Since then I went to Viva Wyndham Dominicus, after watching your video. My first time there was 30 years ago. Also after watching your video about Bogota, Colombia, I actually booked a trip to Bogota. I was totally surprised the round trip from NYC to Bogota is only $274 US dollar, going there in October. I am retired and planning to do a lot of traveling. Thanks
The beauty has no boundaries in this video....
Your upload is irresistible.
My words are less to describe it.
I love how vibrant colors are in your video!!!
Looking Gorgeous and you made my day.
I love those mountains surrounding Bogota.
I only have been at the airport on transit to Cartagena. That's a place you should have on your future plans to travel to Colômbia.
And much cleaner than Barranquilla.
You seem more relaxed in the cooler weather. Beautiful city.
Not sure if you two visited the San Nicolas section of Aruba, but the street art displayed there was inspired by the street art in Bogota. 🎨🖼🖌
Thank you so much for making the most of your stop-over and sharing it with all of us! I really enjoyed the Museum and was surprised they allowed filming of such unique items! Also loved seeing the rain and the story about how people often carry umbrellas around :) Your views are inspirational... make me want to travel even more than I already do.
People says Bogota is the coldest city in Colombia, but you guys arrived unfortunately on one of the coldest months of the year, you can say “winter” start in august, rain mostly and from November the weather takes up all over the country and tourism season starts, that’s why the lack of people around. But Bogota can get hot as up to 30 degrees on summer. Next time the best months for warm weather would be between November to July most parts of the country ;) I really hope u come back with better time to visit this beautiful country!!! :D
Wow, I was there in march 2020 in the beginning and end of my colombian trip. Got the last flight out, if not I would have been the stuck. Love Bogota. I am like you so surprised that it was so empty (La Candelaria). Maybe it was early in the day. Well worth your effort with that little time and focus on the most colorful part.
You definitely need to go back! The northern coast is spectacular!
Heading to Colombia for carnaval in Feb 2022! Awesome video!
So glad you guys are in Colombia. I’ve been wanting to go and now I can see what it’s like! Put Santa Marta on your list!
I’ve been to bogota and Santa Marta and loved it and coming back again by November
Thanks for liking my Country Colombia 🇨🇴
You’ll love Colombia
Thanks for the contents guys, really beautiful out there.
I live in Cali Colombia and am haapy to see you guys pay some attention to Colombia. Check out Jardin, and Guatape. They are very colorful cities. Maybe on your next visit. Also Isla San Andres is worth a visit. While there take a trip to the Aquario.
Thank you for all your videos. I really enjoyed this video, I am from Colombia but I have not been the places you have visited in Bogota. I love it, thanks for allow us to travel with you in each video
WOW you guys were super lucky. Those streets are usually super busy. It looks so nice! I kind of miss walking those streets! :)
Very beautiful
Hi Chris & Carol thanks for another great video in Bogotá can’t wait to see Brazil. Keep up the good work no1 youtubers
Rio! Rio! CARNIVAL!!! Jumping Places brings Carnival to UA-cam! ...this is where Carol is gonna shine...it's her home, her neighborhood.{Finally, Carol's gonna dance.....}
Don't miss your flight! ...get too far from the airport and a traffic jam ruins everything.
4:20 -> Wow! A 3 section tandem bus...never seen that before...no corners on that route.
5:25 -> 'Muerte a Patriarcado' = 'Death to Patriarchy' ...makes sense. Best, most intense street art in the world-> King and Queens Ave in Toronto, Canada.
20:01 -> Thousands of years ago a fisherman from China got caught in a storm and landed on the shores of this continent.....the rest is history......
22:24 -> Amazing deal.....too good to be true.....
Columbia seems so neat hope yr having a good time in Brazil

Fantastic tour! Thank you!
Look forward to you visiting the city of eternal spring, Medellin. So many travellers fall in love with Medellin and the surrounding areas and decide to live there for awhile. Hope Brazil and time with families are blessed :)!
I have never seen Bogota's Downtown as empty as that! You guys were lucky!
We are really excited that you two are in Colombia. You give a detailed and balanced account of everywhere you go, and we are really looking forward to your travels in Colombia. You are a model for how we want to do things on our channel once we start travelling; thanks again!
Nice video… by the way, the black covers you guys saw in “plaza Bolivar” is really to protect the buildings from people throwing paint (specially ping pong balls filled with paint) during protests.
I wouldn't mind if one day there were many more Colombia posts.
I really started to love you guys. And became addicted to your videos. You guys seems really similar minded persons to us (My Gf & I) at least based on your videos :) ((Myself running a tiny channel as well...Tho my vids are not at your level (hopefully yet), but trying my best to organize life, in order to be able uploading more.)) Very excited for the Brazil videos. As I spent there a good month back in 2019 taking my Mom to our never seen relatives living in Rio for her 60'th Birthday present. So I had a chance to discover all around Brazil a bit. But gonna be so good to see content from you guys, as introducing your own home country. (I would love to see you guys hiking Pico do Papagaio at Ilha Grande. :D :D Who knows...you guys may do! ) Wishing you a quality time spending close to the relatives after a big gap! Keep it up!
Hello, great explanation of what's going on there.. This is really interesting. Keep sharing but be safe.👍
Bienvenidos a Colombia! 👍🏻
Bogota is nice place. Enjoy your travel!!
Great video guys. Thanks for the quick intro to Bogota!!
Great video by the way. I had 5 weeks in Colombia. 2 months would make a great adventure.
You couldn’t see a lot of Bogota but it is good when a foreign see this beautiful city and how it to the world you have to come back and enjoy all the things that Bogota has for everyone because Bogota is a huge good video ;)
beautiful Colombia ❤
Colombia just went through a hectic period a few months ago. Lots of protests about the Covid-19 lockdowns. That maybe the reason for a lot of the buildings clean up.
Congrats. Excellent video from Bogota, my city. Hope to see you here again.
I've been there and historical downtown is so beautiful and interesting the people the food everything and Montserrat mountain is beautiful as well the view is amazing l really enjoy Bogota and zipaquira its salt cathedral is amazing regards from Juarez Mexico
Gold on a sea-snail... Wow! 😲
Omg Chris I always wanted to see Sou Paulo. It’s on my bucket list. Will so look forward to that video. Let me know usual things like the cost of hotel, food etc and things to do. Safe flight
Yes, La Candelaria is a very historical area. However, just north of downtown is Chapinero, the artsy, trendy and gay area of Bogota. Here you'll find nice cafes, restaurants, breweries, clubs and boutiques like Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co. and Dolce and Gabbana. The popular Zona Rosa/Zona T is also located in Chapinero. North of Chapinero is Usaquen, a wealthier area with nicer high-rise apartments/homes and upscale shopping/restaurants. Usaquen is also a foodie hotspot. West of Usaquen is Suba. Suba has residential suburbs with beautiful country roads scattered with flower farms, golf courses, and country clubs. North of Usaquen is Chia, a beautiful suburb with restaurants, cafes and lots of shopping. As you can see, you'll need much more time to explore beautiful Bogota. Thanks for visiting Colombia!
Thank u for taking us in your trips 👍😍🍻
wow! Bogota is great city
From the videos i have watch it seems like the Philippines is the missing country in South America. The names of places, people, architecture, people ways of living are pretty match similar. I am loving all these vlogs and makes me think to travel there. Brazil might ber a good start since Filipinos are free visa for 90 days!
Yeah Philippines is like the South American country of Asia haha
it is because its common spanish viceroyalty history, shared with all HispanoAmerica.
Thanks for another great video... safe travels in Brazil!
The big Bean is an "Haba". It's delicious. Welcome to Bogotá. A lot of amazing places to visit
Another great video! You two rock!

The strong of bogota more than its tourist dimension is the living in the city for a life proyect, specially in its north zone
The "big"bean looking thing" is called "haba", and yes, it is from the beans familly. Great video.
Never seen those streets that empty and I have lived in Bogota my entire live. Tuesdays is not touristic at all and even wost if its a rainy day like that one. So unfortunate :(
Very informative video. I hope Chris and Carol will definately plan to visit Pakistan and visit historical places of my country.

Bogota is total Tartarian Empire....Funny how the controllers come up with all the different names for style, Gothic, Roman, Byzantine, Georgian,Victorian and so on. Great seeing the old Tart buildings there. Also all those churches were converted to churches after the take over by the evil ones. They were generators of free power for everyone and there were no such things as fire places. They were centers for heat but not from burning wood. You have a really good travel channel. Thanks for going so many places. Well done!
Great! It felt like I was there too.
