Appears to be a Hopkins & Allen arms company modle "XL" double action. I base this off of the octaginal barrel, loading gate, cylinder retaining pin, and Obtuse shape of the trigger guard. My great grandpa restored ALL kinds of stuff.sold maybe 5% of it when Grandma would yell enough.he said he did it because it made him happy and kept his mind and hands busy. When he passed the amount of stuff had to go thru was INSANE what was even crazier was the value of some of the items😮 we didn't sell them tho.took almost 5yrs to find the right museums or collectors. Dad said it wouldn't been an insult to his memory if we sold them because he said so many times it wasn't about the money
I'm not even into guns but as someone else pointed out you can just switch off from the world and get stuck into a fantastic video like this. Definitely one of my liked videos. Thank you
Well done!!!! I was so sceptical a first. There are so many fakes out there that use spray on rust and this finishedproduct turns out better than new. I love how you did not bring this back to brand new. I am sure you could have. Looking at the finished product; one can tell that this revolver has a story to tell. Once again; a fantastic authentic job.

This wasn't a "restoration", it was a "Resurrection of the Dead" !!! Great job, from a fellow antique furniture restoration craftsman. I know that's not quite the same thing as what you are doing, but the skill, patience and ingenuity was not lost on me, again "Great Job"!
The amount of work this took, and much had to be added back via welding makes me think it would have been easier to melt it down, add more metal to the crucible and recast the parts to rebuild it. You managed to restore so much more than I thought you would be able to when I first saw what you started with, I'm impressed by the dedication.
This is amazing, I’ll be honest I had initially thought it was going to be one of the numerous fake restorations on UA-cam, but no this is a real one! You took something which looked beyond repair and completed a through restoration! Well done!!

The dedication to see it through and the faith in ones own talents is admirable in this day and age with people lacking the attention and patience most wanting instant reward for very little effort your skill level is a prime example that anything is achievable by bringing this piece literally back from an almost certain grave! Excellent work! job well done is an understatement I just hope this encourages more people to learn.

A truly monumental work!! An unrecognizable weapon is meteorically transformed by a great Master of restoration!! A real beauty!! Here in Lima Capital!!
Hopkins and Allen has a loading cut out, this one has a loading gate. The cylinder flutes go to the end of the cylinder on H&A this one looks more like the belgian revolvers or the webley
I think it resembles the 1884 Colt SAA Sherrif model, 45 caliber Colt, 4 1/4'' octagon barrel. That single action revolver's barrel had a tall sight and the left side was engraved ".45 colt". The hammer was bright while the body color had a heat-rainbow pattern from case hardening. The absence of an ejector rod or housing with a blackpowder style base pin seen here is typical of what was called the "Shopkeepers" model.
Nope, it's a Belgian Bulldog. There were a few variants but there is one that looks exactly like this one. look at the unique mechanism in front of the cylinder.
I have no word to say, when I was see your video's thumbnail I was not sure that you fix it,but when I started to watch the video,I realised that you can, and you have done it very well, look at the condition of this,no one can fix it,it's a garbage and just a piece of iron, but you and your skills are amazing,I really liked it, nice 👍
Could definitely be wrong but it looks like a colt model 1877 double action either a lightning (.38 cal) or the thunder (.41 cal) they have a unique handle mount.
I watch this sort of thing as a kind of "therapy" to recover from news and general public madness in the media. I find watching someone restore something hopeless to a state of beauty and utility soothing and inspiring. You are amazing.

Amazing work, simply amazing. You're going to make that person who wielded that pistol 140 years ago in 1884 really proud the way you brought it back to life 💯💪🏿
John Wilkes Booth is giving this a thumbs up.
Se não matou alguém, pode ter morrido com ela na mão.
You can really see the love and dedication he has for what he’s restoring. He’s not hurrying to get content out, he’s just making something beautiful again and recording the process
What an interesting time we live in. Before UA-cam and the rise of these types of video there was not likely ever a situation in which someone would invest this much time and effort into such a project no matter the skill level. It just wouldn’t have been worth it. Now people have the opportunity to make money exercising their skill set and many thousands of people get to marvel at the process. Awesome job, man.
Good point
Actually historic restoration has happened long before UA-cam.
Dad said it wouldn't been an insult to his memory if we sold them because he said so many times it wasn't about the money
looks like a belgum made brittish bull dog
I'm not even into guns but as someone else pointed out you can just switch off from the world and get stuck into a fantastic video like this. Definitely one of my liked videos. Thank you
Good job. Congratulations
As a car enthusiast and restorer I’ve got nothing but mad respect for this guys skills and patience .
Gives me hope to restore my Jaaag !
@@westboundbadger Yes, best regards 😀👋.
So easy on the eye ! It was a real pleasure to watch the operation of this beautiful mechanism ! Thanks ! Your videos keep getting better.
Now this is the real restoration! Good job, Sir. Sending love from the Philippines ❤️
I have been in the steel fab trade for the last 10 years. That was a hell of a lot of work ! Your Patience and attention to detail are phenomenal! Great job!
That's not a restoration, that's a miracle

Wow! Incredible restoration of this gun. You did a fantastic job. True Craftsman 😊
I really enjoyed watching you turn a hunk on rust into a very beautiful gun. Thanks for sharing your video with us. Looking forward to seeing your next one. 😊
Take care and stay warm
Greetings from Fairfield California USA
Thank you friend!
You like Fainor in JJR Tolkin 👍🏻
I still don’t believe what I just saw! Nicely done, and who gives a damn if it fires or not! I’d love to own something like that. Beautifully done!! ❤
WOW!!! That was absolutely AMAZING, man! Nothing short of excellence. Good work, my guy! ✌️😎
Restoration? There's like 3 atoms left of the original
Agreeing with you. Ok if you like the rust gone. But he removes a lot of metal actually. Original probably was that thick. He made a new gun model by destroying a historical artifact
Is like You every 10 years your atoms are diferent so can You Say are You the dame?
meaning, for combat against Ukrainians? You saw it wasn't an original handle
Wow, that thing looked gone.
You brought it back to life.
We are capable of such wonderful achievements .
Truly astonishing to watch you rebuild that , great job🙏
Wont be much longer before these restoration channels start trying to restore motor oil back into a dinosaur.
Oil never came from fossils ..
If you really think oil is dinosaur bones then I feel sorry for you...
@@Fapsahoyx I didn't say bones, I said dinosaur, like the whole animal. Its not like they send dug up fossils to a glue factory to be melted down into oil.
@t.c.7137 Based
Oil doesn’t come from dinosaur bones 🦴 that’s a lie it’s anti science
It’s mother natures natural fluid it’s mother earths period
We have endless oil
Great restoration! Congratulations, it looks great. You have a lot of patience and skill to take that piece of history from where it was to what it is today. Excellent job!
This wasn't a "restoration", it was a "Resurrection of the Dead" !!!
Great job, from a fellow antique furniture restoration craftsman.
I know that's not quite the same thing as what you are doing, but the skill,
patience and ingenuity was not lost on me, again "Great Job"!
The amount of work this took, and much had to be added back via welding makes me think it would have been easier to melt it down, add more metal to the crucible and recast the parts to rebuild it.
You managed to restore so much more than I thought you would be able to when I first saw what you started with, I'm impressed by the dedication.
I have no words, this is so far the greatest restoration I have seen.❤
This is amazing, I’ll be honest I had initially thought it was going to be one of the numerous fake restorations on UA-cam, but no this is a real one! You took something which looked beyond repair and completed a through restoration! Well done!!
Holy Moly Man! That's some ambition! No way did I think you could bring that back! Great job!
I believe I've seen at least 100s of restoration jobs on UA-cam, and this one is the best I've seen. To say my thoughts (I'm a better welder and fit to finish) but couldn't begin to pull this job off. I give you my tip of the hat on the job. Greatest job seen done.
I've watched a ton of restoration videos and this is the first video I've thought "There's no way this one is coming back" when it started. I'm flabbergasted and extremely impressed. Obviously with enough knowledge and skills anything can be restored.
I'm blown away and then some. Doesn't matter what I am or any of the other commentary. That's amazing! An excellent parallel Frankenstien story. The best I've EVER SEEN!
Impressive restoration.
Obviously could never be fired, but considering it was one step away from being mud, this is pretty cool. Good job.

Truly a master of the craft. I do not think there are many people who dare to take on such a challenge. well done.
An amazing job! I'm impressed that someone would even try to restore that wreck--- there was hardly anything left of it! An impressive show of skilled craftsmanship.
Wouldn’t believe from what it looked like to now is very impressive , keep up the tremendous work . Absolutely incredible 😇😇😇
Really admire your patience and skill in restoring this old pistol. It is now a very nice collector’s piece
Hi good day es 38" pienso yo" este tiene tambor cilindrico" una pistola tiene es proveedor " the charly"???
The dedication to see it through and the faith in ones own talents is admirable in this day and age with people lacking the attention and patience most wanting instant reward for very little effort your skill level is a prime example that anything is achievable by bringing this piece literally back from an almost certain grave! Excellent work! job well done is an understatement I just hope this encourages more people to learn.
I agree totally!….very well said.
thanks

One of the best Restoration videos on UA-cam 😊
You are an expert all rounder technician having the knowledge of revolver, nicely restored the antique.
This is not gun restoration- this is a new form of art and you are the Master Craftsman !!!
This man knows his guns. Definitely a labor of love for weapons. Thanks for sharing and good luck with your channel 😊
Man you are a legendary restorer. I haven’t seen a restoration this intricate in a long time.
You guys never fail to amaze me, that's a wonderful restoration job I thoroughly enjoyed watching every second of it.
I'm impressed by the skills and patience this gunsmith shows. Thank you for sharing I enjoyed every single second from start to finish.
Thanks for restoring my gun. It looks as good as the day I lost!

This is a perfect restoration I ever watched.
This wasn't a gun restoration, it was a labor of love. TRULY AMAZING! Can't believe you didn't even know what you were working on, figured you had schematics. Take a bow.
I love to use tools, too. I need to learn how to use them, thank u for showing me. Just a 71 year old Great, great grandma.
Never too late. My mother is the same age as you. She's constantly learning new things and has become pretty good with tools, business, computers. It keeps her young.
Stick to the kitchen tools Great Great Grandma. Otherwise you might shoot your eye out....😂
Unbelievable I would not have believed that it could be repaired. Well done.
The best I have ever seen, someone who takes pride in what they do, Great job
A had a friend whose father grew up working in German factories in Europe. The first part of his apprenticeship was learning how to properly use a file to hand craft metal objects. I was impressed with your skill at using files to shape things. Congratulations.
Absolutely incredible skill and artistry exhibited by the restorer of that rusted pistol.
The level of skill needed to accomplish this would be mind blowing, nice work.
Ce n'est pas une restauration. C'est un miracle 😲🤩
Vraiment un magnifique travail d'orfèvre. Bravos ❤️👍
I thought this was a click bait video, but oh my. This was amazing!
most are clickbait, then followed up with a bullshit restoration of fake rust and grime. i avoid those channels at all costs.
The most satisfying restore/rebuild of a gun I have ever seen on here and I am amazed he did it starting from a piece of rust.Masterpiece...
I don’t think “my mechanics” can do what you just did and he’s the goat. Amazing
This isnt a restoration, this is a Resurrection. You brought that gun back from the dead man
Amazing how many moving parts on that thing. Beautiful job on that British classic!
Always throughly enjoyed👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you friend!
How did an American revolver become a British classic ?
The model is the British Bulldog. I have two of them. One made in Belgium and the other made in the USA. Both say British Bulldog on them.@@Freeman-Dl70
A truly monumental work!! An unrecognizable weapon is meteorically transformed by a great Master of restoration!! A real beauty!! Here in Lima Capital!!
Fossilized revolver 140 milion years ago, beautiful work!
I have never seen anything like this. Truly AMAZING!!!
That was the greatest gun restoration I've ever seen
Masterpiece!!!! Great Job!!! I am pretty sure that this is a Hopkins & Allen Model No. 6 Double-Action Revolver Handgun
Hopkins and Allen has a loading cut out, this one has a loading gate. The cylinder flutes go to the end of the cylinder on H&A this one looks more like the belgian revolvers or the webley
I was thinking it looked French.
That took a lot of his time and craftsmanship to restore that gun,he must love doing that.Great work and knowledge of guns
This guy takes craftsmanship to another level.
I was skeptical but by god you’ve done it man!!! Impressive work!!! Minty restore project!! 👌
The best restoration of a gun I have ever seen. Great video.
It does resemble that model except this gun is a double action.
Nope, it's a Belgian Bulldog. There were a few variants but there is one that looks exactly like this one. look at the unique mechanism in front of the cylinder.
Amazing absolutely amazing. Not only a gunsmith but also a fantastic metal worker.
Are their Russian equivalents? Curious.
There is one thats close, M1895 Nagant. Handle is similar, but that gun is a seven shot revolver, this one is a six shooter.
Must admit, you turned a rusted hunk of scrap iron into a respectable propgun.
