  • How to grow monstera from seed! In this video I show you how to start monstera seeds and grow them into small plants! Growing Monstera deliciosa from seed is actually pretty easy and I show two different ways to plant them. Both sphagnum moss and aroid mix work well for growing monstera seeds!

i love experimenting so much, it's such a great opportunity to learn something new about a plant, not just from a book or any other source of text information, but observe it with your own eyes, learn with the plant, understand it much better on an intuitional levels. the opportunity of experimenting and learning got me into plants, specifically orchids, herbs, some simple aroids and begonias, it's so fascinating!

if you layered the substrate, spagnum on top and then the soil and perlite and orchid mix underneath, I wonder if that would work even better. Then the seeds are in the sphagnum Moss until their Roots get long enough and start going into the mix where there's more nutrients.

I let it aclimate for 3/4 off a month and now repoted it its doing grate.
And it really relives me to see that at this stage yours is not making leave gabs either
I thaugt i done something wrong ot its the winter light or my room was to cold ( i dont use the heater but the pc so its still 18 to 20 °C )
But its spreading new leaves constsntly so i was wondering what it is of the plant obviously has a good time xD

Its a pot with drainage holes
And some tea filter then some tropical seramis granit stuff than just regular good plant erth and on top another layer off the tropical substrad the down layer is for better drainage and the one on top against drying out and against mold (hat problems with mold on two plants they are in a less moist room now)
And as i said the monstera demiciosa is doing verry well i hot it with 5 leaves from an aldi
And now it has 11 from wich 4 belong to an offshoot that had just one leave (seams like its 3 indivitual plants but they where inseperable)

I honestly dont know, I cant find any real information on if thats even a real thing or not like the deliciosa vs borsigiana. I see a lot of blogs try and describe the differences but all my monnstera seem like borsigiana until i hit them with good light and a pole to climb

@@TechplantChannel I had the same experience with mine... I chopped mine in several wetsticks and the one’s growing at my place (fertilizer, direct sun, high humidity and warm temperatures in summer) grew to quite a big size and have ruffled petioles. The one’s growing at my girlfriend’s (AC in summer, low light, average humidity, no fertilizer) have tiny leaves and look like the so called 'borsigiana/small form'. I think big/small form are just the same grown under different conditions 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@TechplantChannel I got both normal and large for amd there is a distinct difference in the leaves. They get frills faster at the petiole near the leaf, but also the leaves themselves have more fenestrations and are much bigger than the borsigiana ones. That said, the Borsigiana can also grow very large, just not AS large as the deliciosa ^^

I have a monstera where one leaf is huge with inner fenestrations and no ruffles, and a cutting from it has a small only. slits leaf with nice ruffles. I wanna really dig into it, i wanna find a better way to identify them from each other
