    A nice old Kerker exhaust system on a nice old Honda CB900F or Honda Bol'Or. This is a 1981 bike with 1982 colors. Thanks for watching.

    Your 900F is a real beauty. The Kerker sounds like music to my ears. I have owned a 79 750F for the last 18 years that is very origional. Lets keep em on the road.

    I'm an original owner of a 1982 CB 900F. Bought it new for $1675 from a Honda dealer in Milwaukee. It was two years old with no miles. It now has 36000 miles and I have had zero problems with it. I updated the coils from a mid 90's CBR 600 to help increase spark.

    I just bought one from an estate which sat for over 32 years, with only 4,200 miles on it. Cosmetically perfect but suffered from abandonment and sabotage to the fuel system. It’s well the way to being fully repaired.

    I bought the first retail one sold in tulsa in 1981. The other that came in at the same time went to the guy who owned the place. By the way, that is either am 82 or at the least, the stripe kit of an 82. The bikes were identical except for a change in the vin and the stripe kit. I kept mine a year and got a new Suzuki 110E and ended up selling it and buying back the 900. Of the 50 years that I have ridden and the hundreds of thousands of miles, the 900F is probably my favorite do everything bike. I could ride it to work or ride it to Californina. I did both. Many times I did 4-500 mile days. I put a tracy mini fairing silver color matched on mine. I wish I still had it.

      Thanks for the great story. I do mention the '82 colors in the description. So you got your bike back but not the fairing? Thanks for sharing.

    Probably the best all around bike i have ever owned. This is either a 1982 or it at least has the stripe kit from an 82.

      If memory serves me right, I went from 112 to about 118 on the main jets and raised the needle just a little. I had an Ontario header on mine. With the baffle in, it was a shad rich but spot on when I took the glass packing out and replaced the baffle. You will have to do a plug reading. Altitude and barometer will have an effect and fuel is worse now.

    Very nice bike.
    I have the same one in matt black. Just bought it hopefully it will be in the same condition as yours soon!!
    What have you changed on your bike from original?

    • @ScubaMoto
      @ScubaMoto  6 років тому

      Not too much. Besides the little cosmetics you see, I like the feel of the ATK fork brace and the CB1100F pegs and mounts (rear sets?). Lots of changes to the carbs. You have to when you keep the CV's and go to baskets and 4 to 1. Needed huge jets, raised needles and drilled sliders. Very user friendly with no flat spots on the dyno. Technique borrowed from Kaz Yoshima. Yes, I'm spelling that right. I wish I still had the Ontario Moto pipe.

      I got that visor decades ago on a bike I bought so even then I had no idea where it came from. I like it too. Thanks for watching.

    Sweet ride. I see you have 1100f. Peg assembly. What kind of fork brace? I need one for my 900f

      Kenneth Krajewski: Thanks. That's an ATK fork brace. It makes a world of difference.

      @@ScubaMoto could you tell me more, I may be buying an 82 900f and want to know which bit and bobs would help her the most

    • @ScubaMoto
      @ScubaMoto  3 роки тому

      @@AshlandHale It can be a seriously long list or it can be "Nothing, leave it, or restore it to original" depending on the condition of the bike and what you are trying to do. You're also limited today by what you can find for the beast. Back in the day, to make these bikes perform, we would add the fork brace already mentioned and replace the stock fork spring with a stiffer one. Four into one exhaust was a must; Ontario Moto Techs were the best but KerKers were the most popular. You had to re-jet the carbs for pipes and if you wanted to also use basket filters, you had to seriously modify the original carbs to get the sliders to work. Those who actually raced went all out with FCR slider carbs, piston kits, light swing arms, gas shocks and stripped the bikes down. Oh, and of course, the original "Fonzi" bars had to go no matter what. These look good with Cafe Fairings. Today I've seen these with CBR wheel sets (I have a video of one in my collection). The bike in this video dynos very well . . . for an older bike. If you want modern CBR performance, buy one. It's cheaper in the end. I hope that helps. Congratulations if you decide to get the bike.

    where did you get the decals from ScubaMoto?

    • @ScubaMoto
      @ScubaMoto  6 років тому

      Baba Kong: Remarkably, I found this tank pretty much as you see it. It just needed very minor touch up. The tail and side covers were sourced separately. I did source decals for a repaint of a silver one years ago. I've restored plenty of these old CB900F's. A quick search on "CB900F decals" just produced a site that has decals. It's not the same source I used but it looks pretty good. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
