You make a good observation about the QE2 looking plain in appearance. I made the 1/600 Mauretania by Airfix, and even with no photo etch she is much nicer to look at. The QE2 is just plain, modern and sleek. Ironically the Airfix Canberra, also modern and sleek, looks better.

Don’t know why the instructions require Brick red Matt (Humbrol 70) for the lower hull. Brick Red Matt is brown!
