    You've got to like Scott. Hes like a more modest version of Gordon in this series.

    I love this version of Flying Scotsman, he is more kind and wise than his TV show counterpart.

    I’ve loved how you’ve used Pokémon music in this arc. Also, i’ve never seen Pip and Emma separated and sitting right next to each other

    A similar series of events happened with UP 844 last week, and unfortunately ended in tragedy. It hit a person that was standing too close to the tracks

    What a splendid message you put into this story NWR1991! Lives are more important than anything else! I'm glad Gordon and Duck made up too! Great job as always and don't stop!

    Awesome episode! I think the lesson in this story is very important because there are definitely more important things in life than things you look up to. The funny thing is that the more you talk about the thing you look up to, the more upset you get. I can't wait for your next video :)

    In terms of what happens in this episode... its scarily similar to an episode I'd written way back in June... It has Gordon and Scott arguing, double-heading and the trespassers... Strange.

      Very strange, but it was just pure coincidence.

      It's strange that happened to me too. I wrote a similar story with the trespassers but it didn't have scotsman in.

    I've actually heard somewhere that issues like these with enthusiasts are part of the reasons some railroads don't allow heritage steam locomotives on their tracks these days. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case. One thing that has me thinking is why is Alice part of the Vicarstown museum and not working on the NWR? (Of course, that could be said for all of the engines that are there now)

    reminds me when UP 4014 was pulling into Chyanne Wyoming and many idiots nearly got mowed down by an intermodel. some foamers go too far.

    This was an interesting way to end Flying Scotsman's visit to Sodor. Great way to have the trespassing situation play a part in the story. I am still disappointed that there were some people in the UK that didn't get to see Flying Scotsman (even me). I just hope people can learn how important and vital their own lives are when they take risks like the enthusiasts did in this story and in real life.

    6:21, I was waiting for a clean originally composed version of Gordon's happy theme from A Better View For Gordon for a long time. I also wish Scott had kept his personality from The Railway Series instead of him being an irritating older brother figure. They now make it seem him and Gordon don't even like each other.

    • @NWR1991
      @NWR1991  5 років тому +3

      TheBrickGuy7939 Flying Scotsman didn’t even have one drop of personality in the book. He was only there as his brother and that’s it. To me I quite like the persona he was given in TGR. He’s a bit of a big head himself due to his fame and likes to tease Gordon for the fun of it. But he does care about his brother, I mean you saw his face when Gordon’s boiler was about to burst. He was distressed and worried. Yes he had left him behind but he still does care about him. To me that feels more two dimensional than what Awdry gave him. I’m not saying Awdry was bad at writing the character, I’m just saying that the production team just did him more better.

    • @TheBrickGuy7939

      Basically they're brothers who have a rivalry element about them in ways. I admit though they could give him more appearances by him visiting Sodor, or Gordon meeting him as he goes to London if they adapted Gordon Goes Foreign in CGI to make it more interesting. I am aware they care about each other though as they after all are brothers.

    • @NWR1991
      @NWR1991  5 років тому +2

      TheBrickGuy7939 If they did adapt GGF they would’ve kept it almost to what it looked liked in book, like the Arelsdale trilogy. So Flying Scotsman wouldn’t be in it and would’ve gone with the foreign engine instead. I doubt that any RWS story would be adapted now in the new format as it would be a couple of seconds, maybe it could be with those 3 x 22 minute specials.

    • @TheBrickGuy7939
      @TheBrickGuy7939 5 років тому +2

      I see what you mean. There are many Railway Series stories they could adapt but they wouldn't be consistent with the current state of the series with all the new characters that recently came in. They were going to adapt GGF but didn't have the budget and wanted more stories about Thomas in Seasons 3 and 4. Britt probably would have shoved Thomas in the story though like she did with A Close Shave and Henry And The Elephant to keep the series still about him as the main character.

    History with the Hatts, if TFC’s father brought Scott to Sodor. Then isn’t that Sir Stephen instead of Sir Richard? Sir Charles was in charge in 1967.

      Ok. Well, when that comes into play, I will watch it most definitely. I love the Duck and Diesel plots and how their history effects how they interact, especially when it comes to the build up to an apology and sorting differences out.

    I feel like the Fat Controller's complaint about people still ignoring the rules despite knowing them for years and that ruining the fun for others is a veiled reference to gimmie pigs. Was it?

    • @NWR1991
      @NWR1991  8 років тому +8

      Not really but given the context it can be. The line was done as a bit of criticism of many rail fans standing close to the line to get a picture or video of Flying Scotsman ever since its inaugural run back in Feb 2016.

      I haven't seen any enthusiasts be that dangerous, but you are right, trespassing on railway lines can be very dangerous, especially on the mainline, some engines can't stop in time.

      There was one time this year on a heritage railway i work at, there we people that were walking along the line and they said "We know the timetable and we're ok" but what they didn't know was that we had a motor trolley running on that section on the line and they were surprised when they saw it coming down the line, that same day another family walked on the line and they said that "As locals we should have the right to walk along the tracks"

    • @TARDIS9
      @TARDIS9 8 років тому

      What?!? That's just stupidity! These people don't understand that, just because steam engines are slower, doesn't mean they can stop quicker! Especially if the driver can't see them! I'm a lifelong steam enthusiast, but I'd never do anything as stupid as walk along a railway line that was in constant use, unless it was a part of the line that was deemed safe to cross by the company or society operating that line! And I hope those of you reading this won't do anything so blatantly foolish either, if you have any sense! I appreciate the 'public right of way' business, but this is a case in which people's lives could be at risk!
