Living in the Seattle area, I've come to really appreciate heavy denim as I can wear it for 8 to 9 months a year. The heavier weight denim sells so darn fast!! I adore my Oni 20oz secret denim in the high taper. I'll probably try the N&F King of Slub too.
Jeans are what got me subscribed to your channel, glad to see some more denim in the collection 😄 I have way too many pairs but they’re just so nice 😂

Just ordered my first pair of IH 21oz jeans. Hoping to make them my daily drivers for years but those PBJ’s could definitely find some time in my rotation if I ever financially recover from the IH purchase! Great video as always Nick!

I just bought a pair of C17 (old skool French) selvedge jeans….and I bought them for £33….they have 1% elastane and they are fantastic! As a work jean they’ll be fabulous.
Nick excellent vid again. I just got a pair of 18oz PBJ and life has changed. I call it the zombie era proof armour. With my whites my half sole I think I can outlast a zombie apocalypse in them.
My PBJs were the first that made me really "get" the appeal of thick denim. Like armour, yes!

Have you ever featured "Benzak"? They make excellent denim also, yet I don't hear about them too often from other channels.

Good call! I mostly wear Taylor Stitch's Democratic Foundation pants for chinos. I prefer canvas pants if I'm not wearing jeans personally but yes I'll work on that

man I would love to see you try some wider leg jeans. You've got a pretty nice solid physique, a pair of non-tapered (and maybe higher waisted) jeans would really compliment your proportions. Sometimes a tapered jean makes our torsos look longer and our legs look shorter than they are. Have you ever looked at TCB??

Nick does that mean I can have all your old selvedge denim 😭? I’d say maybe the only pair you’re missing is a more relaxed fit denim in like a vintage blue. I know you like tapered jeans but man as someone who also exclusively wore tapered jeans and still do, it’s nice to have that one relaxed pair that I can just slap on and run around in.

lol ive look back on the time when i bought all my raw denim from around 2019-2021 and i believe i spent about £3500 on 16 items of raw denim shirt, jeans and jackets, do i regret it you might ask? Hell Nawwww, im set for life cannot go back to highstreet jeans
It's funny I was talking to the guy who owns Standard and Strange who was saying there was a boom in raw denim /heritage stuff from like 2007-2013 and then it fell off, with the theory being that once everyone had buy it for life gear, they stopped buying!

I'm shocked that you've never had riveted back pockets. That's basically standard for jeans - are you sure your jeans don't have hidden rivets? Those are usually pretty desirable since the rivets won't, say, scratch up paint jobs on cars you're leaning against.
Shame no Blackhorse Lanes. They are great too. Similar to Shockoe but English. I dig the American makers too, shout out to Rogue Territory and 3Sixteen. I just need more normal/wide fitting denim. No more slim cut nonsense.

Most of these people will be lucky to hold on to their jeans for 5 months, let alone wear them for that long. Always buying the next new 'in' thing & therefore they'll never get the desired fade. Now I got some jeans going back 30 yrs (they just fit) & the others between 10-20yrs (they fit good) which have good fade & wear.
How many ounces per yard does it take to walk like you have a hemorrhoid attack?

In my experience i would never buy slim or skinny selvedge , the only wearable style , from now to ederly years is STRAIGHT

Raleigh is by far the most pretentious denim brand. And about $150 over priced compared to brands of the same build quality. Can't stand them.
