- Hello legends!!
Been a while since I did a canoe wild camp camp and the weather was just tooooo nice not to be out on the water!!
I love getting out on the rivers as it unlocks new wildlife to see and fresh places in nature to explore that many don’t…especially the smaller less known rivers.
Sorry for the audio I’ll be buying a new mic soon.
I really enjoyed this camp and was happy with the spot i eventually ended up at!
They were Damselflies that i filmed (blue) but there was some big ol blue dragonflies too 🤙
I really get a buzz out of setting off somehwere on adventure and not knowing where i will be spending the night.
Massive love to Ant at Beancampingpodcast (check them out) for lending me the canoe for so long!! I’ll end up with my own eventually 😂

Snakes are just part and parcel of camping here in Tasmania. They just want to be left alone unless you’re small enough to eat, although I remember one time a tiger snake curled up in the kitchen on the hearth of our combustion stove in the mid 1970s…

Have you ever considered getting and customising a canoe, so it could become like a Bivy-Tent on the Water, or when you beach it?
With maybe one of those small wood stoves at one end of it? I’ve thought about doing it myself, but where i live now, there isn’t really much point at the moment?
You’d keep the Adders out at least and the Land Owner’s can’t have a go at you, because technically you wouldn’t actually be ON their Land?
I’ve suggested this idea a couple of times, on other channels, only to get moaned at by the Anal Retentive’s, on why it couldn’t or shouldn’t be done?
But I’d still do it myself if i could, if only to give it a try! I just wouldn’t mind . . . if other’s beat me to it?😉

Citronella Candles will help you keep the Mossies at bay , or you could get a Thermocell burner , But the Patches and Gas Cartridges do cost , They have an Effective range of about 15 Feet when Lit though .

,glad someone found some peace and quiet, I bought a narrowboat,definitely not peacefully. Seen loads of adders up Northumberland, 6 in one day on kielder drive,3 big black ones on a small mound, started hissing at us and we're deffo not moving so we backed off

Adders are fairly threatened here in the UK due to habitat loss etc, you're lucky to have seen one. Shame you couldn't get it on video though but it's best not to mess with a venomous snake ^^;
Like a journey into the unknown, like an alligator was going to grab you at any time. The blue Damselflies show the water is un polluted. I like exploring these no go areas . Lucky to see an adder even though you couldn't risk camping there. A pleasure to watch 😊👍

Another fab video! This sort of activity is magic@ canoe & camp. The sense of freedom you get, you can simply NOT put into words. Here in Wales, I've done this on tributaries off the River Wye. Just yourself (and also maybe a partner or a good mate), Canoe, minumum needed kit, some basic foods, plus some beer (in moderation of course ;) and voila! Good to go for a weekend. . . Life at its best! Please keep up the good work (your stuff is good enough for a mini series on Discovery). From brain damage and stroke survivor, Rob.

Great video Mate! I'll never forget the time me and my son were out exploring the woods along the River Greta, and we stopped for a rest by an old tree stump on the bankside. Looked inside and it was squirming with baby adders! We didn't stay long.
