I've tried both and Nimbus 25 is the right shoe for me due to its wider geometric (in the regular version) like you've mentioned. In the 1080v13, the geometric was snug from the laces to the toe box. The wider version 1080v13 has a roomy toe box but looks humongous on my feet. In the Nimbus 25, I had to half-size up to give a thumb-size room and the run was great, relaxing, and the midsole was on-point. The midsole for the 1080v13 is too soft for my liking but the Nimbus 25 was just about right for the squishiness and stability.
I have been running in the nimbus 25 and was very happy. I tried nimbus 26 and did not like at all. Too stiff and too tight. Will go back to nimbus 25. I am looking for a lighter shoe to run London marathon. Could nimbus 25 work for daily training and 1080 for race day? What other shoes would you recommend for race day if nimbus 25 is my trainer? I think the 1080 is too soft and squishy for a marathon. If you are after a non plated shoe have a look at the ASICS Novablast 4 or ASICS Superblast. Thanks for the comment!
Have you burned out the 1080’s? Seems like you assume because the 1080 is softer that it will flatten out quicker. I wouldn’t assume that the foam is going to give out faster just because it’s softer. It’s a different formula than the Nimbus. After about 300 miles in my nimbus’s, they just felt like a block of heavy foam and the spring was gone.
@@SteevWho The 1080s are still going great. I have a mate who has over 600k in his and reports they still have some bounce and life in them. These reviews are my options at that time. Often shoes surprise me and the 1080 is certainly a shoe that's held up far longer than I expected.
@@Not-Me66 I just said it does not come in all blk in 4E. My b&W 4E arrived today. Fits perfectly. Haven't been able to fully test them due to rain, but seems a very sure footed and comfortable pair of shoes. Mesh net top still firm but it gives too.
As a Doctor i stand for 8-10 hrs per day . Which one is better ? Asics gel nimbus 25 ? ( which has better discount now ) or new balance v 13 . Which is almost double the price in india now .

You said that the 1080V13 fits long but you can go down half a size in the Nimbus 25.. 😅 I tried both and I think in both I can go down half a size compared to the SC Elite V3 or Metaspeed Sky Plus which are TTS. In the Superblast and 1080V12 I am a half size down.. SC Trainer V2 I am TTS but I think I should have gone half a size down because it's a baggy upper.
Which one would you recommend for someone who would use them for short walks and standing? I'm chronically ill and looking for a shoe that is very comfortable, helps with energy return when walking, but also is stable and comfortable when standing still. I have the original adidas ultraboosts (i believe the 19?), though despite the toebox sometimes feeling a little too tight, I love the comfort and bounce it gives, and the standing/walking on a cloud feeling so to speak. I'm still very torn so I'd love to hear your opinion, thank you so much!
The Nimbus is more stable and very comfortable! It's got a rocker that will make you feel like you are rolling forward. I am not sure if that is a sensation you would like. The Nike Vomero 17 is another very comfortable/ stable shoe that doesn't really have a rocker effect.
I'm not sure durability is the best metric for this. The difference is so marginal, it doesn't matter. You're gonna get tired of them and replace them well before they wear out. Thanks for the review!
But not everyone has the ability to replace them when they get ‘bored’. It’s just better to use the shoe through the full life or it’s just gonna be a waste for that 260$(Australian dollars) price (expensive for most of people’s standards for shoes in Australia)

I think the Nimbus is the safer shoe, The 1080 might be a bit wobbly on a bad back.

Honestly I am just guessing here...both are pretty hot and hard to tell. If I had to say one it would be the Nimbus.

If you are after a softer ride for recovery the 1080, if you need some softness with some stability the Nimbus is better.
I've heard the Nimb. 25 bottoms out at 300 miles.

I have well over 400 miles on mine and soles look fresh, however my big toe is stick out of the toe box.
