Between 2 shoes was great when researching what shoes to get this past spring. I got the Nimbus 25s and they are some of my favorite shoes ever.

Fresh Foam 13 and Skechers SwirlTech are the best 8 hour working on your feet shoes. Kayano 29 and K Swiss Tubes 200 are Fantastic for exercising up to 2 hours. Marshmallow Comfort vs. Athletic Comfort ;)
Man as someone who realllly dislikes their 1080v12s the 13s are intriguing with all the positive reviews.
I HATED the v12. I finally got to try the v13 today, and I have to say that they are a HUGE improvement. Definitely will be getting them!
@@ashleyxctf Hoping to buy a pair here. I couldn't get a good fit in the v12's. I wear 10.52E in the 880v12's and the 10.5 2E were too big and the 10 2E too small. Even tried the regular width in 11 and those didn't work as well.
After recently buying the NB 1080 V13 and previously owning the ASIC Nimbus 25, I can say I prefer the 1080v’s as the foam is a little more firm in the mid sole whereas the Nimbus is too soft causing an awkward hotspot on the bottom of my feet. I would recommend the 1080vs for recovery runs and the Nimbus for walks or short treadmill runs.
exchange the insole of your nimbus 25 and the hotspot stops
I think it made more sense to compare NovaBlast 3 to 1080v13
The Asics Nimbus 25's have been put through and against a variety of older and newer competition on this show and a few others many times which goes to show how versatile and well designed they are.
Have and like Saucony a lot (their pwrrun system is awesome) but which to choose over Saucony Triumph 20 and Nimbus 25, the one that got me to pick the Nimbus 25 mainly is everything's simply dialed in to most of my preferences.
the nimbus is my daily right now and it is a heavy shoe. i don't run more than a 10k at a time due to the weight and by the time I'm done i really feel that weight. looking for something new. can't find the Superblast in my size anywhere. might give the 1080 v13 a go
As Thomas states around 4:05 , the 'More v5' should be a more direct competitor of the Nimbus. Personally, I'd also like to see a stability variant on that wide 'NB More' platform. Something tuned to compete against the Kayano 30. Leaning toward the v3 direction. Softest squish in the world, is not everybody's need.

Would be interested to hear New Balance 1080v13 vs Saucony Triumph 21
1080v13 is very soft and shock absorbing, better for recovery. Triumph 21 is firmer but bouncier, better for daily.

Which is better for walking?
I like the Nimbus and New Balance fits my foot weird causing some pain across the forefoot.
Which is more comfortable as in softer and more squishier ?
Meaghan what would your choice be between the gel nimbus 25 or the super comp v2 ? I just grabbed the v2 and I don't really like the upper, the midsole is amazing obviously!
So ASICS disconnected my favorite walking shoe, the Gel Kahana. Any recommendations on a good replacement from any brand? Similar in style and comfort?
The recency bias is as usual strong. But I still like the format.
Bias? They’ve done equal numbers of events with ASICS as with NB. Actually far more, I believe. What about those ASICS van tours?

I like the Nimbus 25 much more than the 1080v12. I haven't tried 1080v13 yet
Seems like a totally revamped shoe. Probably similar to the triumph 20 vs 19. Can’t wait til they are in stores because on paper it might be the sweet spot for a cushioned trainer without too much weight.

I loved the 1080v10.
Firm hard shoe.
I have a pair of Nimbus 25's and really like them for recovery and steady runs. I haven't worn the 1080's, but I've worn them in the past and they were always an OK shoe. Neither of them matches the Hoka Clifton 9 which I can wear for steady runs or quicker runs. Much lighter than either.
Hokas don't last though

The fresh foam more v4 feels like a brick under foot. Is the 1080v13 softer ?
Much softer and more stable. It has a better fit too. I have tired both.
If you had to spend 4.5 - 5 hours (10:30-11:00 marathon pace) running in one, which would you choose? Still trying to decide on which shoe for Dopey ‘24 marathon. Also considering Nike Invins 3 and version 1 Strung.
What do you mean the 1080 v13 hasn’t been around quite as long? It’s not even available for purchase yet!
13th iteration versus 25th iteration. Not necessarily how long the current version of each shoe has been available.

I dont own any running shoes with a carbon plate so my next pair of shoes will definitely have that. What do you suggest if it comes to adidas vs newbalance plated shoes?

@@mtimbroimsvs adidas Boston 12 (it has energy rods that act like a carbon plate but it’s less a plate and more of a couple of rods moving from the heel through the Midfoot to the forefoot and acts exactly like a plate)

Bought the Nimbus in China not knowing anything about it purely because of how insanely comfortable it felt in store for only £100.

Which feels softer for easy runs?
Idk I like the nimbus bc these springy mushy shoes FEEL cool BUT the planet isn’t a trampoline and I don’t think they are the best choice always .
If someone has weak or injured tendons the last thing they need is a material pushing into those areas and fighting those areas with every step.
I noticed the nimbus was overworking an area that was still healing for me .
Sometimes a shoe that feels sturdily ish under the foot is the most logical and best choice .
A think the ideal shoe feels sturdy right underneath the shoe and then squishes down beneath that initial layer . That way it’s like walking a solid surface but with the impact absorption benefit . That also allows the foot to push off of it properly rather than be in a bit of a mush .
This is probably where hoka is better. Although I find ok having an issue on the inner heel as many have had , other than that the hoka feel is a clear upgrade from a mushy shoe.
The mushy shoe thing is a fun experience but I think some people confuse fun for necessary
If you talk about comfortable running shoes for long distance, nothing comes close to new balance freshfoam x V4.
The 1080v13 has a higher stack and has a new re-formulated foam that makes it softer yet bouncier, I think the ‘more’ in the ‘more v4’ applies to the 1080v13 more

Why in the first two runs for the Nimbus 25s as a Clydesdale Runner do I have both the cush feel but also the hot spots. Also does the shoe seem to feel hot? I think I was looking for more of a Bondi/More type didn't think it was more like a 1080.
Bondi is more firm than the More v3 and 4.

I really wanted to like the Nimbus 25, just couldn’t get past the forefoot blistering and the overall heat the upper generated. 😢
Does anyone know if the Nimbus 25's are good for jumping rope and running in place?
I'm just starting out and am running in place because I need to lose about 65 pounds.. But, I hope to eventually take my running outside.
Any recommendations for shoes for a heavier beginning runner would be appreciated. 🙂

Seems unfair to compare 1080 to the Nimbus 25. Nimbus 25 can go against Hoka Bondi. I would say 1080 needs to battle the Cumulus more.
I think its just right since the Nimbus and 1080 are the premium daily trainer of both Brands. For me its, Bondi vs More, Nimbus vs 1080, and Cumulus vs 880.

1080 vs Triumph
In my shoe store, the Nimbus 25 and 1080v13 are frequently tried on back to back along with the Hoka Clifton 9, Brooks Glycerin 21 and On Cloudsurfer. I personally would compare the Nimbus to Bondi, Ghost Max…but I do understand why people compare them.

25 and 26 are practically the same shoe
@@klipk7296exactly, 26 just slightly firmer (not even noticeable, I tried both on it’s VERY slight) and basically just looks better but performance wise it’s the same thing, 26 is a tiny bit heavier
