Really nice video, Ken. I've really appreciated this material for many years, based the CD of Miles '58. For over a year, I had intended to write to Chad to suggest that he make a 45 RPM, best sounding ever, LP release of this material which, as you stated, doesn't have as good of sound as Kind of Blue but is, artistically, just as fantastic. It needed the audiophile treatment. So, obviously, I'm thrilled with Chad already having the idea and acting on it. I ordered it the day Acoustic Sounds released info about it and can't wait to hear it. Such great music. Thanks again for making a really enjoyable video about it.
I don't always agree with your opinions, but what's undeniable is your passion for both hifi and jazz. Great video and thank you for the review and suggestion.
Ken GREAT review, sir! You have sold me on the album, can’t wait to buy it. I met you last month at Blank Street Coffee. You were about to set up an auction at The Jazz Record Center and kindly took the time to have a quick chat and take a photo with me. Thanks again, I am loyal subscriber and I look forward to receiving more knowledge about HiFi equipment and Jazz from you in the near future. - Chris
You’ve done a lot of great videos but I think this could be one of your best. I loved the fact that you didn’t know who Miles was but had the…..you know what’s, to ask to take his picture. We all know that he could be a little difficult. You said that you would check on him. Did you have other interaction with him, any other stories? I do have this on order. Thanks again for your insight.
Thanks for the review. I'll admit I was on th fence about this as I have the Mosaic Complete Miles/Trane CBS sessions on LP box. I'm sure the overall sound of this is better than the Mosaic. The playing on this stuff is great no doubt.
NAiled it again Ken... I was going to review this for my channel..but after yours.. I am sure there is nothing to say! LOL...I'll link your review to my next video(next week). How could I add anything to what you so prefectly said about these recordings. Thanks again for your knowledge and insite. I have the OG of Basic Miles and I can't eait to compare, but I am sure you neiled it already.--JG
Do you know how this latest LP compares to the CD versions of these songs in the KOB 50th Anniversary box? I have that box & trying to decide if I there's any difference between the two versions. Any opinions?
I don’t recall, but I do recall that the 50th anniversary kind of blue actually wasn’t that good sounding. I actually attended the remastering sessions and I don’t know what the problem was but personally I felt that mix was sort of cold even though the speed had been corrected. But if these four songs appeared on that box, the Fidelity would definitely be better than any prior releases such as jazz track or miles 58. At least that’s my opinion.
@kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455 Thanks for the feedback back. And you're right about the KOB 50th. That's why I bought the UHQR. But I love the book and other materials that came with it.
Hello from Oregon! Thanks for the great review. I’m expecting my copy soon. I’ve enjoyed watching your show for several years!

That story about taking his photo is fantastic!!!
This group is the best ever, Miles Davis is the King, just ordered my audiophile copy

Thank you for your nice comment
Nice one, Ken!
I got my copy yesterday (black vinyl) and im extremely happy with it! I did a short video. Great review, liked and subscribed.
You were fortunate. I ordered mine Dec 6 and I'm told it will ship Jan 10 but I suspect it will be much later.
Great review, love the Miles picture.
Great review, thank you! I've ordered my copy. Can't pass this up!!
Must try and seek this album out ( Christmas present to myself). Fingers crossed.

Thanks for your nice comment and for saying hi. I really appreciate it.
Chris, we met the place near the store, right, not a Blank Coffee. Had me confused!
Hey Ken. Thanks for the great info on this LP. Cheers
Already have this on other comps, but really appreciate your review.
Thanks, Ken. Another interesting video.
Thanks, Ken. Can’t wait for my copy to arrive.

I had no other interaction with him. I’ve interviewed many of his musicians through the years for various publications. Life is freaky. Thank you.
Amazing story , imagine walking down the street and Miles is there ……..
Exactly
It was a real pleasure to meeting you yesterday, i just wanted to talk about this album, i missed the opportunity. too bad for me,
Huh? I don’t understand.
@@kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455 No problem, i was to impress to meet you in person, i was just unable to have an intelligent conversation.

What it sound better than the mosaic? I believe all the mosaics were done digitally, but I bet it still sounds great.

Your viewpoint and ears are different than mine. I look forward to your review.
Many thanks! I would have preferred to be at the launch event rather than buying the record :-)
Maybe a nice add-on or bookend as you say.

It's trying capture more money of Kind of Blue
So does it sound better than a 6-eye Jazz Track album? Or have additional material?
I have not done that comparison. I have the jazz track mono reissue. This is stereo. No additional material.
Acoustic Sounds canceled my order. Sold out. Why do they accept more orders than they can fulfill? Disappointed.
The limited Blue version?
yep. I see the black version is still available. I’ll go with that.
Your American not English... you don't say Dosh !
