Exactly!! I’m sure they could come up with a “ public nuisance order” on him… And to think we have to share the roads with these types of people😔 you can tell by his attitude that he’s not a considerate law abiding safe driver, infact you can tell that just by looking at his car and the fact he had no tax!! So he’s been driving it around without road tax and he’d run out of diesel, I’m sure they could find him driving on a local camera somewhere and also charge him for that offence!!

What if the car got loose (chain/tie breaking, etc) or they got into an accident? If anybody got injured the tow truck driver and the tow company could be found liable for any injuries sustained by his passengers even if somebody else caused the accident. Absolutely not worth the risk.

In the U.K. registration is a 1 off payment made on all brand new vehicles being registered for the very first time… After that it’s compulsory tax, insurance and MOT, yearly… So in short their tax is the same as our yearly registration however their compulsory 3rd party insurance (same as our compulsory 3rd party insurance, which doesn’t cover vehicle damage, that’s a whole other insurance just like we have here) is the most expensive part of their yearly fees, prices are determined by vehicle year, how long you’ve held a license, your driving history, your age, your address etc etc even a speeding fine or a DUI charge can increase your insurance by 100s and 100s of pounds per year… I was reading some articles a week ago on compulsory U.K. vehicle insurance and a learner driver with a £1200 2014 Ford Fiesta was paying £4800 a year for insurance😮 some were paying even more, I just hope our government doesn’t get any ideas… A lot of people don’t worry about it because their vehicles aren’t worth it and the fines they get for driving uninsured is nowhere near the cost of the insurance… I honestly don’t know how people can afford to drive on U.K. roads especially students or those with low income jobs…
Edit: oh and here in Australia our 3rd party insurance (which we pay in our registration) covers anybody driving our vehicle but in the U.K. it doesn’t!! So if I leant my car to a mate they’d have to take out their own insurance in order to drive my vehicle and be covered… It’s just ridiculous😔😔

I like these shows. I’m American and this feels odd to just tow a vehicle with people in it if it’s for legal reasons. That’s a safety issue in the US. US is known for being “home of the weapon”. That’s why we can’t do stuff like this with the people owning and or passengers. I’m one to not believe in having a weapon. There’s no real good reason for having one. If people didn’t have a typical weapon, then no one would “feel” the need to have one for safety reasons. The same as the show “Call The Bailiffs”. They just walk up to a business or home, peaking all in the windows and the mail holes. I don’t feel unsafe in the US, but the not having to think about in certain scenarios that someone might have a weapon seems so nice to have. That’s probably also why I like these shows.

If you don't want to insure your property against theft that's YOUR choice, no-one else's, but why should everyone else pay higher insurance premiums to cover YOUR costs if you decide not to pay for theft insurance?
Edit: a typical whinging "it's not my fault, why should I pay" response from those who think they're entitled to what they haven't paid for but others have.
If you want theft insurance, pay for it.
If you think whoever stole it was to blame and should pay, you can always sue them.

If it needs to be stored privately, yes. But this won't happen if the vehicle is used for evidence.
If the vehicle is not being used for evidence, it should be released pretty quickly. And since the prosecution is taking so long, it's going to be claimed for in the payment the defendant will have to make if found guilty to cover damages & costs etc. Won't even need to go through insurance likely.
If found innocent, well then, your vehicle was impounded rightfully since nothing illegal was done with it by another party.

Why don't they auction off the great, good, or just exceptical cars, truck or even motor bikes?? They would get much more money then scraping them. All the new owners would have to do is be given some type of title, pay the insurance and registration, and pay a lock smith to put new locks all the way around. I am assuming they don't have the keys to many. If they can't drive it or like most auction give you 48 hours to remove the purchased car. That would let the car pound make even more money to tow the car to a location the new owners ask. Even the government would make money from the registration (tags) etc for the car. The way they are doing it the car pound makes very little from scrap and the government makes nothing at all. Is that not common sence??
