He barked once at a dog but every other dog he passed on our 20 minute journey he didnt bark. At work he didnt bark at everyone. Just once! Then we walked to the pub for lunch.He did not bark at all. I can’t tell you how much I have to do this with my Pomeranian who has super anxiety. If I don’t ignore her, truly mahe an real efforts to practice this method she will bark fir hours. Her barking is all anxiety and she barks at everything g. I’m learning the more I ignore the better off she is. She barks if I stand up, sit down, go upstairs anything. I have gotten in the habit of using this method before my dogs go outside. I make them quiet before they go out so they go out in the yard and do their thing without barking at anything in the neighborhood. Doesn’t work ever time but I also block , touch lightly ir maje my sound fir quiet to keep the peace in our neighborhood. They knuw their place but my little Pom is so easily startled it’s critical to use this for her. Thanks agsin Cesar for teaching me this!
We put human emotions onto dogs but when dogs are excited it’s not a natural state.. i always ignore my dogs when I come home because I don’t want them going nuts.. my presence is enough for them.. they can smell the groceries or whatever.. but they are always calm.. and perfect and happy.. ❤
Cesar, your help is desperately needed. We live in a communal type facility where there are a lot of elderly folks. Alsu, we have other dogs as well. Well, my dog of 9 years, that has never had to even worry about his barking, now needs help to be less vocal. We've tried shock collars, dog barking deterrent little houses, even anxiety meds from the vet that has known my dog all his life. My dog is driving these people nuts, and I'm getting the brundt of it with constant complaints, which doesn't do anything but put more undue stress on me and make me worry they're going to evict me from this assistant living facility. I love your work ethics. I have a dachshund in my circle that was trained by your methods and that's the best behaved in the facility. But, she was a constant barker when she first got here too. With all the dementia floating around here these folks don't remember everyone hated her at first as well. But the guy that used your methods knows you deal with hard headed dogs. He's not hard headed, he's just set in his ways after 9 years of not having to curb his vocal ability. Please, please even the guy that trained his dachshund to roam around here with our a collar or a leash, and have that pet still mind 99% of the time. This whole community needs your help. We even have a Chihuahua that has a reputation to be the ~peranna of Hillcrest~. That dog owner believes hitting the dog is the best way to discipline that situation of attacking even unsuspecting victims. That dog has bitten 5 times in the 2 two years I've lived here. The main subject is the constant barking 9 years old wonderful dog that is still so scared he shakes and the only thing to get him to remain calm is his Mama. He doesn't respond to treats, food, just Mama. Please, please can you help us in this problem? I struggle with this because my buddies are genuinely happy and excited to see me. More so the one, but they both cry with excitement until i come in, and i love to show them im really happy to see them when i get home. I empathicaly visualize from there view with this method and to one day just have me completely ignore them, its heartbreaking. I can't do that. If they didn't care when i walked it suddenly, id think something was wrong. But for them, im their world. So how much is that multiplied? Ouch

Ceasar, after watching many of your tv shows and videos, I have come to a conclusion that generally the owners are to be held responsible for the aggressive behaviour of the dogs; and the poor dogs are at the receiving end of several adjectives like vicious, aggressive, wild etc. Thanks for passing this wisdom to all. I wished that helped for us. We’ve tried that many times when people come to the door and they still bark and jump. They are still puppies but not for much longer. This is the hardest part of our training. Walking is fine. They ignore people Now.
I was just rehearsing how I would "discuss" how terribly unskillfully my neighbors have taught their two dogs to constantly misbehave. I concluded my appraisal with, "You ought to go watch a few videos by Cesar Milan, and learn how to solve the barking problem. Cesar would have the dogs trained properly in 5 minutes or less." Now, only a couple of days later, I have the EXACT video to recommend! Somebody else commented last week on how UA-cam was becoming telepathic for them, as well! Wow! Amazing!

Then what he felt was making them have fun is he would rile them up and say, "Who's that? Who's there?!" Then they would get wild and bark and he thought it was so funny. I let my dogs alert, than walk up check what thier barking at, let them know they did a good job a we all walk off together. Once they know im alerted they stop barking. It was easy to train them to do this. They also know that if i say alert they are to act aggressive but not to attack.

The little Staffy I dog walk is so crazy excited to see me, she leaps, 4-5 ft in the air in front of me, splaying all fours like she’s flying, barking all the while. I’ve done everything I can to ignore her until she settles down but after two years of her behavior, she launches herself into the air, AGAIN! Now, I’ve just given in to my laughter.
i have learned so much about dogs from you and very very grateful for it as I my dogs feel much compatible with me or i see they feel i understand them to good enough extent and its mostly because of the things i have learned here

Yes exactly, attaining that state is critical but very difficult for people who have suffered trauma and live with panique, terror and anxiety.

I like that my dog barks when someone rings the doorbell...Single and find it helpful for safety. She is calm when people come in and I say Friend 🧡
