Nah their are bosses/personas in Persona 4 that can stop/manipulate/destroy time. Still this is accurate if we're only considering that's the only Persona Yu can use.

Seeing how Yu only used Izanagi then I knew that Jotaro would win
If Yu uses multiple Personas thanks to his wildcard ability then Jotaro would have been obliterated

If it was a Full fledged Death Battle and used Yu Narukami at his Fullest potential and the same to Jotaro then Yu Narukami Stomps hard. In order for Jotaro to beat Narukami is having a magic attack because without one Yu can just have a physical Repelling Persona and Jotaro can basically never Touch Yu. Jotaro could come up with a plan but I think coming up with one to take the win is about 1%. Not only that Yu has healing abilities restarting all of Jotaros progress and let's not Forget Yu erased a God out of existence with Izanagi-No-Okami. And Sure Jotaro has timestop but Jotaro is very limited to it and can't constantly spam it because he'll become more exhausted. And Yu has survived deadly blows from many opponents that star platnums diamond breaking strength wouldn't even be enough. Not only that Yu has so much destructive power that Jotaro would be left injured and have no way of healing while Yu has healing abilities. The list goes on and on. Jotaro only won in the DBX because they Nerfed Yu which I understand to make it more fair. And Yu could beat Jotaro with Just Izanagi if Jotaro didn't have Za Warudo

I would like to state that Yu blocking Star Finger and punishing it that hard is NOT an exaggeration.
As a Jotaro player in Heritage for the future (where they got most of Jotaro’s sprites) I can attest to the fact that getting blocked when you use Star Finger is bordering on a death sentence.
As powerful as Jotaro is, I feel like the result would have been tipped in Yu's favour if Izanagi No Okami was involved, since it literally beats a shinto god. Also, Yu beats Margaret, One Who Rules Over Power, which is a feat that can't exactly be overlooked
As a DBX animation, I ain't too peeved about it since this is basically just Yu if he was at the start at the game essentially.
But if we were to treat it like a normal Death Battle, Yu kinda closes this one out time stop or not.
Null physical would probably be more useful than repel, if he had yoshitsune, lucifer, or any of the top personas, even without izanagi-no-okami, I don't think Jotaro would even stand a chance at that point.
But since this is no information just basically two characters who have similar ways of attacking, yeah it's a cool animation.

Alright so, both JoJo and Persona are kind of my favorite games, animes, mangas, and so on.
*Here is my opinion about the fight and analysis.*
*Yu Narukami:*
Since they cannot summon Personas in the real world (Persona 1 and 2 not being included) this would mean that basic items, skills, and accessories (+stats) play a role here.
If Yu would have used a Persona with Null Physical
(a passive skill that absorbs physical damage) then he would have an easy game.
I assume Yu did not awaken Izanagi-no-Okami yet as he didn't use it. It could be a lot of help using Myriad Truths.
Healing items surely would be useful as well if this Yu didn't have any other Persona to heal himself or said above.
*Jotaro Kujo:*
Star Platinum is a strong physical stand and time stop is really what tops all.
It's quite questionable if any of the stands use magic.
I guess some attacks like Avdol's
Magician's Red's flames attacks would count as magical flame attacks in the Persona realm.
So it could've been a back and forth. The right Persona that Yu uses could be a greater challenge for Jotaro.
*Non-Canon [JJBA]*
Requiem - Over Heaven
Disclaimer. I know *The World Over Heaven is not canon* but here is my theory.
I know it can be questionable in what category TWOH would be in Persona stats but...
Since Almighty damage can't be nulled or repelled, it's a big bypass to always do damage.
Thus if TWOH would exist, it would give Jotaro the same abilities as Star Platinum is the same stand as The World. [Explanation for Jotaro gaining Twoh's power in JJBA:EOH]
With that ability again, he maybe could outplay the Null Phys and good Persona techniques.
[I know TWOH had the ability to rewrite reality but we will leave that one aside as Jotaro only used strength to overpower TWOH/ DIO]
This would turn the fight into a long-lasting battle. The first one to become exhausted would lose.
*Little fun fact:*
Normally Yu could not see Jotaro's Stand.
True both are somewhat similar but they are not the same.
Just as a Chinese is different from a Japanese. Both are Asians, none are the same.
A Persona serves as a mask to the individual. Their other-self that they accepted.
A Stand is one person's fighting spirit. You can have a fighting spirit like Jonathan or young Joseph and don't have a stand.
So even if you call them somewhat similar, they are not the same. Different rules, different abilities.
*Conclusion:*
I'd say the fight displayed above was pretty realistic but pretty boringly executed. The power of the wildcard has the ability to switch Personas in possession.
Jotaro > Yu with Izanagi.
Jotaro < Yu with Null Phys Persona.
Jotaro [with OH Boost] > Yu with Null Phys.
Jotaro [OH Boosted] =?= Yu/ Izanagi no Okami
In the end, it's a hard debate but I hope you see my points. Both franchises are great and it doesn't mean you can't like both.
Edit: Alright. I am not so sure if timestop even works out on a persona user. We’ve seen that time can be stopped and Persona users are aware of the cause. I assume we don’t have many answers currently to answer it. Who knows if it’s just fate that paused time but allowed persona users to bypass it or not. This is why I’ll leave this out.
Actually you can summon personas in the real world, its explained in p4a that via sheer mental training or the use of an evokers, Personas can be summoned irl.

Yu is not using his wildcard abilities, he uses only the most basic Izanagi with the most basic skills, he did not use any of the buffs, or aliments, or phys reflecting personas. Yu was stuck with the most basic option and forms, while Jotaro was at his P3 peak with timestop. Yu should be miles ahead than that.
He is DBX isn’t accurate. Narukami can use swap to a persona that null physical attacks, or put Jotaro to sleep. He could also use Izanagi-no-Okami who has one shot moves.

Why people don't get that just because it isn't written "stand user" on Yu it doesn't mean he can't? Taking a general guideline and apply it to every fictional story is just bias (instead, one should judge if a character can see and harm a stand by looking at the various definitions of stand).
Here, we're talking about: an 17-year-old boy who uses a cognitive/spiritual entity bounded by his soul vs. Another 17-year-old boy who uses multiple congitive/spiritual entities bounded by his soul.

Actually wrong. A stand is manifested by the fighting spirit. Even if a stand has a self consciousness, it is still you. A stand is given over different sorts of things but that doesn’t change it.

A Stand is described as manifestation of spiritual energy (iirc in part 7), a cognitive entity (made by the user's psyche most of the time) and shown to be affected by soul manipulation.
A Persona is the manifestation of the user's psyche, a cognitive entity (as made clear in P5).
I mentioned that exist multiple definitions of stand due to the fact that not all stands can described as manifestation of fighting spirit (Anubis and Sugar Mountain are an example of that)
Nicholas Part 7 is after the universe reset and so spinoff. Joseph explained in part 3 that a stand is the manifestation of the fighting spirit tho.

Jotaro wins this if Yu only uses Izanagi, but Yu has the wild card.
If Yu used the strongest persona statistically (Yoshitsune), Jotaro wouldn’t stand a chance.
That’s only because Yoshitsune is broken and is immune to physical attacks. This would also only count if they were inside the TV world, since Yu can’t summon his persona outside of it.
He probably could if he had enough willpower, just like how the P3 characters can use their Personas in the real world.

Since Yu has literally "reflect/absorb all damage" (Making all damage heal him), "Survive death up to 4 times", "Survive death at least once more", "Recover all HP/MP when a match ends" (including him escaping or leaving like at the end) and literal clothing capable of making him immune to any damage if everything else fails... I don't think he would be losing. Like ever.

Persona 4 is one of my all-time favorite video game of all time and I've never seen JoJo's BA before so I don't know what Jotaro is really capable of but as soon as I saw that time stop technique, I know Yu was finished lol
JJBA is a pretty old but popular and influential manga. Lots of series reference it. Also, several parts of Persona, including the concept of Personas themselves, the usage of Tarot cards, the part where they have to look for a murderer in a small town, and summoning Personas by shooting themselves in the head, were inspired by JoJo.

I was wondering, in canon, doesn't Yu gain access to 'The World' Persona at the end of the game, the strongest Persona, much like Jotaro gained access to 'The World' Stand?
I'm not nitpicking about the result, because I know how DBX works, but it seems odd to pit Jotaro after recieveing The World against Yu prior to recieving The World.

No, he could not see it at all or even be able to hurt it. Only a stand can hurt another stand and only a stand user/stand see another stand/stand user
In the JoJo universe, that is true. But we don't know how that extends to other worlds. If Personas are similar enough to Stands, the two powers might be able to interact. If another world has people who's powers relate to souls, they could probably at least detect the presence of Stands.

First of all, why should they be able to use abilities from p4 golden if they only used jotaro from part 3 and not 4. DBX used the base abilities for both of them with no influence from other mediums.
Secondly, How would you know that he wouldn't die from the rush attack?
DiU Jotaro is a weaker variant. You should mention SO Jotaro at the end of the Part, who not only has his 5 second time stat, but is also much faster. I assume you aren't including non-canonical sources, or else Jotaro could use Star Plotnium Over Heaven to rewrite all of Yu's abilities.

As much as I love Yu, facing off about somebody who can stop time is unable to end in a much different way.
Plus considering Jotaro goes toe to toe with other Stand users all the time, while Yu and his friends go through dungeons as a team most of the time, Jotaro is about to have more experience. Or just strength outright.

That Dude on the Internet This fight was stretched out. If Jotaro wanted, he could stop time once Yu tries to attack him and crush his heart, brain, or even simply use a flurry of ORAs. Even if they both didn’t have their ultimate Stands/Personas, Jotaro would completely destroy Yu in seconds if the video didn’t have to be longer than 10 seconds.

I thought it was P3 exclusive abilities...I mean a higher tier of defence in P4 is resistance (low, mid, hi)...while in P3 it ranges from Nullify and Absorbtion, be it physical attack or magical attack, with the exception of Almighty-based one...I could be wrong though, if they decided to change it at P4Golden cuz I haven't play that one

In the Persona 5 DLC, Izanagi is actually able to acquire Null Phys as one of it’s skills through leveling up but I guess it doesn’t count here. Just wanted to point that out.
