Hilltop Hoods are Aussie legends in the hip hop game, they are by far my favourite and bump their tunes daily.
I have a Hilltop playlist that I play every day at least three times. I start with Shredding the Balloon, which I find their best song.
The reason why they might sound a bit British is they are from Adelaide, our Aussie accent is more British or English sounding than the rest of Australia.
haha...I grew up in Adelaide. When I first moved to Brissy I used to get asked where in England I came from.
Hilltop hoods are Australian from Adelaide another big hit from them was "I love it" worth reacting to
Nosebleed section
Rule of thumb for me is if it seems British, but has an American vibe to it... It’s probably Australian
😂😂😂
Fair
Triple J is Australia's public Youth Radio Station. Three of the guest MC's are indigenous rappers, 2 of them often perform as a group cleverly called A.B.Original. The song is about Biggy Small's penchant for wearing the colourful sweaters that Bill Cosby made famous on his TV show. Biggy Smalls was one of their childhood rap idols. They come from a working class neighbourhood called Hilltop in Adelaide, where they actually went to school with Sia. She appears on their song 'I love It'. They Restrung several albums with an orchestra and toured with them. They have been rapping for 20 years and now own their own Record Label (Golden Era Records) and are responsible for promoting a lot of young talent in Australia (many appear on their songs). You can play a random 20 songs from their last 10 years and not find a dud. Most of their lyrics have an autobiographical lean (songs about a son's cancer diagnosis, "Through The Dark", Recovery from Alcoholism, "Shredding the Balloon", their journey from their Hilltop roots to owning a record label, "I Love It", to Coping with the Pandemic, "I'm Good?"), and they aren't afraid of making political and social commentary (Fifty in Five)... and not a rap feud in sight.
Hilltop hoods are from Australia, Aussie man here, I respect the reaction bruv 🍻💪🇦🇺
Godfathers of the Aussie Rap scene, no cap. They broke the ground and are pretty much the Australian OG's! Got to see em live at a small Pub gig when I was young & it was max hype!
They have a great song for the COVID pandemic. "I'm good' by Hilltop Hoods
Hoods! Adelaide represent 👊🏻
I absolutely love the Hilltop Hoods. Much love for their pandemic song ‘I’m Good’
The Hoodies are from the state of South Australia. Other states say we sound a bit British.
if you listen to the official clip you will get a better feel of where they are from and hear the flow and skill, Great aussie band that has been kicking around for years
pretty damn cool to see. this is like hip-hop mixed with some alt-rock/ pop sounding samples and some slightly less jazz-based drum breaks
If I knew they were playing at a small bar down the road, I'd go ...
*Meanwhile they're watching a concert in a packed out venue*
When they said “oy” and those shorts said Aussie.
Adelaide, the city of churches, acsent sound very British compared to other city in Australia.
True about the accent, but no longer the city of churches, it's now the city of festivals.
Saw them live in Tassie about 4 weeks ago. They were awesome. And yes we were drinking beer while listening to them.
Fun to see 3 blokes trying to figure out one of the biggest songs in AUS in years!
I'm an Aussie but it turns out I have a (Thames) estuary accent, and I come from Adelaide like these guys (and Sia).
saw these blokes in front of 15k peeps. GODS!
Actually we in Australia don't call them sweaters, we call them jumpers
Proudly Australian!!! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Pease react to "Leave me lonely" it's really good. Btw. They are Australian
Hilltop Hoods are huge in Australia and travel worldwide. This isn’t there best song or live performance. I feel sorry that they chose this one for you’d to do. Check out there stuff they have some belters
The Australian accent varies victoria and south Australia accents are more english sounding than in Queensland or new south Wales
Us from NSW & Qld are more bogan. WA is more slower in their accent.
All Aussies on stage and a few Aboriginal rappers towards the end.
Hilltop hoods stopping all stations. Thank me later 🤟🏼
Please react to the nose bleed section by the hilltop hoods which is these guys.
Cosby sweater is reference to choice of jumpers worn by US rappers in the 90s, e.g. Biggie Smalls….. HTH are awesome 👌
This Aussie band rocks the shit.
Longtime listener, first time commenter here... Please react to "I Love It" by Hilltop Hoods!
For Monday morning moan can you guys talk about the new football super league.
We did mate. Pretty much all about that. Out tomorrow 👍🏻
Great group. Should check out more of them. Also Grinspoon are a very successful Australian rock group that doesn't get any reactions or enough love!! Stay well blokes 🍻👍
British sounding? American Vibes ?
YOU 3 POM FOOLS !
Old school isn't so bad. Change for it's own sake leads to mumble rap, and no-one sensible wishes to go there.

You guys should definitely check out Baker Boy - Marryuna or really any song by Baker Boy!
Hilltop Hoods are Aussies from Adelaide.
Its old school because they are old . Been around for twenty years now. Those UK rappers were probably inspired by them . Some Aussies that saw them support M&M all said the Hill Top Hoods were far better than him and you an see from this live performance why. Killer rimes wrapped up in good times . No need to go on disrespecting women , cops or doing drugs , shooting people etc. I love it is another good one but they have a huge back catalog.
What’s Ben stokes doing here

ehh this one is no for me dawg. I cant get past when people with accents rap.
Anyone understand a word of that rap? Me either.
Couldn't understand at least half of what they said which is y I don't like rap, I just don't pick up most of it, it just sounds like mumbling to me
I like rap very much and I couldn't understand them
Listen to the normal version of it, wasn't the best recording.
this is barely hiphop
