San Francisco is such a fascinating destination to enjoy a vacation! The Victorian houses at Alamo square were charming; it is a wonderful sight to see while exploring San Francisco.
San Francisco-my absolute favorite city! I grew up in the Bay Area but hadn't been back for many years until 2021. I stayed on the other side of the Bay Bridge and the traffic going to and from San Francisco was horrendous 24/7. The amount of homeless in California is terrible to see but that would never stop me from visiting San Francisco. The city and its many cites are too beautiful to pass up. Sure wish the cost of everything hadn't skyrocketed in California. It takes lots of extra planning and saving to visit now.
San Francisco. The absolute epitome of a mixed bag city. While absolutely gorgeous with a boat load and a half of things to do at any time with some freakin amazing food to go along with it, it's also way too crowded, expensive, with a fair bit of a homeless issue. Still, I really enjoy visiting this place whenever I can.
Very well put. I could not have said it better and completely agree. The comments on YT about SFO are ridiculously negative, it's nowhere near as bad as many people try to make out.
@@bonzo319 dont get me wrong, I loved SFO when I visited, it's an amazing city and overall definitely worth visiting, so please dont be put off. I would not want to put anyone off visiting.. It does have some problems though. That was the point I was agreeing with.
Tony thank you for sharing this to me, I 💕 love it. Although I've not been there, I've seen these beautiful famous tourists spots in movies, But with what's happening in America now, are these beautiful spots still intact, or already defaced or cancelled? What a pity.
You can take public transportation (Muni line #28) to get from the city to the the entrance of the Golden Gate Bridge. Walk across the bridge, enjoy the amazing view, walk back to take the #28 again, and go back to the city.
I would add the Walt Disney family musuem. Its really amazing all the stuff they have to show. Toward the end they have a model of Disneyland thorough the years and it is byond epic. If your a Disney fan or a fan of animation the musuem is not to be missed.
These videos are so informative and I love it! They give me such a great guide before my travels to think about content and where I want to go with it!
Very well put together video. I like that you listed a number for each location. A lot of people forget to do that and you end up not knowing where the next location starts or ends. Your organization was very good. The viewer can follow easily.
So my dad’s company might be sold and if it is we might be chosen to live in San Francisco!!! This video really helped a lot and it got me even more excited! I hope I can go!! Thanks for reading and wish me luck :D
I last visited San Francisco, with my family, about eight years ago. We spent a week in the city and its environs and we really loved our time there. Sorry to hear it has gone downhill in recent years, based on some of the comments below. Yep, we did see quite a number of homeless on the streets and being from Europe that was a bit of a shock. That’s not to say that we don’t have our own developing problems with homelessness in some European cities.
Places that I would recommend (as a local) that are NOT included in this video. These are additional places that we take guests when they visit: 1.) Twin Peaks: Located just south of the easternmost end of Golden Gate Park, Twin Peaks offers some fantastic vistas of the city. From the two peaks, you can see the entire city, ocean, bay and surrounding area. It's also free (although you might have to wait for an open parking space). Due to the winding roads and city backdrop, there are quite a few car commercials filmed here. 2.) Muir Woods National Monument: Although this is located just a short distance north of the Golden Gate Bridge (and not in the city itself), it is a must-see for anyone who visits the city or area for the first time. Muir Woods is home to hundreds of acres of "old growth" giant coastal redwood trees. These trees were here when Sir Francis Drake explored this part of the California coast in the 16th Century. It is relatively inexpensive to visit ($10 for adults) and parking now requires reservations or the use of shuttles. However, it is worth the visit. I'm a card-carrying yearly pass member -- and I've been at least 30 times. There are plenty of hiking trails. I would recommend the 1.5 flat main lower trail (which is a flat surface) for children or adults with some walking difficulties (or those who don't want to risk getting their shoes dirty). If you're interested in a bit more challenge (but still limited on time), I'd do the Hillside Trail. The Hillside Trail still goes through the paved trail; however, instead of going back the same way, you can return to the park entrance through an adjacent hill trail. Either way, make sure to stop in CATHEDRAL GROVE, the bridges and look for wildlife (e.g., fish, birds, wildcats and the elusive "banana slug"). 3.) Sausalito: Located near the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge, this offers some fantastic dining and shopping with great views of the city. 4.) Point Bonita Lighthouse and old military batteries: Located along the Marin Headlands near the mouth of the Golden Gate (where the bay meets the Pacific Ocean), the light is amazing! It offers some fantastic views of the city and Golden Gate Bridge. Add the various military batteries, and you'll find some great history set on the backdrop of sweeping ocean/cliffside vistas! If you want to go inside the lighthouse, make sure to check the times and calendar. You have to go through a bridge and cave to get there -- and the entrance is locked if the lighthouse keepers aren't present. 5.) Marine Mammal Center: Just off of Rodeo Beach, you'll find a center that rehabilitates various marine mammals. There is a tour offered that is donation-only. 6.) Pacifica, California (including Devil's Slide): Located adjacent to the city on historic Highway 1, you'll find some fantastic beaches, nice eating places and some hiking areas. There is the coolest Taco Bell in America on one beach (complete with beach-side seating windows to watch the surfers and a special outdoor window to order food from the deck). I'd recommend picking up some BBQ at Gorilla BBQ and having a picnic at Devil's Slide or Rockaway Beach. Devil's Slide has some of the best views along the Pacific coast! There are two places to park (on the north and south sides of the area). The north side is less crowded. The south side offers the best views (especially if you're not going to walk or bicycle the entire road). 7.) Land's End: This remarkable trail is one of San Francisco's best-kept secrets! From the parking lots near the ruins of the old Pacific bath houses (complete with ocean-side caves) to the where-ocean-meets-bay trails, you'll find lots to admire from this location! There are some different memorials very near the trails too. You'll love the magnificent views -- and the fact that you won't find many tourists here. 8.) Boudin Bakery: This is at Fisherman's Wharf. It is where sour dough was invented. So, yeah. 9.) Musée Mécanique: Also located at Fisherman's Wharf, you'll discover a FREE museum filled with arcade games -- most going back to the 19th Century! Bring some quarters though! 10.) Presidio: Located at an old former military base at the southern end of the Golden Gate Bridge, this is where Star Trek's "Starfleet Academy" was supposed to be based. It is, ironically, the home to offices of Lucasfilm LTD, Skywalker Sound, THX, Industrial Light & Magic, etc. You can take a nice photo of the Yoda fountain. On many days, you can enter the Lucasfilm offices and check out some props from the movies. It is surrounded by beautiful parks and trees -- and within walking distance of the Palace of Fine Arts. You can also visit the Walt Disney Family Museum too.
Need to make it top 11 and add Ocean Beach. As a kid I spent many fun days out on Ocean Beach. My grandfather even showed me where to dig for gold out there. He said in the early gold rush, there was a boomtown on the beach.

When I make vef back there in 81 my son and bf were like tourists when we went out. I was born and raised there. I knew where the non tourist places were/are. Prob a lot of new ones
It's really not THAT cold. It's sweater weather. In three years living there, I can't remember ever reaching freezing temperatures. Unlike here in Texas, and despite popular notion, we do get freezing weather at least one or two weeks in January/February. But after living in San Francisco for some time, you get used to the 40-50 degree weather there.
I have a great friend who lives in the Tenderloin. Of course it's a hardcore part of town, but, he doesn't cower in his apartment. He has a great time in the city. I live in Cambodia so I haven't been there in 4 years. I suggest to any visitor to explore SoMa, North beach, Chinatown, the Marina, visit Alcatraz, Delores Park, Valencia street, Golden Gate Park and it's attractions. San Francisco is still great. What you'd rather be in Cleveland? Hahahahaha
TBH places like the Victorian houses and Lombard street are kind of a rip-off. I'd suggest the Deyoung museum, Golden gate park, the tea gardens, the academy of sciences, the botanical gardens, north beach (they got some amazing cannoli), the mission district (for awesome street art and good food), Ashbury/Haight for some cool hippy and punk culture, pier 39/fishermans warf, china town, japan town, and just walking around. The cliff house has some awesome history, but awful food so I guess I recommend it, but don't get lunch there. There's a lot of fun things to try when just walking around so just go for a walk and you're bound to find some wild stuff.
I have been visiting the Haight-Ashbury district, Market Street, Golden Gate Park, Richmond District and the Financial District quite frequently these past few months, and haven't seen ONE needle or human waste on the floor. Some people (many who haven't even been to SF or visited the past few years) are GREATLY over exaggerating about the issue like 90% of the time you're gonna see a needle or human waste randomly lying around somewhere. Every time I visit SF, it's a pleasant experience for the most part. I hope the homelessness/drug crisis gets worked out soon though, as SF it too beautiful of a city to have that reputation as a whole. With that being said, MOST of SF is not what some people (news media) is painting it out to be, and this is all from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. I've visited quite a few big cities in my lifetime, and San Francisco is still one of my favorites.
Joseph Contreras market street is one of the most disgusting places in sf. Just go to the bart station or near the tenderloin right next to market and you’ll see how nasty it really is
Lil Js41 Part of your statement is true. A part of Market street is rough for sure, like when you get closer to the Tenderloin and 6th street (SOMA area). Believe me, I know lol, as I take BART quite frequently when I visit SF from Daly City. But to say the WHOLE Market street is disgusting is far from the truth. It’s a very long street that goes through numerous districts. The point I’m trying to make is that MOST of San Francisco is quite normal (besides the outrageous cost of living lol). San Francisco is way too big of a city (with 119 neighborhoods/districts) to judge it as a whole based on a few rough small areas or neighborhoods.
@@liljs4189 Just today I parked my truck along 10th St south of Market. My back right tire came within 6 inches of squishing a fresh pile of human shit. I could smell it the whole time I was loading my tools. Fucking disgusting. Time to jail the junkies and drunks. The reports of shit on the sidewalks and streets are not exaggerated. Boycott San Francisco until they clean up the shit and the human debris that leaves it everywhere.
@@liljs4189 I live there, and I don't find anything offensive about it. Perhaps you are just very fortunate that you live in a lovely place. Maybe you should just stay there.
If you come to San Francisco DO NOT! leave ANYTHING! in your vehicle. The window will be smashed and everything stolen. I mean don't leave ANYTHING! not a phone charger, bag, coat, shoes, Dead cat, NOTHING!! Every place in San Francisco, from "tourist places", hospitals, City hall, EVERYWHERE has this car break in problem and people have been hurt trying to catch these crooks.
Zheng I see tourist all the time, with their vehicle window smashed, looking lost and shocked that someone stole their things. There are, at minimum, 85 vehicle windows smashed everyday in San Francisco. LEAVE NOTHING IN A VEHICLE! Don't walk around with your cellular phone in your hand, there are many snatch and run thief's. If someone takes your belongings, Don't chase or fight them. People, including police have been injured
Yes, i was just there last month and it was all over the news. A serious problem they are having. The drive down Hyde street heading towards the interstate is sketchy also
San Francisco is beautiful and there is a lot to do in the city and nearby, but there is so much more than these 10 attractions. I wouldn't have even chosen some of these. But it's just an opinion.
Fisherman’s wharf and the bridge were spectacular when I visited on vacation last year and even made a pilgrimage to the haight-ashbury district ✌️ the only thing I didn’t get to do was go to the Castro district out of respect for people like Harvey milk. And watching this makes me more determined than ever to move there and also California in general
As a Bay Area resident of 20+ years I can attest that San Francisco went exponentially from Bad to Worse in just past 5 years. Real estate and cost of living prohibitive prices drove out the locals and majority of the middle class. Now the city is dominated mainly by the East Coast transplants that brought their self-entitled attitudes with them. The city has the sense of community no more. Newcomers treat the city as their personal amusement park with zero care to locals, elderly, families. The city officials are more preoccupied with attracting tech giants than cleaning up the city. Police acts as social workers vs actually enforcing the law. SF has the most homeless - homeless people in US. There are homeless in all major cities, but then there is Shutter Island level in SF. Customer service is mainly horrible, prices are way too high for anything, restaurants and bars will employ the dirtiest tricks in the industry just to keep the overhead low. Union Square is swarming with hookers from East Bay and their pimps. Street crime is all time high, you car will get broken into, you ill get punched, robbed, and in some areas right in the center of the town you will get killed by a drug addict. If you care about yourself do not take Bart. The open drug usage, needles, human feces, urine took over. Stay away from Townsend --> 5th Street -- > Market and Market 9th Street back down to Townsend Quadrant. Stay away from Polk/Post/Tenderloin, Bayview, Parts of Mission, Potrero Hills. If you want to see South Central in SF go to Sunnydale Avenue. If you want to be safe, stay away from about 80% of SF, just stroll up and down the Embarcadero. I predict that in the next 5 years the city will be ran by Salesforce and Google, and the rest will be just visiting.
I lived in San Francisco from 1990 to 2004...and 6 years before that in Sausalito. Sad to hear about the sorry state of SF. Used to live a few blocks from the Tenderloin. I would avoid the Tenderloin and South of Market like the plague. Polk area was starting to suck real bad too...lower Polk towards the wharf was great though.
You forgot: The Embarcadero, Union square, Presidio, The Walt Disney House, Coit Tower, North Beach (Italian community), Ghillardelli's Square, and Dolores Park
Frank Snapp Is there anywhere in SF to experience an Italy vibe? So North Beach doesn’t give you that? I am visiting and would love somewhere like that!
@@SooBeautyFull I've lived in the Bay Area for about 30yrs and I just noticed that area of north beach. I'm not Italian, so to me it doesn't have an Italian vibe, but Columbus street probably have the highest number of Italian restaurants in one location in the Bay Area. Seems like a good area to grab a nice meal and sit outside, relax and just people watch. Now how's the food and prices, don't ask me I don't eat Italian food; too fattening and greasy for my body lol. Enjoy.
In 1915, The Palace Of fine Arts was built already before the fair. Fires don't burn down such structures built out of stone and they were not built by horse and carriage.

I've been in some places mentioned here, but not all.. there are other many tourism attraction in SF
I have been to all because I live there. There is so many better things though that aren't bombarded with tourists.
@@audrey8412and the best place must be at home
@@BudionoSukses Yeah it is actually lol
When I make vef back there in 81 my son and bf were like tourists when we went out. I was born and raised there. I knew where the non tourist places were/are. Prob a lot of new ones
Visited all the places 😍
It's really not THAT cold. It's sweater weather. In three years living there, I can't remember ever reaching freezing temperatures. Unlike here in Texas, and despite popular notion, we do get freezing weather at least one or two weeks in January/February.
But after living in San Francisco for some time, you get used to the 40-50 degree weather there.
I agree٫ Sf in january was warmer than lake tahoe in may from my experience😂
A grande paixão da minha vida, se chama San francisco.te amo de verdade.
Great list for SF!
So beautiful city! I love it!
Hahahahaha
It looks so clean...
It's not.
@@baxiesmom5283 *IT IS.*
One day who knows I hope I can go to the San Francisco. It's my dream.
We hope you get there! It seems a great place to visit and explore.
Nice video thanks! This video shows the Salesforce Tower under construction which is now the tallest building.😀
Great video! I love San Francisco!❤❤❤
So beautiful ❤
Walk down Columbus Ave for a great view of Transamerica Building + access to plenty of the best Italian North Beach has to offer
I can't wait to be in San Francisco next week! 😀
In Fisherman Warf pier 39 the best place is Image Arts gift shop and Jason Naylor😌
Nice job with this video!!!!!
NICE VIDEO ,I USED TO LIVE IN PRESITA AND THEN MISSION STREET
Very good vid! Thanks. :D
....even more beautiful....no “chrump” buildings !!!
Beautiful 😊
Some great suggestions there.
Joseph Contreras fair point
@@liljs4189
Just today I parked my truck along 10th St south of Market.
NAILED IT!
It's sad but true.
The drive down Hyde street heading towards the interstate is sketchy also
If you can manage it, avoid the rental car altogether and stash your most expensive valuables in your hotel safe.
Dead cat
San Francisco is beautiful and there is a lot to do in the city and nearby, but there is so much more than these 10 attractions. I wouldn't have even chosen some of these. But it's just an opinion.
Thank you
I recommend to visit Italian Town right in the middle of Stockton St. ...
Can't wait to go there so i could finish my college
I went to San Francisco a few months ago and it felt like home

Nice video. But I would substitute the Transamerica building with twin peaks.
Also, The Mission gets an honorable mention.
Twin Peaks looks a great place to get away from things for a while and enjoy the views.
I love you San franciso😍💯💋❤️
Fisherman’s wharf and the bridge were spectacular when I visited on vacation last year and even made a pilgrimage to the haight-ashbury district ✌️ the only thing I didn’t get to do was go to the Castro district out of respect for people like Harvey milk. And watching this makes me more determined than ever to move there and also California in general
One the best travel videos ! Looking forward to visiting this beautiful city again ! I envy people you live there !
Where is the place at 3:55?

_Google_ agree sad to say
I lived in San Francisco from 1990 to 2004...and 6 years before that in Sausalito. Sad to hear about the sorry state of SF. Used to live a few blocks from the Tenderloin. I would avoid the Tenderloin and South of Market like the plague. Polk area was starting to suck real bad too...lower Polk towards the wharf was great though.
Did the local move to the Northwest...like Portland?! Seems like were getting nothing but transplants
The left is what's ruined SF and the entire great State of California
Enjoy.
Alot more to but dont give it out dam..Now where going to more people there daaaam..we have enough people here go away its our own poop city.
@ yes there is!! Just not as big as others..North beach but there are other communities..They even have thier own italian cemitary towards daly city!

Watch every step you take in San Francisco. There is human shit on the sidewalks.

The best view of SF is the one from your rearview mirror.
Is this hate?
Beautiful but crowded
Actually, the Salesforce Tower is the tallest building in San Francisco.
But this video was posted in 2017
@@pdx96 True. Nevertheless, you can already see from the video itself that the Salesforce tower is already there and is visibly taller.
Ray Chiu so? It surpassed the pyramid in 2017.
It was opened in 2018٫ this video was posted before that :)
Ah!! Good ole FRISCO

@@possumperson3811 The bridge is beautiful٫ and a lot of people including me have a connection to it
In 1915, The Palace Of fine Arts was built already before the fair. Fires don't burn down such structures built out of stone and they were not built by horse and carriage.
Mission district is a must see

San Francisco is beautiful, you should do one of Milwaukee, Milwaukee is a beautiful Midwest city that's located in Wisconsin
