Some fun facts about Spartanburg. It is home to 7 colleges and universities and the SC School for the Deaf and Blind. It has one of the oldest law firms in the US, est 1825, the only active train tunnel in the state, it had the first airport, radio station, artists guild and philanthropic community foundation fund in the state, it is where the first college football game in SC was played, it is the birthplace of the song “Amazing Grace” and the Marshall Tucker Band, the Pink in Pink Floyd was named for a Spartanburg musician, Elvis Presley one performed in Spartanburg and Martin Luther King’s uncle was once pastor of a church in Spartanburg.
I just bailed on Florida after living there since 1964. I'm now in NE Georgia, right on the SC border. -- Looking at alternatives, just in case this area doesn't work out.
