Been messing around with diets for years and always struggled with energy and sleep.
I naturally nave slog of muscle mass at 92kg and usually sit around 12-14% body fat but Last year did so much fasting and removed eggs and stuff from my diet and thought fasting and keto was the way and by the end of the year I went almost suicidal.
I noticed morning wood going and I was becoming very anxious and depressed
I was loosing muscle from a lack of protein aswell
I had lost 15kg in a matter of months and got down to 8% body fat without me realising!
This year I’ve gone back to my Slow carb diet with a load more meat, eggs and bit of fruit around workouts and removed all of the seed oils and stuff and these past months I feel amazing!
Sauna weekly, removing plastic from foods and bottles, swapping non stick to cast iron, strength training and high intensity training but not overtraining, and remembering that this takes time to raise testosterone.
Past 2 months I’m waking up with morning wood every morning and feeling fantastic! Will never let my self get back to that
I’m still recovering but I’m back to 92kg now (6 foot 2) and I’m grateful for the lessons learnt.
No more crazy diets and just to eat how we should do

    Here is a ChatGPT summary:
    - Testosterone levels in men are declining worldwide, regardless of age or obesity.
    - Adrenopause is a phenomenon where testosterone precursors start to decline, which is problematic.
    - DHEA, a precursor to testosterone, starts to decline in the 30s.
    - Nutritional strategies and supplements can help optimize testosterone levels, such as zinc, magnesium, and vitamin D.
    - Calorie restriction and excessive fasting can lower testosterone levels.
    - Sun exposure can increase testosterone levels.
    - Sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) increases with age, reducing the bioavailability of testosterone.
    - Boron supplements may not be effective for increasing testosterone levels.
    - Tongkat Ali may help reduce SHBG levels in older individuals.
    - Adaptogenic herbs like ashwagandha can support adrenal health.
    - Muscle mass is important for glucose and insulin regulation.
    - Dehydration may have an impact on testosterone levels.

My husband at age 61, testosterone was 1410 3 months ago. He was taking 50mg DHEA, no trt. I was worried about possible cancer. But after some research, I found out that vitamin D could have some effect on testosterone. He was taking high dosage of vitamin D (20,000 iu) at the time because of COVID. He stopped taking DHEA and reduced vitamin D to 10,000 iu. Tested again recently and it came down to 937. So the reverse very possible to be true for those who want to increase testosterone.

Great info mike, been fighting low testosterone myself this year so very interested in the subject, but on the other side of it now. Just a few notes, the DHT 'anabolic' discussion was just a mix up between anabolic and androgenic, you're right in saying that DHT is much more 'androgenic' (male characteristics) than testosterone but it's not very anabolic (muscle building/repair). Secondly, Enclomiphene citrate is a really good alternative to Clomid/Clomiphene if you experience side effects as it works in the same way but without the same impact on the estrogen receptor in the brain which can cause libido issues for a lot of people.

Sec hormone binding globulin doesn't reduce testosterone. It binds it to receptors for use.
As in activities or habits that increase testosterone (and testosterone itself and the habits and activities being bad for you technically like meat saturated fats and even exercise itself can increase risk for atherosclerosis and heart disease) must be lowered once they are increased not by reducing it through reducing total testosterone levels but by binding free testosterone with SHBG. It's a GOOD thing.
Coffee increases SHBG supposedly but also increases total testosterone levels as well.
You need to understand that it's not just about maximizing testosterone. You need to understand how to USE IT AND WHEN TO REDUCE IT.

My T was super low when I tested last year. It was 303 and I’m not 40 yet. Alarming. I was under lots of stress and having panic attacks. I haven’t tested again ever after, but my sleep is still disrupted and libido is low. So I know T is still low. I’m taking 30mg of zinc, should I raise to 75mg?

I'm on opiods atm because of chronic pain and my doctor even told me that my testosterone will go down and yes, my libido went down and it even wouldnt get very hard 😮
Only thing that worked was injecting testo, 0,35ml every 3rd day atm and I am back into action....my girlfriend seems happy about my performance😂
I know everything about long term effects, but it just feels great as fkc. Will stop when I get off the opioid

usually the testosterone (trt) honeymoon wears off around 3 months or so when you start to miss some precursor and other hormones. i'd try everything you can to go back the natural route including Mike's advice. just tryin to help a fellow bro out. i'm trying to quit years of TRT now. luckily i always took HCG so the boys come back but everything else... remains to be seen. also enclomiphene is the new hotness btw clomid sucks :)

I'm assuming my test must have gone up substantially? nothing has changed really other than adding one sprinting session a week to my exercise routine and taking collagen.

The data with regard to this is so conflicting that it is very difficult to know who to believe.
I have done some research on this and I think that a low testosterone level associated with high estrogen is bad for prostate cancer.
So, optimal testosterone/estrogens/DHT levels (let say mid numbers in the reference range) are desired to stay away from prostate cancer.

Now at 70 y old is dufficult to have high T level. A diet with low carbs, high fat (eggs, meat, fatty fish, animal organs) for sure increases testosterone levels in all men. This diet would optimize the estrogen levels as well. Stay away from alcohol, sugars, grains, cereals or consume them around the time of exercise. Fruits can be consumed in low quantities as well.
This is a versatile carnivore diet and boost testosterone.
Some plant based supplements such as Tongkat Ali and Fadogia Aggrestis might be useful in this regard as well.
