By abandoning Ukraine by denying them the means to defend themselves, would only embolden Putin and encourage him to go on the offensive, as he thinks the time is ripe to throw everything at Ukraine. If the Allies fail to stick by Ukraine to the end, all previous support would have been wasted. Ukraine cannot be expected to over perform forever. Every minute that is wasted, thinking what to do, needlessly cost Ukrainian lives and limbs.

I watched that twice and then asked myself, if Biden cared about Ukrainian lives why did he pull American troops out of Ukraine and offer President Zelinsky a flight out after Russia invaded in February 2022? Why did he deny Ukraine's urgent need for critical military aid for months only to eventually give them some of it and in such small quantities? Why didn't he urge the Democrat majority in the US Senate to pass the Bill the US House sent them with $61 billion in new aid for Ukraine last December?
@@506thparatrooper A direct confrontation of American troops with Russia would inevitably lead to a much bigger conflict, perhaps even nuclear. Even in the Soviet era both sides wanted to avoid it all cost. A flight out was offered to Zelensky because everyone thought that Ukraine can't withstand a full scale invasion and even in optimistic scenarios at the time military experts thought it would take a few weeks until Kiev is taken. Ukraine did what no one expected of them, they exceeded everyone's expectations and held out the worst. They did more than anyone could ask of them. Now it has become a war of attrition and it should mean bad news for Russia as their economy is peanuts compared to the economy of the West collectively. It's on us that Russia is still winning.

During the Soviet era, there were multiple hostile engagements between American and Soviet & Warsaw pact forces. Those 300,000 American Soldiers in Western Europe held back a much stronger Soviet Union than the weak Russian military defeated by Ukraine almost daily. America did not back down during the Berlin airlift nor the Cuban missile crisis. Had Biden left American troops in Ukraine and rapidly provided Ukraine with critical ATACMs, HIMARS, F-16's, Patriot air defense systems, Abram tanks, etc instead of showing weaknesses, no flight out would be necessary for President Zelensky. This is why a dictator armed with nukes or not fears an American army led by a lion instead of an appeasing old goat like Biden. Same Biden who disgracefully left tens of thousands of Afghanis to perish.

Yes, the US Congress should provide the money and weapons to the Ukraine to defend themselves and not to Israel who are decimating Gaza. The EU should come up with more money because the threat on the continent is dire. Putin is also threatening using nuclear weapons. NATO has nuclear weapons as well as France, but of course, using them would be suicidal.

While I agree we need to help our allies especially when they are losing against a non-ally. I think its important that europe recognizes they need american support in terms of defense. This is the first attack since world war II and europe is again dependent.

What I was criticizing is not the political positions of Europe as a whole, more so the anti-American rhetoric I have seen and heard from Europeans generally. nope they had plenty of time to develop a capable military they supposedly have all these great fighters but nothing to fight with or defend with ... why we have been giving them money for a good while now
Up until the invasion their entire military was based on Warsaw Pact calibers and equipment. Setting up a sufficient production for 155 mm shells is something neither America nor Europe was able to do quickly enough, let alone Ukrine. It takes time.
It's insanely hard to build and secure large military facilities in Ukraine where everything is in reach of Russian long-range missiles. There a some projects in development in cooperation with Germany and potentially France but it's more long-term.

D) I support Ukraine and think we should be helping them. I just don’t think that everyone who disagrees with that is a “Russian bot.”
