Drove for nearly 30 years only had one issue. Was I a piece of junk of a truck an trailer goin west into Salt Lake City an ended up in a run-a-way- ramp do to faulty break's !
I had complained about them for almost a week prior with ni luck ! Oh an the trank did not have a Jake break on it eather !
Took the tow truck 4 hrs to drag me out an busted a few chains an a cable along the way ! That was one scary ride !

I learned to drive in Northern NJ and NYC without power steering when I was 18 ! If I was close to hitting something I got out and looked ! Worked out well for me !!
Armstrong power steering! Had the "spinner" on the steering wheel, and kept the truck creeping ever so slightly.
It worked out pretty well for me too.

At 9:31. The old Truck Driver was coming in a town. He saw a cop car parked. That's why he grabbed his belt & held it. Instead of paying attention to the road ahead of him like the RR crossing. He mind was on watching the cop (mirror) instead of the train / signal. He stopped on the tracks (no crossing bar - only lights). Got hit & got more than a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt.
I love these videos. I am a school bus mechanic and the stuff my drivers hit amazes me!

@@kaveman3981 Always loved southeast Iowa on a wet spring thaw. You could see trucks and farm tractors sitting on their frame rails. That is when you know that you are really stuck!

This brings me back to the dealership days when I spent months straight programming heartland and swift trucks to 62mph because they got too many tickets and wrecks.
The best one I heard was about a driver that got stuck under an overpass. A state trooper showed up and said ... did you get stuck? And without missing a beat the truck driver said . . Naw I was hauling this overpass and I ran out of gas. Lmfao

14:29 I think the man in the right seat was the trainer. Since he was paying more attention to his phone instead of his trainee, he knows his job is gone now.
Yeah apparently the one driving was a trainee and the guy looking at his phone the instructor. They got lost and didn't think of stopping to find out where they were. Saw it in another video and had the story to it from there.

They're talking about forcing all auto makers to install them. It's bs too. It's not in the name of safety. It's competely for revenue. Imagine getting pulled over by a motorcycle cop and getting a ticket for not wearing a seat belt.

im not a trucker but I remember I saw a trucker barrel down a mountain pass and hit the center median, which caused a traffic jam. As I drove by him, I asked him if he forgot to brake. He yelled, I use Jake to break. I was like what the hell? You're telling me that someone else is breaking his truck? 😂

I think most of us know who's ruined trucking. It's so far from when my dad drove. Now, from what I hear on here, is wages have been lowered drastically. These people do the same thing to almost every industry. Carpentry is crap today, and wages killed.

8:25 Yes, I DID do it. EMPTY 53' + VERY icy roads + high winds = That. No Damage to the truck or any 4 wheelers. The Truck was idling forward due to the road conditions. A strong gust of wind hit the truck from the side and spun it around 180* before for I even had a chance to say "10-4". I spent the next week prying the driver's seat out for the crack of my ***. I had a death grip on that thing.

Got up part way then some how backed up a angeled driveway then tried to do a 130 degree u turn on platte cove Rd saugerties NY for 24 hours.. he almost slide over the edge of a Cliff.. in the news locally last week.. thank you...

When I worked for Fairmont Supply here in Fairmont our Washington PA main branch drivers and even a manager there hit the same bridge so many times they banned their drivers from using that route completely. That’s pretty bad

I got sent to a place yesterday , a residence , with a tandem axle tractor and 53 foot tandem axel trailer. I asked the guy if he had trucks in there before and he said "yes , but I thought you would be in a 5 ton. I unloaded his frozen cod into the back of his pick up on the road.
