Update: there is a new APP called DMSS which is available now and it replaces iDMSS Lite and iDMSS PLUS. Both the predecessors was quite unreliable with the push notifications to mobile phones but this new one seems to work so much better. I can do a vid if anyone is interested in it.
Hi Gavin - thanks for your video. I have the VTO2000A and VTH1510CH set up, very similar to yours, and trying to get the mobile app working but can't find the devices to add in the DMSS and iDMSS apps and I can't even get in to the web login interface using 192.168.1.110 . Do you have any advice on how to troubleshoot?
Terrie F for the web login via IP, you need to use Internet explorer. All other browsers just show a grey screen. For the dms app, the devices don’t automatically show up for you to add. You need to hit the + then add via IP/Domain and enter the IP address of the device. If It’s LAN then it will be the 192.168.1.09 or your external IP address with the port 37777 You will need to port forward first though
Hi Gavin - could you please do a vid of your new DMSS app set up? I can get the DMSS notifications and live camera when my mobile is on the home wifi, but when I'm on say 4G I get the notification but times out when i try to answer the call
@@terrief2083 Hi Terry i can if i get some time. maybe just check the stream settings and make sure its under "Main" and not SUB. It could also be simply your network may be weak. If youre getting the notifications outside of your network whilst on 4G, it means the device is correctly set up in your router and it can get out via the port forward. The quality of the voice or the issue of timing out may be a network coverage issue instead.

Is there any way to disable the "Engrish" oozing out of the speaker? Silence would be far preferable. Also, assuming you're not using your doorbell to put your baby to sleep, can the alert tone on the indoor unit be changed? There's so much crap available (even from reputable manufacturers like Dahua) that I'm about to resign myself to simply wedging the insides of a SIP 'phone and cheap ONVIF camera into an empty intercom box.
Yorick Hunt hi mate, I looked into that myself. You can disable the “the door is unrocked” announcement via the indoor interface or the web interface. As for the door chime, that’s also configurable to one of 5 .pcm files via the internal unit but I don’t know if you can add to or replace the .pcm files
Yorick Hunt yea they are a bit hit and miss. Most of them use google translate for our questions in English which often confuses AliExpress merchants more. Glad I could help.

Anthony Valasiadis you need to set that up in the app. Look for a subscribe to alarms setting in the iDMSS app. You may also need to “allow push notifications” on your phone settings.

Nived Joseph I suspect the Dahua units have proprietary software that requires their POE switch to work. The POE itself isn’t expensive (USD $55) and has active 6 ports. Any reason you want to use a regular switch with injected power ? Do you just have spare capacity? You could order 1 intercom and 1 screen to test on regular switch first but for the sake of $110 I’d use their POE to save any networking conflicts.
Hey guys, do we know if we can use a non Dahua POE switch with this intercom yet? I have spare ports available on my 8 port switch which also runs my cameras. I could do what gavin advised and purchase just bell and monitor. But interested to know if its been tested. Cheers
Boris the bullet dodger - I've connected a 12volt - 1ampere adaptor and connected the indoor screen to the regular switch and it looks good so far.. communication is set.. however I didn't configure the intercom yet.
Thanks Nivid. Please let me know if the 12v/data combo works when configured. As for the intercom switch, the cost doesn't bother me it's just that I don't want an extra switch on my network if I can use my current POE switch. Can't find any info anywhere.

Download from the appstore. Its called iDMS lite and its free (both android and ios). Once installed, it give you options to view CCTV Camera, Door or Alarm. Select Door This will launch a "Live Preview" page but because its not yet configured, it will be blank. Select the icon on the top right of screen. It looks like a an intercom with 3 lines. This takes you to the Add Device page. Select "Add Device". It will prompt you to ensure your system is on the network and turned on. Select IP/Domain then input the details NAME: Whatever you want to call it Address: This is your external IP address. The default is 192.168.1.110 but if you google "Whats my IP address" it will provide you with your networks external address. Input that. Port: 37777 (Default) Username: (default is admin) Password: (whatever youve set or the default is also admin) Audio only: (Leave that to off) Once done, select Start Live Preview and it should show you a live stream. If it doesnt work, it means you haven't port forwarded 192.168.1.110. Thats another step you will need to learn how to do on your own modem. Its typically under Games and services of your modem setting. Let me know if you get stuck, i can try to help
I’ve been using this intercom set up for about a year now and it’s working really well. I’ve been thinking about intergrating a dahua cctv system by adding an IP camera and possibly an NVR to record. I’m assuming I just need to connect the Camera and NVR to the switch and configure??? Has anyone done this by any chance or knows if this will work or not?
i run a Hikvision CCTV camera system with a Hikvision DVR/POE Switch. They are very similar in how they are configured and will work. The Dahua APP, IDMS Lite or Plus will give you the added advantage of a single mobile APP to view CCTV & the Villa door.

Like you, I've searched and searched online for tutorials, help, guides etc and came up short. Following your advice in the vid, I have all the cables connected properly, have the Power and Run lights lit up on the VTNS1060a - which also powers on the screens (I have a VTH1550ch & VTH1510ch). I have tried entering 192.168.1.110 into my browsers for Chrome, IE & Firefox however cannot gain access. Are there steps I'm missing?? Hi willow Does the units work (I.e bell rings when you push button and also rings on display) but you just can’t get access to the config user interface? I know this is obvious but check your PC is on the same network, preferably connected via cable and not wifi. I’m no expert but it worked for me on PC but won’t work on Apple Macs.
@@K9Ren I just pressed the button and one of the monitors lit up and rang (wow that was loud!). Yes, I'm running Windows 10 and have my modem physically connected to the computer. So to confirm, you didn't need to go into your control panel > network settings and manually change your IPV4 details? Just simply popped the 192.168.1.110 into an address bar?
Update: so I've logged into my router settings and cannot see any of the Dahua devices within my Connected Devices list... hmmmm. I have also noticed that of the devices listed use the following protocol 192.168.0.x - somebody helllllp :(

HI Thierry, Once you install the app on a smartphone and configure the IP Address, username and Password, the doorbell will signal the VTH and any mobile devices that are configured in almost realtime. You can see from the vid its a bout a second delay between the VTH and the mobile device ringing. It will push to as many mobile devices as you have configured. We have 4 here and they all ring when the doorbell is engaged. It then becomes a race condition as to which device answers first for the audio but any of the devices can unlock the door. Hope that helps
I mentioned in the text of the video you will need to portforward. So on your home network, Google "Whats my IP Address" and use that instead of 192.168.1.110 in your phone app setting. You will also need to open the port in your modem to allow communication from your home network to the public network.
Hi Basil, Go to the App Store or Google play and download iDMSS Lite (its free). Once downloaded, you have the Options to view Security Camera's, Intercoms or Alarm systems. Select add device for Intercom and there you can set Audio only or Push Notification. The push notification is configured via the mobile application, not the web UI of the intercom itself.
Basil Loizou that doesn’t sound right. Have you turned off “Audio only” on the app setting? Also check your phone notifications setting. You may have a global setting preventing the push notification. Another thought is that you may have set a phone setting that prevents apps from connecting unless you’re on wifi. Check that mobile data is enabled for your phone. The only other thing I can think of is perhaps you haven’t port forwarded your modem. If you don’t do that, your modem will prevent data going out to your app Hope that helps.

@@MPugner sorry mate thats about all i can add here. I was getting a grey screen on MAC OS and Safari, Chrome and Firefox. When i spun up a MS VM, it worked. I guess you just need to make sure youre on the same network when you access it. Do you have a different IP range in your home? Perhaps you may be on 192.168.X.X ? rather than .1
@@MPugner Thats on your Modem.. can you browse to 192.168.1.1 ? that should be your default modem but i suspect yours may be 192.168.0.1. I cant help with you modem and network settings but if you google how to find your IP range. In the “System Preferences” window, click the “Network” icon. Select your network connection-for example, a Wi-Fi or wired connection-and then click the “Advanced” button at the bottom of the screen. In the “Network” window, select the “TCP/IP” tab. You'll see your router's IP address listed simply as “Router.”
Thanks for the quick demo! But since the instructions that come with the system are complete CRAP, I'm looking for some actual step-thru guidance to get the system set up. So far, the default passwords don't even seem to grant me access! Argh!!

No i have tried to change the wav file as well but i cant seem to do it.
You can only change the ring tone etc but you cant change the announcement.

Finally tried it with a normal POE switch and it doesnt work.
So it apparently uses Mode B PoE with 4,5- 7,8+ all of which is non standard... so annoying

Ing. Francis Opoku you can get a live feed as the camera is constantly streaming and record remotely to an external storage device if you need to.

Best practice is by connecting to the unit via VPN, not port forwarding.

No, there isn't a menu option that specifically says "Push Notification". It does that by default. You need to turn off "Audio only" on the app.

I had that problem too but when using explorer on Microsoft, it works. Try that

In the “Network” window, select the “TCP/IP” tab. You'll see your router's IP address listed simply as “Router.”

Thanks for the quick demo! But since the instructions that come with the system are complete CRAP, I'm looking for some actual step-thru guidance to get the system set up. So far, the default passwords don't even seem to grant me access! Argh!!
You need to use a PC to login to the web interface but if you use the monitor itself, the default passwords are published here:
