There really needs to be more research into better screening tests for ovarian cancer. It's such a silent killer. Many don't get diagnosed before stage 3 and 4 which makes recovery less likely.
I am postmenopausal and already had digestive issues, so I had no new symptoms of ovarian cancer - my only symptom was severe fatigue. A CT chest showed a small nodule in a lung that hadn't grown since last scan, so thoracic surgeon ordered a CT/PET combo on chest and abdomen, which picked up the tumor. Subsequent ultrasounds and blood tests indicated a granulosa cell tumor (measured 11 cm), confirmed by lab after surgery. Take severe fatigue seriously too!
My Mom was going along fine and it was the fatigue that was the profound symptom. She went from being an active elderly woman to literally sleeping 20 hours a day. The fatigue was extreme. She had all of the classic symptoms too but it was the fatigue that led to her being hospitalized and abdominal edema. They discovered a large mass which turned out to be stage 4 ovarian tubal cancer. You’re right extreme fatigue is something you should not write off. My Mom did live a long life but the last months of her life were absolutely horrible🥲🙏🏻✌🏻
My pastor’s daughter just passed away October 2022 from stage 4 ovarian cancer after 5 months struggling battling with silent killer. She was only 47 years old.
A past Co worker who lost her battle with Ovarian Cancer came to me in a thought why I dont know at all. This happened years ago and we were not even close. Allison told me about these symptoms when I would drive Her to the bus stop. I just said go to a doctor . I never knew she could not pay for it. I finally got smart and paid for it myself. I was so busy thinking of me, my husband, son or whatever and well let her suffer. Please don't be like Allison or me. Cancer well it effects you but others as well. I saw how it effected the other teacher's. If you have these symptoms please go see a Pastor or Priest so they can help you find a doctor and payment needs. I will always remember you Allison. I know you asked me not to talk about it but women need to know so they have a fighting chance. Allison is at peace now and out of pain and laughing with Jesus but she would want everyone to have love and hope.
I've been dealing with constipation, frequent urination, abdominal pain, back pain, and heavy periods since the start of 2021. I've cut out alcohol, meat, caffeine, dairy, gluten, sugar and I've added more water and fiber to my diet but nothing has helped. The only thing that happened was weight loss. This has NEVER happened to me before and I've read these were symptoms of fibroids and ovarian cancer, so I'm concerned. The reason why I haven't been to the medics yet is due to the situation in my country. (Myanmar) There are people shooting each other in broad daylight, a war between the citizens and the military is happening as I write this, bombs going off in the city, and a ton of protests. So yea things here are not looking so good. I've heard a myomectomy, hysterectomy, bisalp, oophorectomy, or a combination of some might be preformed which I don't mind since I've never wanted kids. But I know there are side affects to an oophorectomy and I'll have to be on hormones afterwards. Which I'm not too excited about.
I have been having those symptoms. Pelvic pain, lower back pain, frequent urination, bloating, feeling full, cramps and on/off constipation. I went to do a transvaginal ultrasound and found out it was cysts. Both on my left and right ovaries, in the right ovary which is causing the most pain some of the cysts are swollen and enlarged. The doctors recommended birth control but I am not sexually active, never have been and even if I was I am against birth control but that is their only solution. As they see it as a form of therapy and birth control is not the only function. I am trying to eat healthier too like you by going vegan and following a satvic lifestyle ( struggling) but I have had this pain for a long time now about 3 1/2 weeks, I am sorry about your situation in Myanmar and I hope you can get some medical attention soon. I do not have much money to be spending on doctors so for now I have to live with this pain and try as much natural ways as possible then use birth control as a last resort. Take care.
“Monitor your own symptoms” is the worst advice I’ve ever heard as a nurse. We are supposed to EDUCATE patients, not tell them to do the job that healthcare professionals are trained to do for them.
My dr isn’t listening to me, but I do have a mass on my ovary and they’re in no rush to do anything. Pain, can’t stay awake, can barely eat from the fullness, was told I looked pregnant, bowel changes, frequent urgency to urinate, the lower back pain is excruciating. It’s in the family and I’ve had cervical cancer…blood work is showing high WBC’s…they don’t listen
I’m so sorry, it can sometimes be difficult to get the right treatment and it shouldn’t happen at all. How are you doing these days? Did you get the needed treatment?
@@highhopeslibra I’m just astonished you have a mass in your ovary, match all the ovarian cancer symptoms but you’re still not diagnosed and with the right treatment?? you should go to a different hospital until you get the treatment you deserve :(
@@kumozumo I’ve been to two different hospitals, but being in Ontario and having a family physician they always just send u back. I ended up in icu due to kidney shutting down from kidney stones, I flatlined. Day prior they sent me home from the emergency stating it was a uti. She tells me my blood work is fine but when I question my online results she tells me everything is fine. But notes in my bloodwork from the lab state “decreased kidney function” bunch of abnormal things
I have all the symptoms but my doctors don’t care and send me home cause my ultrasound doesn’t show ascites (despite having a large cyst) so they’re like ok ur fine

Well, feeling how it began to shrink and eventually disappear within 2 months was so liberating. I followed the steps I mentioned, and within the first 2 weeks the bloating was gone. I simply go'ogled Tilly Strankten's Ovarian Cyst Guide and it's like I hit the feel-good reset button lol.
Instead of telling patients to be their own advocate why don’t you tell doctors to do their job!!!!
Exactly. This is a terrible video.

I think she's saying this because most doctors aren't doing their job that's why you have to look into it yourself and push
