I can only imagine how much a pond like this would add to the value of the house as long as it was the right buyer, but what an amazing pond in a relatively small space 👍🏻
Nice pond 👍 . I ran a pod on my old pond which was similar size to this one . When I upgraded to a larger pond I kept the pod as a pre-filter before my bead and bio unit , rather than a sieve . Works well . Very versatile filters 👍
Great to see the easypod air and the ideas on set up. Just doing our first pond and purchased one of these this week. Hoping to have everything up and running in a couple of weeks.
Great that the Easy Pod gets a mention, I have a 1500g pond, running twin easy pods (overkill I know) and love them. Fantastic pond there and love the quality of fish. The Sunsail (Its cheaper to call them a shade) really sets it off. Cracking job
Hi Tim, nice little pond ,just finished my lockdown pond, 4000 litre circular with an easypod running through a compact sieve, also a wall skimmer feeding an Oase 11000 pressure filter then split to an underwater return and a 3 tier bakki. Total overkill on the filtration, i know. All the best, Martin
The eazy was a great filter and although i had nitrite issues it did settle itself down but i ended up selling it on after buying a 320, eazy did leave water not 100% clean , yet 320 is absolutly crystal
Ok,I've talked the wife into a pond at our new house were moving to in a couple of months so expect a call soon ,will you guys do a build in Surrey in spring next year.
I follow Daz on his channel (Dazzle Koi) so I'm familiar with his pond. I don't know him personally but from my interactions with him through his channel he's a good guy with plenty of knowledge.
I’m new and still looking into all this and trying to learn. Should you put tap water straight into the return to the pond without de chlorinating it first? 🤷♂️
Just thought about it after posting. I guess the amount that is trickling in to the volume of water it will be fine once it’s gone through the filter process.
Nice pond Tim - please keep the videos coming. After watching many of your videos I finally got off my arse and made my first koi pond which I am well chuffed with. I have just posted my first UA-cam video of it - Please have a look what you think. Nexus and Cetus combo is working a treat - cheers
Nice pond im thinking of building a 10x6x4 to grow some small long fins in 8-10" for a wile before putting them in the big 13,000 gallon would a small pond hinder their growth are at what size would it hinder growth?
Morning Regarding the overflow system my pod is on the floor so l can’t get the initial T junction in any ideas? If l raise the pod my pipework wouldn’t fit and the level would be to high
I need to redo spa conversion pond that doesn't have the structural integrity it needs. I love this pond! The aesthetic is perfect. I've been looking for ideas for elevations on the one I need to do. Any information about the materials used would be very appreciated. Thanks for your great channel. I really enjoy watching your videos. Talks with Brian with Fitz fish and maybe meeting up with him when I go to Japan next October . The farm they have is really something else, isn't it?
So I am just about to install a kockney koi skimmer box on my pond just wondering how best to install it. The skimmer box is around 1 inch above the main water level on my pond. well I hope it is the pond seems to be level know. So what advise would you give about fitting a skimmer ? the skimmer seems to be a 1/4 above what will be the water level. I in vision the water level of the pond will be about 1 inch below the top of the sleepers. Above that will be a capping piece of wood which is about 50mm in thickness.
@@simonduncan8327 Hi mate, thats right, they dont all get that big. I'm guessing here but I reckon an average would probably be somewhere between 50cm and 60cm. Only when you start to pay a bit more and have bigger ponds, better equipment, better quality food etc do they go beyond this.

Hi mate, I do plan to do a full construction video soon. I didn't make video during the build but I've got some pictures. Hope to have it ready in a week or two 👍
Hi Christopher, its just an extra cost and complication I don't need to be honest. Because of the size of the pond I wont have any need to add more filtration (I can return over a shower if I need more bio in the future anyway) and there are no trees anywhere near so I don't actually need any skimming action. I bought a fine net but I haven't actually needed to remove anything from the top yet in the 9 weeks or so its been running.
Hi mate, concrete base, block walls, fibreglass, window, pipework, filtration, tiles, and bottom drain altogether probably cost around £2000 for materials and I built it all myself.
Nice looking pond and ingenious filter set up. I am now thinking of going down the same route and build Easypod Air too but 1500 gallons. Tim, would.would you suggest I go up to a 4 inch bottom drain instead of 3inch?
Tim, is there a piece of “tech” available that measures the level of dissolved oxygen in the water that can automatically cut the air in and out as required? I notice the bubbling often detracts from viewing pleasure, also energy savings to be made if not always required, any thoughts/views.

Sorry to bother you have a nexus 320 fitted with DracoDrum, running with 20000lph pump, what flow rate should I be running at present 57 percent on 2000gal pond, thanks 😊 your videos are second to none 😀
The pressure gradient of fresh water is 0.434 psi per foot of depth, or 1.42 psi per metre. That window is about 1 metre high, maybe 1.5, so the water pressure at the bottom of the window is around 1.4 to 2.1 psi (rounded). Not significant. Glass is of course very strong, although brittle, and so can withstand this pressure with ease. The weakness would be the seal around the edges of the glass.

I didn't really understand how the filter is cleaned by the air pump. Maybe you could do a vid of it in action? That filter used no pre filter sponges or the like? Also, is that air run when he's not there?..with it there is no view from above. Not sure if dead center is the best idea. But of course..who wouldn't want that pond? Why we are here.
Hi Stan, I made a little video showing how the cleaning of the Pod works here ua-cam.com/video/Xg1UUaWaGGc/v-deo.html and there is a review of the filter on there too which explains how it works. There are no sponges , the mechanical filtration is done by static K1 micro. Yes, air is on 24/7, there is a switch at the side of the pond to turn it off but I very rarely do. It is dead centre as its part of the bottom drain. The diffuser is integrated in to the bottom drain lid. The idea is that the air rises and spreads out on the surface creating water flow. When this flow hits the pond sides it pushes down and then across the bottom so that it pushes all the muck on the bottom of the pond in to the bottom drain. Daz
This will divide opinion but for me 3" is better for this level of flow as it supplies the volume comfortably and has the benefit of higher water velocity through the pipe thus reducing settlement

Where did you get the stone cladding from

Darren only has it trickling in a very small amount so any chlorine is minimal in the whole body of water and it gasses off in a few hours anyway
Very nice.

Keen to know how Darren clad his EZ pond? Also keen to know which aerator he used? Was it a spindrifter?
Hi Chris, its not an EZ pond mate, its block built on a concrete base and fibreglassed. The bottom drain is indeed a Spindrifter 👍👍

No way oxygen is as important as beneficial bacteria in an over stocked tank.

Correct me if I’m wrong is under 1000 gallons too small for long term housing of koi ? As they can get to three feet in length?
