Mate, this is the first time I've come away from an ND filter tutorial feeling satisfied. You took the time to literally sit down and show what works, and what does not. Thank you. 🙏
@@MK-Creator I SECOND THAT MOTION. I just bought those freewell filters and MAN I LOVE THEM> BTW if yall havent tried a nd4 at sunset in full auto (not pro) it looks sooooo good already!! this video is awesome!!!!
Your Nd Filter trick for finding the right one for shutter speed is pure genius and if anyone disagrees. Ive seen over 100 videos through the years and no one has ever done this. I was getting upset because I have so many nd filters for all of my cameras but now I feel more confident getting a baseline with them. Thank you so much
This is the best tutorial on ND filters, direct to the point make sense and a complete logical demo. This is how ND filter tutorial should be. Thank you so much! I want to know the night filter
Thank you so much for breaking it down into that much detail. I was having a hard time understanding the science behind the ND/polarize filter and when to use. Excellent work!!!!
That was so nice to read! Thank you so much. If you find my work to be worth a cup of coffee or maybe even two… here is the link: geni.us/buymeacoffe 😘☕️ Thanks again for watching! 😃👍
Great video explaining not only what ND filters do but how to pick the closest correct filter... your videos provide this quality of information every time thx
Mats -- Beautiful job explaining the effects of ND and polarizing filters, and how to select the proper filter for the lighting situation. Hands down THE BEST I've viewed on UA-cam. Thanks very much!!
So… I’m new to this and sincerely appreciate how well you broke everything down. I feel less dumb after watching this and can’t say that for most of UA-cam. Great job sir.
Very useful video that sums everything up that you need to know about ND-filter, especially useful was your "ND-filter calculation". First part of the video we have seen others cover countless times, about motion blur and all that, but actually getting the right ND can sometimes be tricky. I always do trial and error, but thanks to Mats I now feel less stupid and can get it right from the start! ;-) Bravo! May I suggest chapters in the video so you can go directly to the parts that feels relevant? (I correct myself - there are time stamps in the description)
Thank you so much! It means a lot. It was hard to make the video without covering the “basics” in the beginning. What chapters would you live to have they I did not add?
@@MK-Creator Never mind Mats, It was just me wanting to "fast forward" a little to the parts that were interesting to me. And as I corrected myself, there actually ARE links in the description that I did not see at first.
I have seen around 100 videos based on drone filter, i must say this is the best video in turms of explaining ❤️🙏🏻 hatts off to your simplicity & explaining mathod ❤️. Love from india.
Thank you so much!! ☺️ I always try to make my videos so one that doesn’t have any or very limited bakgrund knowledge still would comprehend the message at the end of the video :)
Absolutely the best explanation of this subject. I have always struggled with understanding this, but you have made it so much easier to understand. Thank you. 👍
GREAT information!! I bought a set of ND Filters with my Mini 3 Pro, but have not used them yet as I really didn't know how or when they were necessary. THIS is invaluable information. Thank you for this video.
Thanks for making these, I'm really surprised they don't get more views. Maybe it's just me but I'm not totally convinced it's actually better with the ND filters, especially the water, the unfiltered shots look more detailed and more like real life to me. I can understand the case for motion blur for some things, like a hand moving too quickly back and forth or a propeller spinning but for other situations it feels kind of unnatural, sometimes even a bit annoying. Like when the drone is moving quickly past an object, wouldn't your eyes just be able to track that in real life? Unless it was in your peripheral, you'd see it in pretty much perfect detail as long as it wasn't moving crazy fast
Hej ! Du är väl svensk såg ut som du flög på Gärdet i Stockholm i videon: Beginners DJI Guide for Mini 3 Pro. Mycket tacksam för denna Guide om Filters ! Mycket bra! Hälsningar Theodor Evers
Hej Theodor! Det stämmer. Videon började på Gärdet och flyttade sedan därifrån när jag visade att det finns en helikopterplatta för nära. Stort tack för din Supertack och för att du tog dig tid att dela med dig av dina tankar 😃👍
I understand ND filters but when you did the test on the ground, the amount of light was constant. When you take a drone up then the amount of light will change as you turn the drone , soeme y be lighter or some darker.
Hi bro.. i am from india.. i have recenlty ordered dji mini 4 pro from usa and it will arrive in a week.. i have also ordered K&F concept nd filters since they were in my budget..the kit has nd 4,8,16,32,64,1000.. may i know which filter can i use regularly once my drone arrives maybe even as a lens protector.. out of the above nd filters which can be the most commonly used filter for day n night
Hey ! Can someone please help me when I am Using the trick to find out the correct ND filter my ISO is also changing ( going higher ) is it not correct to keep this at 100 or should I be following with my ISO and shutter speed on auto
Absolutely. What that will do is that it will allow the automatic setting to automatically lower the shutter speed. Just keep an eye on what automatic settings you get :)
Quick question if you want to shoot at 60 frames per second that means I would need a shutter speed of 120? And would that give you the same amount of motion blur?
I agree, maybe ok for the still shot but for drone video ND filters are a waist of money. I never put anything in front of a camera lens, just degrades the IQ. I’m afraid MK has been dragged into the Freewell con. Saying that @MK - Creator vids are excellent 👌
It definitely work in auto. It’s the same practice and I think I even showed you how it can work in auto where the variables are changing automatically depending on what filter you put on the lens. It’s all about keeping the shutter speed where you want it to be to get the video feeling that you want to have.

When using small sensors like this sometimes motion blur and parallax is the only way to separate object from the background. If you only fly high as a bird it’s a waste for sure
