Great question. If you can get the OEM LED lighting package that’s the way to go because you also get the LED tails and the OEM warranty on the part and ultimately that add on is less expensive. Unfortunately we were part of the great chip shortage when we ordered our van :(
Thank You for sharing another great video. I replaced the factory halogen bulbs with LED bulbs, but I didn't get the alignment right. Do you have any tips for aligning the Alpharex headlights without the original alignment settings?
Thank you for the kind words!! Do you get a decent cut off with the LEDs in the stock halogens? You'll want to find a place that's flat and a wall or barrier about 25 feet away from the font of your car. Measure the vertical distance from the street to the center of the headlight and then you want your cutoff line about 4-5 inches below this height on the wall at 25ft. This is a good rule of thumb, but if you still are getting flashed at night, drop it down a bit more. I can measure what mine ended up being but I don't think it's an accurate representation since the lights are so different.
Without the DOT required self-leveling feature of ALL road legal LED headlights, you run a serious risk to other drivers an/or yourself. Your insurance company will not cover your damages and regulations are written in Blood and Tears. Maybe your should have a quick chat with your attorney about including a disclaimer at the beginning of your video, stating possibly "off-road use only"
$1500 is still WAY too much. LED bulbs in stock lights work ok as well. I know the optics aren't correct and you can't really adjust them to the point it's not blinding. Once these are around $500, I'm in.
Unfortunately they will never end up getting to that price point with any ounce of quality... If you boil it down to the basics a headlight is a pretty complex thing to manufacture with a bunch of mold tooling investment and R&D involved, then if you take that and divide it by the demand for these for a niche market like a Sprinter Van the company needs to price it accordingly as it's a business, not a charity. I personally think it's worth the cost for my own van based on the quality of the optics and light output and the general relatively of Sprinter Van components cost anyways. Night driving without proper lighting was one of the worst traits of the sprinter, not only does to road light up better but now the sides of the road too, making it a overall safer experience. I bought these with my own money and have no affiliation with Alpharex or CSP. It was the best option I could find for my needs. Each person has to evaluate each investment individually and what makes sense for them and their goals.
Amaizing ❤
Thank you!
I have factory LED’s but I would without a doubt get these if I had stock halogens, halogens suck, always haha
Oh for sure! Factory LEDs are where it's at, unfortunately I was part of the chip shortage when I ordered my van :(
Todd, excellent as always! What do you think of the MB "lighting" package for a custom order?

Thanks for the advise, Todd.
would these work on a 2018 Sprinter?
Unfortunately they only make them for 2019+ right now 😕
Tell these yahoos to make some LEDs for us old NCV3 folks.
Totally…. There’s never any love for NCV3 😥… I wish I had one I would make more parts for them too. Maybe I’ll pick one up next year.

@@moonrakerdesign 100% agree with you, everything for sprinters is expensive. Rear door rack cost about as much and has no tech at all.
