  • Custom Seat-Hoop! Yamaha XJR1300 - Shoogly Shed Motors Episode 105
    The XJR is back, baby!
I've taken stock and had a rethink on the seat-hoop/subframe design on the XJR1300 project - I hope you'll agree it's a vast improvement!

I'm so dang excited to see you back on this bike! The realization that its been a year and then realizing how much your skills have grown in that time is bittersweet. As always, love the music!

Nice, I like that seat hoop change, will give the seat more definition rather than a straight 'plank' look

Good video Euan, good to see you enjoying the tig welder, another weapon in your arsenal. They are so handy! Personally, I think it’s great to see you coming back after a year of learning with the mushashi build with a higher focus on quality and knowing it can be done better. Looking forward to seeing this one turn out.
Did my eyes deceive me or Did I see the metal buckle slightly on the inner section of the curve? I would have hoped the sand would have stopped that. Love the induction heater for getting the heat in, as much as an oxy set up would be epic this really helps bridge the gap! Onwards 👍

Thanks dude! Yep, it did crease. I think I can't have packed the sand tight enough. But it definitely prevented it collapsing entirely. I'll call it a deliberate design choice... 😅

Great to see you back on the big XJR Euan. Always look forward to a new upload. the CB400, is it one of the old Superdream incarnations or the newer super fours? Alan.

It's an old super dream CB400T I think!

If it's a CB400T then it's a Honda Dream, CB400N was the Super Dream and had a more angular tank. OK I'll take my anorak off now.

Love your work, Euan! Did you pick up welding or do you have a background/training in it?

HI. Sorry for this comment, I don't want to offend anyone, but I would like to express my opinion. Personally I don't understand this trend of modifying motorbikes. every time I see a beautiful motorbike like the XJR 1300, which is a masterpiece of engineering, damaged, I feel bad. I believe that anyone who believes they can improve a project from such a BLASONED brand as YAMAHA is disrespectful to the engineers who CREATED it. the XJR 1300 is a perfect motorbike, and to see it damaged like this is disrespectful to it. if you really want to modify it, do it so that everything is reversible, without CUTTING or sawing......
    Ciao ....and sorry my stricture.....👋
