Very nice Fall colors and rite here in our own backyard. Now if the windstorm was on Oct 10... I was in it ... but about 400 miles south of June Lake. That was a Big Wind. Keep on posting Your Great videos. Always happy to enjoy your adventures.

How I wanted to return this Fall, it was my home for 8 years starting in1974, and Convect lake/Mount Morrison was always my favorite place to visit. I am so happy you decided to go Catherine and give us a view of what it looked like; perfect timing.
I have to tell you a story. I worked for the Mountian and had a very dear friend named Myron who worked in the cafeteria. He was a genius playing "low ball" poker and would tell me of his sessions down in Bishop some days. One morning he opened the kitchen and was sitting in the back part of the dinning area, about 3:00am, by himself without anyone around drinking a cup of coffee when he looked up and saw a 400 pound black bear standing right next to him (that was on the 3rd floor); it had just finished eating almost a 5 gallon bucket of strawberry filler for jelly donuts.
You look so at home in the video.

We have hiked, camped and just made many day trips to areas all along the route. One of our favorite areas is SR108 over Sonora Pass absolutely stunning, that's how I got my internet name "Sonora108".

Cat... Watching this has been a blessing on a cold morning with a mix of rain and snow while locked-down. I've often thought about taking in June Lake Loop on the Sunday afternoon of my annual "weekend in the Greater Bodie Area." This year, presuming we're all free to travel this summer, unless I get "a better offer", I think I will! BTW, if you want to see an explosion of fall colors in the Eastern Sierra Nevada, I highly recommend the last several miles of CA 270 heading towards the 395 road just before sunset. Awesome! Also, if you go hiking McGee Creek again, I suggest you draw water upstream of the pack trail. Why? It's one of my favorite trail rides. And... I think you get the picture! May God continue to Bless and protect you.

Hello I just wanted to ask about the different lakes that are surrounding bishop. Is the parking at north free or many? Would the parking be close to the actual lake, or how many minutes to hike to the lake? Do we need any national forest or like passes that we have to buy? I would really like to visit Bishop next year. Please give me tips on traveling to north lake, and other beautiful lakes that you've gone. I kind of rely on my GPS, if I were to go there. Would the GPS still be working in high altitude road? I actually live in Santa Ana, CA. It a 4hr 55min drive :( Please help me with any other information about going to Bishop, CA. Thanks Very Much. Here's a wind tip for everyone. When you expect high winds, like what Catherine experienced, it's best to aim the front of your RV into the oncoming wind, if possible. Vehicles are built to withstand winds the best from that direction because when you drive even in calm air, you are in effect creating artificial wind blowing toward you at the speed of your travel. So, turn your RV into the wind when you park. That way, if you have to open the rear door, you'll be on the leeward side and the wind pressure against the door and your body will be minimal. Also the side-to-side rocking will be minimized.
