Easy Southern Style Skillet Sauteed Potatoes
    www.raymackskitchenandgrill.co...
    Ingredients:
    4 Idaho potatoes
    1 Large sliced onion
    Unsalted butter
    1 tablespoon minced garlic
    Black pepper
    Paprika
    Thyme
    Parsley flakes
    Salt
    2 tablespoon water
    Directions:
    1. Wash, peel, and cut your potatoes in quarters. You can soak them in water to keep them from turning brown.
    2. Cook your potatoes in a cast iron skillet, set the stove temperature to Med-High heat. Add 4 tablespoon of butter to the hot skillet, add the potatoes and onions.
    3. Add all of your ingredients, please use your own judgment for measuring the seasonings. Mix everything together, place a lid or heavy-duty aluminum foil on top of the skillet.
    4. Let it cook for 10-15 mins, flip your potatoes from time to time.
You can adjust the heat if it's to high.
    5. Now, remove the lid covering... add 2 tablespoon of water. Your potatoes are done when they become FORK TENDER.
    Please enjoy.

I grew up poor. And I mean like no electricity , only food we got from churches type poor. But somehow grandma found a way to make this and French toast almost every day. We never had syrup so we would just melt butter and sugar on the French toast. Point being I still love this recipe to this day.

Having just used this skillet for the first time, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxIst1DRMCWM6dgd9VjXMFXlH4HeElE6Mc to batter-fry some macaroni & cheese, I'm absolutely in love with it. The foldaway design means it actually fits in my very small kitchen, but it also makes everything crazy simple to clean. While the instructions say you should not deep fry in this, you can, but do it with your best judgment; in my case the oil didn't even reach the halfway mark. It's hard to see in the pictures, but the skillet itself has a lip in the corner. This allows steam to get out during cooking if the lid is on (so don't try to steam rice in it), and makes pouring out used oil extremely easy.Cleanup was a dream. After detaching the plug and control circuit, the unit is just three separate pieces: The skillet itself, the lid, and the base which may or may not need any cleaning at all (usually just the handles). Compared to a dedicated deep fryer I purchased in the past, where the heating element was suspended in the oil and everything was difficult to clean, the difference was amazing.I'm definitely looking forward to using this for more things in the future.

Made some steak and potatoes, usually my dad will make it. I used youtube to help me with cooking both the potatoes and steak. My first time making this stuff but turned out to be the best I've ever had.

I damned near ate my computer screen! Delicious looking and just like I used to make out camping when I lived down in Texas. Good memories---thanks for taking the time to record this. I'm sure that you and the Mrs. both enjoyed the bejeebers out of them.

Hey Ray. I cooked your sautéed potatoes recipe. I was so good. I did not have any thyme so I used rosemary. It was amazing. I also with the potatoes your smothered fried cabbage. These two dishes goes great together and the pork chops I just used some seasonings I had. Thank you for sharing your great recipes and you can add me to your list of loyal followers.

      Try next.
      1. Cut potatoes by piramides. It's impotent. Don't slice potatoes.
      2. Boil it until half cooked.
      3. Drain the water.
      2. Add garlic + pepper + 1 spoon oil + other what you like.
      3. Then oven 30 min 200 C = 392 F.
      4. Fry onions in another pan with spices.
You'll have potatoes with brown crust and tender puree under them and testy onion

Yep! DEFINITELY “smothered potatoes” in Louisiana...on the top of the stove in a skillet, smothered with a lid, cooked with water, just like it’s done in this video. Shout out to my parents and ancestors who cooked their arses off. (Sorry that most of you had to cook for and serve a lot of hate-filed racists back then. 😒) Stay strong✊🏽, ADOS! And 👉🏽pamper yourselves with good, quality foods, warm baths, fresh air, sunshine ☀️, clean & refreshing water 💧 to stay hydrated , pleasant walks/hikes, lovely days at the beach 🏖 and good people (people who LOVE you!).

This looks delicious. I am going to make some potatoes for dinner tonight. My Parents and Grands always called them Home Fries.😁 Saturday's is sandwich day for the family in our house. Going to have Rotisserie Chicken sandwiches on whole wheat bun with melted cheese, lettuce & tomatoes and a side dish of broccoli (something green). Thank you for the video. Your videos are great. You explain, show everything you do & get right to the point. Much happiness to you and Mrs Ray Mack.
