I bought a set of JPX HM 923, I really love how they looked and how they felt, but could not get the distances I should have been, and I was all over the place with them. Traded them in for a set of Ping G430’s and couldn’t be happier. They have helped improve my game, and I don’t have to try and crush them to get the distances I want.
Thanks for all of the Mizuno reviews. Just bought a set of the 923 Hot Metals. I wanted the 923 Forged but the forgiveness of the Hot Metal sold me. Feel of hits out of the center feel pretty close to the Forged and don’t sound clicky.
I have to say that I really enjoyed your explanation and testing on the forgiveness on these clubs. Nobody else does this! Thank you for taking the time to do this and help me make decisions on what kind of clubs that I would like to try out because of your videos. Keep up the good work. Also, looking at the Ping 10k driver too because of your review. Thanks.
Thanks for this excellent video, I’ve gone for the 923 HL, absolutely brilliant club for us oldies with a slower swing speed. Actually picked up a few more yards 🥳. I did test the 430’s but the Mizuno were in a different world when it came to feel.
Very good review. You looked at and considered all the angles and discussed them in depth. Very fair in your comparison and acknowledged that tomorrow the trend could flip the other way. I am always amazed at the many reviewers on UA-cam and their overly sensitive focus on sound. Outside the sound is totally different than inside the studio and it really has no bearing on the club results. I honestly never even notice nor consider the sound when evaluating or hitting clubs. Really is not a feature for me. Well done!
I agree about the sound. For 30 years I never even gave it a thought nor do I recall anybody really saying much about it. Now I hear about it on every review.
Some care some don't. It's just referenced nowadays as the manufacturers are playing with acoustics all the time to make it not pleasing to the ears in the hope of selling more 😊
I tested both yesterday. Eventually went with ping because I hit it slightly better. Both added a whopping 32 yards to my existing Taylor made M2s and I get that part of that is the loft. I’m a bang average 16 handicapper. I hit about twenty 7 irons in a row with the G430 onto the green, carrying around 160. I wasn’t quite as good with the Mizuno and to be honest, I wanted the Mizunos when I started the fitting. I just got the Mizuno driver and I liked the idea of a Mizuno set. We tried all 3 versions of the Mizzies, the latest Taylor Made and for me ping produced better accuracy and distance, especially when we found the right shaft. I just kept hitting the green. Love them, I could probably have loved the JPX too had we really honed in on the shaft. Not much between the clubs. I can’t wait to get them delivered before I move to my new home….. on a golf course!
I have a set of the jpx923 HMP, the best Iron I have ever hit. I picked up the Hot Metal HL, I am not a big hitter, but I hit the 5 HL almost 200 yards, super impressed..
@@1snaj Yes, they are lofted low these days but it is weighted low and back to get the hight of a 5 iron. Best of both worlds as long as you have enough club head speed (at least over 75 mph with 7 iron), otherwise, go with the high loft version.
I'm a Ping fan and recently was fitted for new irons. I went with the Mizuno JPX923. I preferred the look and the feel, and my readings were just slightly better. Clubs should arrive in a couple of weeks, can't wait ... I've had my G30's since they came out over 7 years ago...
Same here. Got fitted, I love the ping brand but I hit the Mizuno's really nice and it feels nice. The price is a bonus 😂. Waiting for them to arrive early next week.
Did they come in yet? I got fitted on the fourth. I’m stoked but I’m wondering how long it’ll actually take. They said MDW but I fear it’ll be in June 😂
@@edwinmunoz9576 They did come in about 3 weeks ago. There was a delay but they finally made it. Took them out a few times and man I love them. They definitely shaved some strokes off. Now I just need to get a new putter. Mines is way to long.
Great job! I love your in depth reviews. Unbiased, informative, and entertaining. I'm waiting for all your driver compares...cobra vs paradise especially!
In this category I tried the Ping's, Callaway, Taylor Made, Titleist, and the Mizuno's were better feeling, longer, more forgiving, and more consistent for me. Oh, and they are beautiful. Ordered my set yesterday.
I would like to give both of these irons a try. Leaning towards the Mizuno from your video as I like a softer feeling iron but will need to give these two a go. I also prefer the look of the Mizuno but how they play will be my deciding factor. All things equal, Mizuno 🇺🇸
Hi Kev, by all means let me know how your test goes. Will be interesting to see what the results are. Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already 👍
Many thanks for another H2H comparison👍👍 The numbers for each club are so similar making a buying decision would be down to brand preference, aesthetics and acoustics (as I'm a deaf old bugger I would disregard the sound). As I am a PING & Mizuno fan and they both look okay-ish to my eye, I have no idea which I would choose. Luckily I don't have the spare cash to buy any Irons this year, so the problem is averted.
I just got fitted this week. I tried several clubs and it came down to these 2. I went in thinking I’d get the Mizuno’s (I prefer the look) but left with the Pings. I hit them that much better. But both were great.
I have the JPX 921 Hot Metal ,Love them Great feel and Distance , bought in spring 2022 for $875.00 Deliverd ,May have too get Lie angle adjusted as when I go after it ,I Hook them other wise baby Draw.
Makes me want the Takomo 101s even more considering how close there are to these at a fraction of the price... Probably going to pull the trigger on those.
I hit both of these, the Titleist and srixon and the mizunos were a grade above everything else IMO. I went in wanting the srixons but after hitting the mizunos the feel and hight I got from them was the best out of everything
Excellent review! I'm looking at irons and Ping. I have to hit them of course along with the Mizuno, Titleist, Callaway, but your review is so excellent.
I have the JPX 921 and love them. I am 73 and do not get the ball as high as I wish. Still I can get the ball to stop on the green and still hit the ball fairly long. I do love them Mizunos.
They were and still are a solid choice, very forgiving especially off toe strikes and with a decent amount of help to get the ball launching. Next step I guess, will be something in the cast range for additional launch help 👍
so i was hitting 8 iron on the ping with 120 yard carry and 2000 ball spin, went to the forged 921, was carrying 165 yards with ball spin of 4950. ping felt unhittable for me
I just retired a set of Ping Anser Forged Irons for a New set of Ping G430's with True Temper - Dynamic Gold Tour Issue shafts. The G430's are a full club longer than the Ping Anser Forged irons. Even with the Tour Shafts I'm getting plenty of height and stopping power!
Was just fitted this week at Golftec...After hitting all the brands on the rack it came down to these two. I hit both very well, the 923 pro just gave me a tad better shots overall. Most of the shots off the Ping came as a slight baby fade. Best shots off the Mizuno were baby draws....In fairness to Ping my existing bag has Mizuno 825 Pro forged which I love...Playing the less offset may be the only difference. The Pings were very sweet....just not the Mizuno for me. It's commonly said Mizuno players can feel a Mizuno in a blind test....The comfort zone of the head weight had a lot to do with my choice...It was odd to feel the difference between the major brands head weight. Now I have 3.5 weeks to wait for my new sticks.....it's going to be a long month!
Well, this review was perfect timing as in my pre fitting swing sessions I had narrowed it down to these 2 clubs. Thank you for all the stats and a great comparison. I go in for my fitting in a week's time. It is good to know that both clubs are so close. As a high handicapper those were my thoughts. Your reviews are a perfect balance of statistic's and feel. Keep up the good work .
Great review. I’m in the market for some new irons and these are on the shortlist. It would possibly add to the review if you were to put them in the hands of someone like myself (mid-high handicapper and social golfer). They could add their perspective on looks, feel and confidence inspiration. And you could talk through the various stats and what they mean informing the choice of that person and countless others. I am available most weekends and bank holidays…. 😂
I went in to try the ping g430 and I ended up with the jpx 923 pro, I didn't even think about mizuno tbh but they felt nicer to me and I was hitting it further, i was about 150 yards with the pings and about 165 with the jpx , I'm nervous though as I got fitted for a dynamic gold 105 r300 shaft and everything else standard apart from a mid grip, Im worried that I was swinging slower due to nerves on the day and when I get them there not going to perform aswell but damn hitting the sweet spot on the jpx was nice
100 percent agree and did the same. Fitter really wanted me to get the ping but in the end I liked the feel of the mizuno swinging and flushing it was so buttery I couldn't not get them. Had the lie changed 2 degrees and have the same shafts as you mentioned above. should get them next week. Can't wait. Also had about a 1k thousand more ballspin on the mizuno.
@@timothymarley6122 I slightly lied I didn't realise but I actually got the normal hot metals, they were so nice though, I can't wait to get them, I had the oppersit my fitter was pushing the mizunos more, it's strange they was pushing the pings if they wasn't the best with numbers and you didn't like the feel as much, my guy was saying once you go mizuno you won't change iron brand
Great review showing how much a bad average weekend hacker can get away with 😀 Love the way you show all results from the mis-hits. I've just won a ping g430 bundle , driver 3 wood and hybrid and full iron set from caddy comps so i guess I'll be trying out all the face on those g430 irons. 👌👌 Keep up the good work 👍
Great review Mizuno clubs always look good and as a senior Mizuno graphite shaft no extra charge that is unique in golf. I believe when PGA players were asked that if they had no sponsorship what would they play and Mizuno came out top. Seve, Faldo and Tiger. All used Mizuno.
Different companies have different strategies. Both the likes of Callaway and Taylormade are much stronger in the wood categories sales wise due to their expensive tour advertising, other companies choosing not to go that route will always be up against the marketing giants. Their woods this year especially the drivers are as good as anything on the market 👍
I just had a fitting wth these two and the cobra Darkseid. For feel and consistency, I went with the Pings. The Mizunos were nice, but I just got a bit more performance from Ping. And I was fully expecting to go home with a Mizuno set.
As far as game improvement irons go Mizuno JPX's are my absolute favorite. They just look and sound amazing they don't have faux carbon fiber stickers or plastic inserts all over them. They are just very sleek
Personally I believe its the best and most useful part of any review I do. Most if not all golfers, miss the middle, knowing how something will perform when not hit quite right is more important than when all us reviewers smash it out the screws.... give or take 😊 Thanks for the kind feedback 👍
@@AskGolfNutI absolutely agree. This, and then also when you once in a while swing with human speed 😅 - i.e. low/mid 80’s for 7i, which is even more telling of how they will perform in mere mortals hands… 😊
Really great head to head, I've had my JPX923 HM for just over a month, and I'm absolutely delighted with them. I haven't tried the 430's, it's sad but just don't like the way they look!!!! I think I need to get out more!!!!!!
Awesome job as usual. Keep up the good work P/S: I do not see many American UA-cam Channels doing lesser-populer brands like Yamaha, Honma, XXIO, Yonex. I believe if you could tap into that it would open up a HUGE amount of followers from Asia
Man, you are the Review Master! Excellent job as usual and your swing is the best I've seen of all of the reviewers. I bet those Good Good guys are afraid of you. lol Because I'm not that good of a ball striker sometimes, I might have to go with the G430 irons. I tried the i230 iron and I love it, when I hit the sweet spot. I'm sad about what happens when I hit the toe or heel. I'd rather have the i230. That said I want to hit every green. I think one advantage I have is, and you will laugh, is my slow swing speed. It's hard for me to miss a green with a 70mph swing speed. What is selling me on your review of the g430 is how they go almost the same distance with all hits compared. When I miss the i230 it seems to miss much shorter. I'd like to get both thinking I might become a better striker using the i230. The thing is I am running out of years to play so the G430 it is.
The G430 will definitely mask a bad day at the course strike wise at least. They offer additional help in launch also so as the speed reduces having that extra help with the CG being further back and lower always helps. Appreciate very much your kind feedback. Doing the work it do and making my content in the way I do is very labour intensive.... Guess that's why the other guys don't give evident head data to go along with any verbal conclusions 🤔😁
Good review. I like the detail that you include. I have a question about the numbers. The spin is good for a forgiving 7 iron, the angle of decent is well above 45 degrees but the ball is shown as rolling out 15 yards. That does not make sense to me. A few yards yes, but not 15. I am interested in both of these clubs, but I want a ball that stops close to where it lands for the scoring clubs. The 7 is on the edge of that type of club, but that is a lot of simulated roll out. Is that just a launch monitor issue?
Hi Frank, great, question. It will, be due to me comparing them on the Foresight Range hitting down the fairway, rather than into a green. Due to the possibility of both clubs going different distances it's better to keep everything apples for apples and it react with the floor exactly the same way. If I had set it to a distance to hit a green then the total distance would have been much much less 👍
I don't think I have ever seen such an in-depth review of a club, detailing how a club performs with mishits. As you concluded, these two clubs are so similar that it really comes down to personal preference. It looks like Mizuno has a few more no upcharge shaft options but that is about it as far as differences.
Hope you enjoyed the in depth approach, doing the forgiveness side is a lot of work so I'm glad that people appreciate finding out how forgiving or not a club is. Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
Reviews are great. In terms of being unbiased, it might help the perception if you aren't swagged out in Mizuno gear when doing Mizuno vs another brand reviews haha 😀
I can't really help my choice of clothes I like 😊 and I do give detailed club head data to prove any findings. I understand how it may look, but also would look a touch weird if I was constantly kitted out in different manufacturers apparel every video 😁 not sure if have enough wardrobe space 😊 But hopefully by giving all the head data people can see through the choice of clothes I like and see evidence of any findings 👍
@@AskGolfNut Haha no problem! It is very clear from how you present the results that you are as unbiased as possible. I was just getting a chuckle out of it. Need to get an "AskGolfNut" hat and polo and then your problem is solved!
Can’t begin to tell you how informative this comparative review has been for me. Really weird because I want new irons and these 2 clubs are what I had boiled it down to. Couldn’t believe you showed me all the info I needed and your in depth review was priceless. The first time I saw your you tube review, I thought it was a lot of detail, but now I look forward to your reviews cause I know you will back up your conclusions. Back to the comparison, I finally got an opportunity to hit both of these clubs. I have to tell you I wanted to love the Mizuno JPX and they were good, but the Ping G430 was by far the most solid iron that I hit. I was both longer and more accurate and hit them higher. But again very ironic that you did the comparative review of my 2 finalist. Thanks So much for your content. I look forward to the next one!
Horses for courses sometimes with equipment so close in its performance and forgiveness, although during fitting one may absolutely shine over the other. Glad you know what works for you the best 👍
There are so many worse game improvement irons on the planet that no one should think twice if they purchase either of these. For me, better sound, better looking, 100rpm more rpm, it says Mizuno on it, you simply can't lose buying it - you want slightly softer, slightly better feel - buy the upcoming 923 Forged. Ping seems to have fixed the Driver, woods & hybrid sound, irons have to be next. That said, you will never go wrong buying a Ping. The sound just isn't the best.
Great comparison I’ve been waiting for 🙏🙏🙏. Interesting that Mizuno irons are notoriously flatter than most while Ping are more upright than most. Looks wise I think the Mizuno takes it, Ping has a bit too much going on in cavity. Would like to see you test these at mere mortal swing speeds as well lol. I imagine Ping does a bit better in the longer irons than Mizuno does due to the extra bounce. Although that 41 degree Ping Pitching wedge can create some issues at that part of the bag 😬. Also have to consider that Mizuno offers quite a bit more no upcharge shafts and grips than Ping does. That could be the deciding factor for some. Well done as always Jay. Thank you 🙏
How often do u hit the ball with the back of the club? When the club frames the ball can u see the cavity? Are you speaking of how they look in the bag? I dont understand what your point is? Sorry
Really, how many high handicap golfers hit a seven iron 185 - 190 yards. That’s my Mizuno 3 wood. Maybe 5 wood on a good day. I play the HM 919s with 2 deg. more loft and 2 deg. down. I love them. The Mizuno 923 series is a lot cheaper than the Ping by about $300. Cdn.
Jay a little off topic the new mizuno driver can you use the optimiser to fit the driver regarding shaft weight and flex ive not seen anyone talk about this
Yes very much so. I have used it to great effect. I differ from a lot of people where I actually tell me clients to put the ball up on a tee, push ball further forward like they would do their driver, and hit it like it was their driver. Gains all the information you need and has wood integration in the Swing DNA Software 👍
In prehistoric times, I bought a set of MP-H4 based on one of your reviews. Could you maybe do a short review of one of these new releases compared to a first gen hollow body to see what you get if you do a ten year jump?
Gross Si, if we run trigonometric measurements then you are correct, but the 6mm low would have much more effect on efficiency drop offs than the 1mm hypotenuse number, so gross figures are better to understand the gross effects of efficiency or smash factor drop offs 👍
I much prefer the Mizuno looks, but unfortunately require an iron that is 3 or 4 degrees flat. That requirement eliminates the Mizuno, which seems to be 1.5 degrees more upright than other manufacturers. Bummer.
Hi Barry, I'm glad you know your fitting requirements, not many people do so that's a good thing. I would say though that from a fitting position, Mizunos have always been one of the flattest irons standard compared to all other manufacturers. If you had said Upright 4 degrees I would of agreed that you would need to potentially search elsewhere. Titleist for example are 1.5 degrees more Upright than Mizunos standard like for like, so in actuality if you are looking for comparative flatness, Mizuno should be very near the top of your list to seriously consider 👍🏻
@AskGolfNut perhaps I'm misreading the specifications then? When I compare Titleist, TM Stealth & Mizuno HM 6 irons eg, the Titleist & TM are 62.5 degrees & the mizuno is 61 degrees. I thought the higher number is flatter? Very happy if I'm wrong?
well that is good news then, as Mizuno here we come I think. I was custom fitted into 4 degrees flat many years ago by a PGA professional. That meant I was either buying forged irons, so that could be bent accordingly, or Ping irons & I didn't like the feel of Ping irons. When I was younger & a better golfer forged irons were fine, but at 68 years young, cavity backs or similar are my preference now. @AskGolfNut
Enjoy the video but as a senior golfer don’t swing at the speed you do. If possible is there a possibility of swinging under 80 mph or perhaps use a more average golfer in some of your videos. Kind regards. 😊😊
Jay.. Ping must have changed the 430 head materials because their prior cast were 18% Ni 4% Chr, precipitation hardened, and a bugger to adjust lie*s. Comment ??
My 5 cents worth of advice: in the heat of battle on the golf course, you want irons that you can rely on to deliver a good shot reliably... Ping is the answer. Sure, the Mizuno irons look much sexier and feel better on the odd shot, but continuous shot reliability is what we golfers look for. I started playing golf 50 years ago (log time!) and Ping was the go-to golf irons then. Today, nothing has changed... it is still is Ping!
Due to price differences in different regions (fluctuate quite a lot in different countries) also within regions, prices range greatly also. I could give MSRP but in reality no online or pro shop retailer sells at MSRP. Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
But some do, it's a fairly equal split. Some care some don't, if you don't, then ignore the parts when I talk about sound. Same goes for looks as well, some care and some don't 👍🏻
My personal choices are exactly those, but my review is unbiased in the basis of giving honest and open club head data attached to any ball data performance differences. If there are any performance benefit in any particular area, by me giving detailed head data analysis, any and all variances good bad can be easily equated. So absolutely you have a point and I'm assuming this may be the first time you have watch my content. But I can assure that my own personal choices in brands that I personally like have absolutely no bearing on which wins or loses in any particular comparison. If I didn't give the data I do, I absolutely understand that people could doubt what I'm saying with one way or the other. I'm intensely honest and believe in giving evidence based conclusions 👍 Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
That's ok Dave, my channel isn't for everyone. I do it differently, I properly test equipment, also on miss hits and test properly how forgiving equipment is or isn't. It takes time, and I guess that's why no one else do reviews like I do. They'd rather concentrate on creating click based content 👍 Thanks for the comment though 👍
@@AskGolfNut ok - maybe I was having a bad hair moment. I do watch some of your stuff. But 28 mins is ott. It’s not about “click bait”, it’s about editing content to a reasonable timeframe so you, the UA-camr, can get your point across, and we, the viewer, can benefit from the content. There is a reason why most clips on gear reviews are approx 10mins. Granted some other types of golf vids are 30-60 mins, but they are rarely gear reviews.
It's ok Dave, no need to justify your point. I agree. I've tried for years to find a balance between reducing the content length but then anything I say has been criticised for not having sufficient evidence to back anything up. Especially when I'm doing reviews and obviously Mizuno reviews with my choice of clothing on show. It's important that I give evidence to prove anything said. Thinking about what you said, always open to comments. I may make 2 reviews, 1 shorter no more than 10 minutes and the other in depth review, full length 🤔

I ordered HM HL graphite with different grips 5-GW for $1500 au at largest Aussie retailer - Pings $2100 plus extra for graphite and grip changes
Many thanks for another H2H comparison👍👍
The numbers for each club are so similar making a buying decision would be down to brand preference, aesthetics and acoustics (as I'm a deaf old bugger I would disregard the sound).
One big difference is price. The JPX is around $50 per club less expensive. Game, set, match Mizuno!
In the UK very similar priced but I went to try the ping ended up walking out with the jpx 923 pro
I have the JPX 921 Hot Metal ,Love them Great feel and Distance , bought in spring 2022 for $875.00 Deliverd ,May have too get Lie angle adjusted as when I go after it ,I Hook them other wise baby Draw.
@@Thataintnothing I'm still waiting on mine, I can't wait !!
Makes me want the Takomo 101s even more considering how close there are to these at a fraction of the price... Probably going to pull the trigger on those.
Your are doing excellent work. Love this in depth comparison
I hit both of these, the Titleist and srixon and the mizunos were a grade above everything else IMO. I went in wanting the srixons but after hitting the mizunos the feel and hight I got from them was the best out of everything
What this showed me is that when you’re a great golfer it doesn’t matter what you’re using. I’d like to “miss” like you miss my guy. Well done!
Very much appreciated thank you 👍 don't forget to subscribe and share the channel to all your fellow golfers 👍
Excellent review!
I'm looking at irons and Ping. I have to hit them of course along with the Mizuno, Titleist, Callaway, but your review is so excellent.
Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
From the fitting numbers I got with the JPX 923 Hot Metals, we knew that the 923 HMs were going to be hard to beat.
Will have to add the new Titliest T350 into the mix now. They look awesome and closer to the Mizuno JPX 923 IMPO. 🇺🇸
I’ve hit the 7i hmp (105 modus tour shaft) 195. I can wait to see how far my 5/6 will go
Such a great review, as usual, including forgiveness on off centre hits (:
Glad you enjoyed it! Don't forget to subscribe and share if you haven't done already 👍
My g430's have made me love golf again!!
From a coaches, custom fitters and lover of all things golf perspective, I'm always happy to hear these kind of comments 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I’m mixing a set of Mizunos , soon as the new forged wedges are in stock
Great review showing how much a bad average weekend hacker can get away with 😀 Love the way you show all results from the mis-hits. I've just won a ping g430 bundle , driver 3 wood and hybrid and full iron set from caddy comps so i guess I'll be trying out all the face on those g430 irons. 👌👌
Keep up the good work 👍
Great review Mizuno clubs always look good and as a senior Mizuno graphite shaft no extra charge that is unique in golf.
Curious how you found the DARKSpeed Irons option? 👍🏻
As far as game improvement irons go Mizuno JPX's are my absolute favorite. They just look and sound amazing they don't have faux carbon fiber stickers or plastic inserts all over them. They are just very sleek
I was recently fitted and tried several clubs. Went in wanting the Mizuno’s but I hit the Ping’s a little bit better. Can’t go wrong with either.
Absolutely agree 👍
Oh yea got the Recoil 95 gram Graphite Shafts that Look like Steel and My First Regular Flex as I Will be 66 in April ! cheers From Cincinnati !
Great comparison review. Love the mis-hit forgiveness results.
Personally I believe its the best and most useful part of any review I do. Most if not all golfers, miss the middle, knowing how something will perform when not hit quite right is more important than when all us reviewers smash it out the screws.... give or take 😊
Thanks for the kind feedback 👍
@@AskGolfNutI absolutely agree. This, and then also when you once in a while swing with human speed 😅 - i.e. low/mid 80’s for 7i, which is even more telling of how they will perform in mere mortals hands… 😊
Really great head to head, I've had my JPX923 HM for just over a month, and I'm absolutely delighted with them. I haven't tried the 430's, it's sad but just don't like the way they look!!!! I think I need to get out more!!!!!!
agreed. Shouldn't matter but for some reason it does.
Personally, I’ve never had a scorecard that knew what my clubs looked like.
damn, great in depth review. loved that you showed what happens with, hmm, not so good shots 🤠
Awesome job as usual. Keep up the good work
P/S: I do not see many American UA-cam Channels doing lesser-populer brands like Yamaha, Honma, XXIO, Yonex. I believe if you could tap into that it would open up a HUGE amount of followers from Asia
i tried the Pings and every other set of irons. The Mizunos were longer, straighter and easier to hit with a small dispersion.
That was a fairly easy decision then 🙂🙂👍
Long winded, lol, you're Mr. Concise! You even covered my slightly open club face thought. From just north of L.A., thanks.
Tell that to the I want everything in a review covered in 3 minutes guys 😂
Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
I have Mizuno 923 but after I tried calloway an ping I got more distance an they feel great
Good review.
Just bought the Mizunos HM and im really pleased with them! Interested to see the results of this head to head!
Can you test the ZX4 MKII against either of these?
I'll definitely see what I can do 👍
Yes, please. Would be very interested in that comparison.
@@b8353 Another request for a head to head with the ZX4 MKII. The Srixon looks like it might be just as efficient but a little hotter face.
Would also like to see this comparison
hey, my home course! Great review
Would really like to see how the Srixon ZX 4 MK11 compare to these two clubs. Thanks
I'm going in for a club fitting soon. I don't care what they recommend but if I was to decide it would be the Mizuno just because of the price.
Never realised there was so much fluctuations in the retailing cost across the globe 🤔 in the UK Ping and Mizuno are fairly on a level price wise.
Would like a hot metal but no left handed. Liked the Stealth HD vid you did, though.
Reviews are great. In terms of being unbiased, it might help the perception if you aren't swagged out in Mizuno gear when doing Mizuno vs another brand reviews haha 😀
I can't really help my choice of clothes I like 😊 and I do give detailed club head data to prove any findings. I understand how it may look, but also would look a touch weird if I was constantly kitted out in different manufacturers apparel every video 😁 not sure if have enough wardrobe space 😊
But hopefully by giving all the head data people can see through the choice of clothes I like and see evidence of any findings 👍
@@AskGolfNut Haha no problem! It is very clear from how you present the results that you are as unbiased as possible. I was just getting a chuckle out of it. Need to get an "AskGolfNut" hat and polo and then your problem is solved!
An AskGolfNut hat with the slogan #nothingfeelslikeunbiasedreviews 😂😂😂😂😂
I made the right choice in my eye mizuno all day long
Horses for courses sometimes with equipment so close in its performance and forgiveness, although during fitting one may absolutely shine over the other.
Great review! Where do the Mizuno 225 irons fall? Are they in this category? Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!
Sorry
@@timarmington8142 just a personal preference as far as the looks go. Not a fan of neon colors on my golf clubs. Call me old fashioned lol
@@legend9018 im the same way!
Love the sound from ping
In prehistoric times, I bought a set of MP-H4 based on one of your reviews. Could you maybe do a short review of one of these new releases compared to a first gen hollow body to see what you get if you do a ten year jump?
I'll have to see if I have something like that sitting around to test with 😊
what club head was bigger?...thanks
I have the ping 425 irons and they go super high .. any suggestions for a lower ball flight “game improvement iron?”
Sounds like u need a different shaft.
@@brianpilley3801 yea they are the ping graphite shafts .. I prob shouldn’t be playing them but I prefer the feel of lighter shafts
g430 - like the review. With the Maths, 20mm Toe and 6mm Low is 21mm off centre. That's impressive and a lot but not 26mm off the centre? Simon
Higher the number the more upright it is, lower the number the flatter 👍👍 have you been for a custom fit to get all your required specs?
well that is good news then, as Mizuno here we come I think.
how would the jpx 923 HL version factor into this?
Jay.. Ping must have changed the 430 head materials because their prior cast were 18% Ni 4% Chr, precipitation hardened, and a bugger to adjust lie*s. Comment ??
Mizuno all day every day!
Like my G425 ping irons
They are a really good set of sticks 👍
So no differences p,aging a 7 iron, but what about a 5 or 4 iron? We amateurs get never to test a 5 iron, you can do for us
Your hitting the mizuno low 28 loft on 7 iron. Ping 29 degree loft
The face or the loft?
My 5 cents worth of advice: in the heat of battle on the golf course, you want irons that you can rely on to deliver a good shot reliably... Ping is the answer. Sure, the Mizuno irons look much sexier and feel better on the odd shot, but continuous shot reliability is what we golfers look for. I started playing golf 50 years ago (log time!) and Ping was the go-to golf irons then. Today, nothing has changed... it is still is Ping!
just buy both
When you compare them why not give the standard basic prices
Due to price differences in different regions (fluctuate quite a lot in different countries) also within regions, prices range greatly also. I could give MSRP but in reality no online or pro shop retailer sells at MSRP.
Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
Thank very much now I’m leaning mizuno / can you do a review with a slower ladies club head speed and throw in the strixon 😂
we are all improving, why wouldn't you want a g430-
I never understand these guys complaining about the sound. I could care less if it preforms
But some do, it's a fairly equal split. Some care some don't, if you don't, then ignore the parts when I talk about sound. Same goes for looks as well, some care and some don't 👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut I appreciate the content no matter what. I just never understood the sound thing.
It's hard for me to trust your review is fair with all the Mizuno gear everywhere... Especially when I've seen the 425 & 430 doing so well out there.
I'm intensely honest and believe in giving evidence based conclusions 👍

Mavriks are easier to hit for me
I'm sure this was a good review - but too much waffle at the start and I noticed the 28 min run time. Gave up.
That's ok Dave, my channel isn't for everyone. I do it differently, I properly test equipment, also on miss hits and test properly how forgiving equipment is or isn't. It takes time, and I guess that's why no one else do reviews like I do. They'd rather concentrate on creating click based content 👍
Thanks for the comment though 👍
