He didn’t kill him self. Have a very reliable inside source who knew him played music with at his home in the “basement on the hill”. He says he is fairly certain his gf murdered him. Said she was fucking psycho and mean.
Fun fact: The line “She shows no emotion at all Stares into space like a dead china doll” is actually borrowed from the song “Dirt” by Heatmiser (Elliott’s old band) which contained the lyric “A china doll, you wanted it all You're a china doll, you don't feel nothing at all”

Ever heard of Nick Drake?
God he was soooo much more gifted as a guitarist and a melodicist than Bob Dylan.
Fuck watching this makes me very fucking happy, yet horribly sad. I really miss you Elliot!
My favorite song by the ultimate bad-ass . Miss this guy everyday. He was the king of inversions.
What an amazing voice. So raw and real. The real tragedy is the way the holly dream tears so many part.
Elliott Smith was a tortured Beatle a few decades out of time, but nevertheless still a beautiful soul. Sad to know he's gone, but his music will survive him through the years.
Tea & Book talks The Beatles are far from the only comparison, when an artist is exceptional.
A Beatle? haha ok bro. He doesn't need a band. One man show
when he killed himself the last thing his gf heard through the bathroom door was a shreik of pain. he clearly regretted it at the last minute
That was beautiful. I didn't know he left us. Oh my. I'm never gonna know him now, but I'm gonna love him anyhow.
He didn’t kill him self. Have a very reliable inside source who knew him played music with at his home in the “basement on the hill”. He says he is fairly certain his gf murdered him. Said she was fucking psycho and mean.
Didnt know you until it was too late, but you came along at the right time.
Fun fact: The line “She shows no emotion at all
Stares into space like a dead china doll” is actually borrowed from the song “Dirt” by Heatmiser (Elliott’s old band) which contained the lyric “A china doll, you wanted it all
You're a china doll, you don't feel nothing at all”
Thanks for sharing. I had no idea. 🥲
Unbridled musical genius.
It kills me so beautifully. Every time I hear it.
One of the greats.
Breathtaking talent...one of my favorite songs :(
Oh Elliott..... I just want to hug him and tell him it’s going to be alright. What a beautiful and raw human being. There will never be another like him
I heard Milo Rosse sing one line from this song on his Awful Archeology episode, and i immediately fell in love. Glad to hear the rest of the song is just as good!!^_^
Thank you to all involved in recording these performances this is truly amazing.
Found out he wrote this about his estranged mother and I have one too. Love you Elliot.
We are blessed to have had him as long as we did. He is now a permanent archetype in our collective consciousness. We miss you Elliott, thank you for giving us so much of yourself..
i dont think im ever going to be able to listen to elliotts songs without sobbing
What an amazing artist
I didn't know him before I watched Love Simon. Now I love him 😍
So simple: a guy and a guitar. And so fantastic.
Unique, original and heavenly
our sweet elliott! yet another beautiful performance
Beautiful
this song never fails to crush my soul. "you're no good"
beautiful soul, we miss you
Happy birthday king! We miss you
No olhar dá pra ver a melancolia as músicas dele me representa
We don't make musicians like him anymore
Such a great song by a very talented man This hits hard 💔💔💔🎸
God damn I wish he was still with us.
One of the truly unique songwriters we’ve ever known. I cried so much when he died.
"I'm never gonna know you now, but I'm gonna love you anyhow"
The pain, such love.
I love you forever, Elliott.
I've been listening to this song exclusively for almost 3 days now.
Named my youngest son after this song. His initials are XO. Miss you Elliot.
Beautiful
Named my son Elliott!
You named your son Waltz #2 ?
Same with my elliot , hes 7 now xx
He looked so much older than he really was, I've never seen another person so full of pain, I mean visibly. At least he found peace, after suffering for 34 years. It's such a shame that he couldn't find that same peace in a different, less harmful way.
He really didn’t look *that* old. He had pockmarked skin from acne.
Very true
@@bradfield2266 No he does, have always thought this
@@bradfield2266 Loooking older isn't always meant to be an insult. Age is is revered in many ways. He's an amazing talent. So sad we lost him :'(
I think he looks very young. By 34 most people just were an emotionless mask to get through the work day.
Easily the video i love the most. Stunning performance
