The fact that this song is such a beautiful and sad song really goes with the fact that he really knew how to show his emotions out in the open on his sleeve even in the midst of being recorded. It really showed that he was definitely brave enough to sing even when he was sad. I don’t think a lot of musicians don’t really do that these days, so Elliott was really sincere about that aspect. Somehow these songs sound like the dark corners of Portland Oregon and the surrounding area. Every time I hear these songs it takes me back to roaming around Vancouver, Wa/Portland, Or area drinking and using with friends as a teenager. It reminds me of smoke-filled basements and garages and of music venues and bars. It also reminds me of the people I've met here. It's impressive how he captured that intangible feeling in his music. It really feels like home.

This song is heartbreakingly beautiful.
Somehow these songs sound like the dark corners of Portland Oregon and the surrounding area. Every time I hear these songs it takes me back to roaming around Vancouver, Wa/Portland, Or area drinking and using with friends as a teenager. It reminds me of smoke-filled basements and garages and of music venues and bars. It also reminds me of the people I've met here. It's impressive how he captured that intangible feeling in his music. It really feels like home.
