    The last chords of the Air (4:50 onward) are truly stunning harmony. Followed by one of the slickest reel breaks I've ever heard. Love this medley so much

      Sadly the recordings can never capture that feeling in your chest when a truly great band is in full flow....

      I reckon we should start a petition for them to play Flowers of the Forest, Oft in the stilly night, going home, mist covered mountains, my home or amazing grace (or all of the above😂) at the festival of remembrance at Royal Albert Hall 2021 (or 2022 if 2021 is cancelled)

      When your playing sheepskin bags as these guys are you try not to use a bag cover when your practicing

    • @chinngis83
      @chinngis83 7 років тому

      Because it affects the sound?

    • @chinngis83

      Indeed.

      It's actually to do with the moisture. See with a bag cover all the moisture gets trapped from the day before. So they practice without bag covers to dry off the bags, sheepskin is especially affected by moisture than say a synthetic Canmore bag. Hope this helps.

    • @Oliver-jz1en

      Better sound. I bet almost all grade 1-2 (maybe 3 at a push) bands use sheepskin.

    • @macs7641
      @macs7641 2 роки тому

      Until the mid to late 90's bags were almost exclusively "naturals" - sheepskin or cow/elk hide. The synthetic revolution came along and established itself in the mix then developed to include hybrids. In recent times there has been a steady return to natural in many top bands and players. Likewise, cane vs synthetic drone reeds followed a similar trajectory during the same timeline. Many stuck with natural or combinations during this period too.
