Playing their superb Day 2 medley at the Lord Todd bar. This was the medley which secured the band a 3rd place spot in the World Pipe Band Championships a few days later...
The tunes are:
William Grey
McPhedran's Strathspey
Puirt à Beul (Strathspey & Reel)
The Humours of Tulla
Major David Manson
Hector the Hero
Coppermill Studio
Rory MacLeod
The commitment just to be in a band is huge ,but to get to the top while doing it is truly selfless ,you do it because of the people around you ,it's such a good environment to be in
So refreshing seeing pipers play in clothes I wear out to the bar...OUTSTANDING!!!👍👍👍👍
All that memory work to learn the tunes for their medleys, plus staying together while playing AND marching. And then the cost of the kilts and their instruments and transportation to the competitions. My hat is off to all pipe bands everywhere in the world !!!
I agree with the announcer at the green last year, that this was the best Medley every played at the Championships. I can't tell you how many times I have listened to this medley for inspiration. Just Awesome!!!
To this day still an awesome medley!
just watched this pipes great and what a performance from there bass drummer and tenors a great show AMAZING that's what makes bands entertaining SHOWMANSHIP
Great talent and dramatic flair!
5 minutes in, the best change over I have ever heard from a pipe band. Well done!!! Brilliant!!
dencar777 Agreed. Awesome!
Agreed. Wow.
Faultless.
Still the best medley from the Worlds last year, can't wait to see what they bring this year!
Absolutely Fekking Brilliant!
Doesn`t get much better than that .
Just superb, really sums them up.

Amazing 👍👍 very high level of playing 🎵
Opening tune simply Beautiful.
Thanks for posting!!!
Nice set.
why don't people just listen to this as being a band , anybody who has played as this level can tell you that as brilliant! as Stuart is he wouldn't be able to create what he's done without the talented people around him .I wonder how many people that listening to this band can tell u the name of the bass drummer !
+Duncan Mckinlay He's one of a kind. Goes along with the tenors so bloody well.
i can tell you hed make a fine morris dancer if you got that bloody drum out of his way!
Duncan Mckinlay
awsome band,if they can keep it up they will be champs
Glesgason rick. They did it in 2017
Good call
The most musical band for me at the moment
Amazing
There is none more fierce in battle or more gentle in love than a Celt.
I haven't been to band practice since March of 2020... Covid-19. We will be meeting again in a few days.
Are in thay pipe band?
Sgoinnel, clutch am piob mor, airson Eachan mor nan cath!
Terrific! Wish we could have heard the bass drum tho. Thanks!
Oh the Bass drum is there, you just have to listen for it. That's the beauty and benchmarks of all great bands, the bass drummer doesn't disturb the melodic line, but it's there. Strathclyde Police were the same in their heyday, tuned exactly to the Bass drone and keeping the tempos steady. Too many bands, even in Grade 1 have a bass drum that is too loud and resonant which, in my opinion spoils the musical performancs and ensemble.
5:10 what’s that song?
coppermill studio
......who's the bass drummer ? Great job, good lad.
Bass drummer was Mark Stark.
i just cannot like all that bass drum arm flailing. hit that damn thing and stop trying to flap away already. great tunes!
+jeff61177 being able to move with the music makes timing so much easier. He's great and you're just jealous LOL. you must hate tenors too huh
+jeff61177 Based on that logic, tenor drummers should just hit the drum too. The visual effect of his arms actually instill a sense of time that goes beyond a simple foot tap or beat that you're listening for. I think having that adds tremendously to the cohesion of the band (not to mention that it complements the tenor work!).
Thats the way most bass players play it looks good for it is good its part of the show That Bass player is 100% playing that bass drum please rem theres 20 pipers and maybe more you see where the recording your watching is being taken from Class Band. 2012 - 2015 to me was a real turning for this band because Stuart & Stephen wasnt happy to stay at this level they turned the screw down on themselves and the band thats why They have won the worlds twice. Well done Inverary.
