Greg I just want to say thanks, 3-4 years ago at the beginning of highschool I was having lots of trouble finding a hobby/interest but then i got into cars, I always love learning about cars, how thy work, what each part does, how to make them better, and so on. I don't own a miata, but since I started watching your videos a year and a half ago they have taught so much about cars/engines. For this I am extremely grateful. There are very few good automotive youtube channels, most are just rich kids flaunting their gtr's and such. Please keep making more videos like this.
Nikki Naydenov That's awesome to hear man and thanks so much for watching. I make the videos the way I do because I love teaching people about car stuff. Hopefully in the next couple months I'll at least be able to flaunt a 350hp+ Miata 😁. Cheers
I like small individual videos, I'll probably reference them later during my build and think it would be easier to find what I'm looking for, than having to skip through a video.
When it comes to the videos, keep them shorter with one thing at a time but make sure you pack them with every ounce of info you can because you're really good at providing info along with explaining everything, that's what makes you different from a lot of other youtubers
Greg, I'm sort of in the same boat as Nikki, I don't own a Miata...YET! And after watching your videos, I'm wanting one more and more! I wish someone would have videos like yours on an ND, or you can do turbo on an ND...LOL! Those locking studs, I used them on my headers for my Camaro, they were a pain to put on the header bolts, but in time I was able to do it and had no worries of the nut backing out. I'm slowly going through all your videos, long, short and in-between, they're all very good and informative with good details. Thank you for all you do!
Funny, just finished re-tightening all my turbo manifold and manifold to turbo nuts this morning. This is an upgrade that is in my future I do believe. Greg are you going to do any turbo bracing to reduce stress and avoid cracks on the turbo manifold welds and what not? Curious how the low hanger manifolds hold up. My brother was routinely (well twice) cracking his FM manifold on his race car and eventually just braced it with some steel angled up from the block and no problems since.
i got that problem too. solution im gonna use is a little different but hope it works too. standard nissan lock tabs for the t25 flange and i welded the studs on the back side. great vid. thanks!!!
I hope you can start uploading more than 2 times per week, the way you give us knowledge is awesome dude, thxs for the effort I support you from Venezuela..:! it is my dream to one day make a living out of working on cars ;)
I like more videos per week. Keep up one of the best car channels on youtube, the most clear instructions and thorough. Well not as thorough as chris-fix but he is ridiculous wayyyyy over the top. You should see his "how to start an old car" video. Basically replace every part on the car first was his solution. Meanwhile on roadkill they would have just hooked up a battery put in some fuel and cranked it over. He turned it into a multi day process it was ridiculous it was like a joke.
Hey G, ya more videos with increased detail and information. The squeaky wheel has spoken and the masses want more videos per week. Keep up the great work.
Wow that a great invension. Also what you think about running 3inch straight exhaust with stock muffler? Also put exhaust cut-out valve, and make twin exit miata also I would love to see pulls when it's closed so you can blow that muffler. Another idea, cut muffler in half to go inside.remove all those baffles and sh*t and make nice stock look "muffler"
Please finish this Miata, I've been watching since nearly the start I'm so eager to see the finished product. Love the content, shorter videos would be nice.
man that's a slick stud set. I've had the same issues with my 4g63t turbo, and manifold studs. I'm wondering if they make a set for my application. might even be the same thread as yours? Also I vote for one long vid per week, it's torture waiting. But keep it up bro, it's coming together!
Hey Greg, I noticed you installed a gasket where the turbo meets the manifold. However many companies like FM and Begi suggest not using a gasket because the surfaces are machined flat and should seal. They claim that the gasket typically breaks or blows out. Whats your reasoning for using a gasket? I'm guessing its a BorgWarner thing?
1. it was included with the turbo. 2. I've never had a turbo gasket fail unless the mounting hardware comes loose. 3. It's not worth the risk of having a leak there, you just start losing performance so fast. :)
do more videos it is better for the UA-cam views and that will bring in more sub sandwiches which means a larger audience getting to see your awesome videos!
Hey Boosted! Yeah the style and detail would remain exactly the same, just cut down into individual jobs. I'm not quite decided yet but as others have mentioned, it will be a better resource to have the videos broken out. And at the end of the day, I just want this series to be a nice polished up Miata encyclopedia.
hey bro motor is looking good man mad props !! with the intake manifold on this turbo beast vvt have u removed the vtcs aka butterfly runners just curious
I've had to tighten the turbos on both Miatas SO many times. It's especially annoying at the track because it's so hot and you have to reach underneath the turbo with small tools.
I tried the stage 8 locking w/ arp bolts and still had it fail, so far bolts from RE fastener grand 10.8 with stand nuts and Nord Locking washers have done the trick on my turbo build ;) ... put to the test at The hill on Saturday in 107* heat lol
smaller videos. when I see videos that are longer then 10 min I tend not to watch just because I watch UA-cam videos on my breaks. btw... what are your thoughts on the mkturbo
I prefer you do a bunch of smaller videos. When I go to find a piece of video to reference it's so much easier to find if it's in a short clip then a large clip, personal preference used your videos for lots of help with my jdm Miata
Robert Montgomery You may be getting my 2 Miatas confused, one was a budget setup (the Broke & Boosted series) and the other was a Garrett powered stock 1.6 on E85 that I blew up. This new motor is for the blown up car.
TheCarPassionChannel Thanks, asked bc was wondering if you skimmed some off for higher compression, but turbo applications don't need it right. loved you vids and schedule. I always watch them immediately & learn and get motivated. Thanks again!
the Eunos in Japan was made to house a turbo set up from the factory in 1989...thats why the space is there. .there must be a way to overcome this problem from the factory guys........
in the RC world, we call those E Clips, Jesus clips, because with the little ones they tend to fling across the room and you need Jesus's help to find it
Shorter videos make more sense because that way if someone's doing just one mod they won't need to watch a long video to find it. If you do long ones make sure to fine start points for someone who just needs one topic.
Cool product, but thats a lot of money spent, when you could just tac weld the nuts on. Even factoring in replacing the nuts and bolts each time, youd still be good to weld them and cut them about 4+ times before it even becomes close to the money spent on these fancy nuts.
Greg I just want to say thanks, 3-4 years ago at the beginning of highschool I was having lots of trouble finding a hobby/interest but then i got into cars, I always love learning about cars, how thy work, what each part does, how to make them better, and so on. a couple short videos per week sounds good
francisco hernandez ayyy what's up dude? I agree short vids. less editing work and all around easier output
francisco hernandez that not a bad idea huh
NoahBeale ayyyeee Noah!!! sup dude. Can't wait to see your build done and maybe also on youtube 😁
small constant videos please
plllzzzz'
Im a simple man. i see a cpc video, i pause my life and watch it
Albert Tufillaro i approve this message
Thanks for the heart:)
I vote for multiple short videos per week. Much easier to watch while at work... eh I mean at home.
BullPlop11 watching this at work rn. ehh home!
I like small individual videos, I'll probably reference them later during my build and think it would be easier to find what I'm looking for, than having to skip through a video.

I don't even have a Miata anymore. But I still watch these vids because shit is done properly with concern on reliability and Quality. Keep it up.
Short videos are nice to watch.
Keep up with the good work!!
Greg, I'm sort of in the same boat as Nikki, I don't own a Miata...YET! And after watching your videos, I'm wanting one more and more! I wish someone would have videos like yours on an ND, or you can do turbo on an ND...LOL!

Thank you for all you do!
I'd personally prefer 2 a week! Love these vids
Greg at it again, always learnin us how to do things right
Funny, just finished re-tightening all my turbo manifold and manifold to turbo nuts this morning. This is an upgrade that is in my future I do believe. Great videos even tho I don't own a Miata I respect a man who take time to build his car right and put out great content for us to watch 👌🏻
as many videos as possible, don't care if they are :30 or 30: I will watch all of them and cry every time I get in my stock 93'
More videos for sure. Love all of them.
i got that problem too. solution im gonna use is a little different but hope it works too. standard nissan lock tabs for the t25 flange and i welded the studs on the back side. great vid. thanks!!!
I like those lock tabs... that's a great idea.
**2 Hours Later** one of my favorite things of all time
a couple videos a week would be great, love your content
I hope you can start uploading more than 2 times per week, the way you give us knowledge is awesome dude, thxs for the effort I support you from Venezuela..:! it is my dream to one day make a living out of working on cars ;)

Nice vid, as always, paused from work to see this. Not disappointed

Short videos per week is a great way to go.
man that's a slick stud set. I've had the same issues with my 4g63t turbo, and manifold studs. I'm wondering if they make a set for my application. might even be the same thread as yours? Also I vote for one long vid per week, it's torture waiting. But keep it up bro, it's coming together!
this build is so sick! You're really doing your homework

I've learned many things thanks to your videos, awesome content and very detailed....and btw multiple vids a week would be awesome
i LOVE the black engine man! its awesome :3 btw. short videos - uploading regularly is better for yt algorithm
I say short videos through the weeks with good detailed info
do more videos it is better for the UA-cam views and that will bring in more sub sandwiches which means a larger audience getting to see your awesome videos!
Nice nuts dude! 😉The more vids the merrier. If you can spare the time to cover each item individually I'm all for it. Rock on ✊
Great video mate, I would love to see several shorter videos no real reason just think your content is great.
Im for short and sweet vids btw, but detailed and not too short, you know, just the right length for the subject, like this one was.
TheCarPassionChannel hey man, what year was the Miata TJ Hunt reviewed
hey bro motor is looking good man mad props !! with the intake manifold on this turbo beast vvt have u removed the vtcs aka butterfly runners just curious
How many times has your turbo came loose and or fallen off? Does it really happen that often that these studs are necessary?
I've had to tighten the turbos on both Miatas SO many times. It's especially annoying at the track because it's so hot and you have to reach underneath the turbo with small tools.
cover single tasks with many videos. they are short, sweet, and easy to reference for people that are building.
I tried the stage 8 locking w/ arp bolts and still had it fail, so far bolts from RE fastener grand 10.8 with stand nuts and Nord Locking washers have done the trick on my turbo build ;) ... put to the test at The hill on Saturday in 107* heat lol
I really like your s13 shirt! Where did you get it? Love the channel btw
short videos. great stuff man. I'm getting ready to start assembly on a very similar build.
Informative! Love the shorties. The content is 'mazin'.
So does this mean that the turbo is never coming off? What if it fails or something and you want to replace it?
whatever is easiest for you. love the content either way.
smaller videos. when I see videos that are longer then 10 min I tend not to watch just because I watch UA-cam videos on my breaks.
btw... what are your thoughts on the mkturbo
I prefer you do a bunch of smaller videos. When I go to find a piece of video to reference it's so much easier to find if it's in a short clip then a large clip, personal preference used your videos for lots of help with my jdm Miata
From which year is that intake manifold? I will be using a '99 VICS manifold.... hope it will suit the job
+Backyard Gearhead It's a JDM Squaretop ☺️ a VICS will work just fine.
TheCarPassionChannel Whats special about yours? Never Heard of them O__O
Smaller videos for small jobs would be perfect to reference back to!
Greg, you went for a low cost turbo setup originally, right?
Robert Montgomery You may be getting my 2 Miatas confused, one was a budget setup (the Broke & Boosted series) and the other was a Garrett powered stock 1.6 on E85 that I blew up. This new motor is for the blown up car.
TheCarPassionChannel Thanks for the clarification. I was mistaken
I'd like the longer videos once a week!
can you take those locking tabs off if you need to remove the turbo?
Yes. You just remove the e-clip, and the locking tab comes off.
Once a week with longer videos!
Am I the only one who enjoys watching longer videos lol? I literally have nearly replaced cable by watching UA-cam on my smart TV
Quick question...
my car will only build boost under 3k Rpms
Also when it hits 15lbs it'll die down right away.
What could you think it could be ?
robby torres Sounds like a wastegate problem
When do you estimate the engine to be in the car
awesome dude turbo man
Short videos like this is good
Where did you get your shirt. I have a 240 and I would love too get it.
I got it from Mike (SmurfinWRX) at Tuner Crate. I'm not sure if you can buy the shirts individually or not but maybe hit him up!
Great video! Shorties are best! (Short videos)they bring out your attention to detail on installs. 🤘😎
I like what you did but, why not get nuts with holes for safety wire? Should be cheaper and easier to mess with when the engine is in the car.
What lens do you use to get those shots boiiiiii???
shorter vids as this is good. good work. keep it up.
I reckon do a bigger video that covers a few things at once. Better to watch over dinner, etc.
Love your videos, long time subscriber
what did you actually do with the head at the machine shop?
PentaxSource Stiffer valve springs (single), back cut SS valves, minor portwork
TheCarPassionChannel Thanks, asked bc was wondering if you skimmed some off for higher compression, but turbo applications don't need it right. loved you vids and schedule. I always watch them immediately & learn and get motivated. Thanks again!
Nope, only a couple thousandths. And I went with lower compression pistons so I can run more boost and timing on pump gas.
Beautiful beautiful
A couple short videos per week I think would be more informational. You could focus on one thing at a time
I just thought I wonder if there's a better way to do this, then bam ''tis video comes out
Bro, where can i find that shirt? Love ya videos
I got it from Mike @ Tuner Crate... not sure if you can buy the shirt individual but maybe hit him up!
the Eunos in Japan was made to house a turbo set up from the factory in 1989...thats why the space is there. .there must be a way to overcome this problem from the factory guys........
Multiple vids man 👍🏽
multiple videos throughout the week.
quality over quantity bro
So why wouldn't you just safety wire them. It's slot cheaper setup and works well enough for turbine engines
do a few short episodes more than once a week
in the RC world, we call those E Clips, Jesus clips, because with the little ones they tend to fling across the room and you need Jesus's help to find it
Shorter videos make more sense because that way if someone's doing just one mod they won't need to watch a long video to find it. If you do long ones make sure to fine start points for someone who just needs one topic.
Short and frequent!
This harsh lighting makes you look like a Miata dracula
More is always better.
do lots of little videos throughout the week. I think that would be best
As epic as always :D
How did these studs hold up?
Excellent! They're still on the manifold
@@TheCarPassionChannel That’s good to hear. I’m either going to pick up a set or experiment with safety wire.
Short videos! It will be easier to find what we need when we refer back to the videos when building our engines
Cool product, but thats a lot of money spent, when you could just tac weld the nuts on. Even factoring in replacing the nuts and bolts each time, youd still be good to weld them and cut them about 4+ times before it even becomes close to the money spent on these fancy nuts.
ratgreen The studs are the majority of the cost. You can weld the nuts on all day and it won't stop studs from breaking or stretching.
more videos a week!!!!!!
What year Miata do you have
+Moe 1992
smaller videos man get to see more of you haha
More videos per week plase
oh shit here we go
Couldn’t you just have used nuts with lockwire?
More than one cpc video per week? who can say no to that
Small videos a few times a week
a good couple a week like alot of others are saying plus it would be more helpful an organized
My nigga Greg peters
#notificationsquad
#snapfam
#zoomzoom
#choochoo
#miataFTW
120 for that???? I just use grade 10.9 hardware and thoes knurled washers. never backed out yet
Is that efr?
Willtato Engineered For Racing, it's a series of turbos built by Borg Warner
short vids. it will get u paid more. i hate to say that for most youtubers but u better than most of them out there.
more vids per week!
