Great video. If I'm not mistaken, what you were referring to as the "clutch basket" is actually a "clutch pack assembly", and the "basket" is the eight fingered piece with the gear that houses the clutch assembly. I made it here looking on how to remove that basket

You are correct. I refer to the entire assembly as the basket but yes, they are separate components. Thanks for mentioning that.

When removing the eng side cover, I use a small rubber/nylon mallet and tap around the perimeter, i don't trust myself w/a prybar 😉 Might as well clean the oil spinner screen as it is right there waiting for a clean screen!

What indicates which side of the washer and the plates in the "machined side" and the non-machined side? Thanks!

Which way round does the friction plate go?

It would’ve been nice if you would have faced the camera back towards the motor so we could see the reassembly at the end instead looking at your face

I don't recommend he wonder-bar technique. There IS a place on the front of the cover that lets you tap the cover off gently with the HANDLE of a small hammer--or perhaps with a small lenghth of 1x1. If you use that method, you will be guaranteed not to break any fins off the cylinder. The spring washer is called a "Bellville" washer. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belleville_washer

Thank you Robert for the information! I'll keep it in mind and hope it helps others that see this. Can you describe roughly where that location is? I have a 82 CM250 with the same engine that I'll end up doing a clutch on and it would be good to know otherwise I can google it I'm sure. The Belleville washer is also known as a judder spring in some circles, and I think the clymer manual may actually refer to it as that also. Would actually make more sense to call it an "anti judder spring" but its good to know the actual name for it. Sort of how folks call a steering coupler a "rag joint".
