My grandmother passed away when i was in elementary/middle school but i still remember her vividly, my grandfather, her husband died 4 years ago and there isnt a day that goes by i dont think about both of them. I hope i make em proud
Some people don't know good music when they hear it. Their probably the ones listening to shit that I don't even call music. Kinda like half the stuff that's over any pop/rap stations on air. Least this song has meaning that will stick with thousands that have gone through the same circumstances. Hater are gonna hate either way. I'm old enough to know that this song will have meaning for people that are going through a similar situation so I commend you on writing this song straight from the heart. Keep up the excellent work I rk your doing. God bless.
I had just re-enlisted to get me to 30 years in the Air Force when my step-mom called me to say dad had Early Onset Alzheimer's. I went straight to the Commandant and told him that he would have to find a replacement because I was going "home" while my dad still knew who I was. He held on from then (2000) to 2006. It was the hardest thing I could have imagined. Thank you for that song. I am still not over losing him.
Reminds me of Ethel the church pianst; she lost her husband to alzheimer's, but she'd told me he could still sing one hymn, "In the Garden" from memory to his last day. They're both home together now.
Thomas that's a beautiful dog about someone and there mom it almost brought tears to my eyes . Keep up your talent writing and singing loved all your songs so far especially the parody. God Bless You And Your Family
I lost Grandma back in June. The first time I'm hearing this and I'm sobbing like a baby. You're doing a tremendous service to country music and the world. Keep it up.
You are so extremely talented! It warms my heart how you were so close to your Grandma. How are you not at the top of all country charts?! Your voice, melody and lyrics are exceptional. Keep doing what you are doing, I could listen to you all day long!
Idk how you don't crack up singing about this. My voice even cracks when i try to sing something important to me. I'd wouldnt be able to make it through the song. Good job man.
Keep writing and singing young man! That song brought tears to my eyes as I understand because of first-hand experience in caring for my Grandmother who has this horrible disease as well. It's saddening watching her slowly fade away and no longer able to recall the good times. God bless you, young man, and keep holding those memories close.
Watching someone you love forget who you are is truly one of the most painful and heartbreaking experiences. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Because for me, even though my grandma was physically alive, the person she was died a long time before her body did. And those rare lucid moments where they remember your name hurt oh so much more when it fades away.
My second Dad had this horrible disease, I had to watch as it devoured him and made him useless as a person , it literally broke my heart to watch one of my heroes be consumed by something I couldn't fix . I kept him for several months at stage 4 to give his children a break , I would have kept him till the end if they would've let me , he did so much better with me , because I let him do things his children wouldn't. I miss him terribly, he was my Dad's best friend and my second Dad . I was basically raised by the two of them , no mom to speak of .
I first ran into that disease when I was at my first duty station- Naval Hospital Bethesda. I watched it tear families up as their loved one slowly disappeared. Many years later, as my dad battled cancer, he was also starting to battle dementia. He held both at bay for more than 16 years before he was called home. There is no shame in and getting choked up while writing or performing such a beautiful tribute. Well Done!
Not once in my life has anything in terms of media, music, or other form of entertainment bring tears to my eyes but this just made me sob. You tell the story so clearly it puts me into your shoes as you go through your life with her and it has me over here cryin like I just lost my own 😭😭😍😍
This song just ripped out my heart, so glad I have a full box of tissues right next to me. I'm going through this with my husband now, and I feel like I'm not only losing him but also my best friend. This song is a great tribute to your grandmother and everyone who knows exactly how you feel. I am so sorry for your loss, and I love the fact in the end. You know she is fine and smiling, talking about her memories with you. I will definitely cherish my memories cause they are all I have right now. I wish you all the best in the music industry. Your songs are country, and the stories are amazing. You deserve way more recognition than you have. Truly talented.
Thank for a beautiful song. I lost my grandmother 2 yrs ago from this. It was heartbreaking to watch her fade away. I still miss her and cry from time to time for her. ..
You are going places. My grandmother raised me. I lost her on my 16th birthday. I'm 68 now and I still miss her. I don't want to leave my kids or grandkids but I take comfort knowing when I go she'll be waiting for me. ❤
You know- it takes a lot to impress me. I'm in my 60's and grew up listening to a lot of the best musicians we have ever had. I went to every concert I could, from Led Zeppelin to Pink Floyd. Never been a huge country fan, but straight up- Listening to you [Cooper too] is a pleasure. You are extremely talented. Keep pushing and NEVER do a record deal unless it's Holler Boy Records! ;) Oh....BTW? Grandma with Alzheimers? Sadly, I can relate. It's a wicked, wicked disease and I'm sorry it got her and that you had to watch it. It sucks, huh? 😪
You did it your music moved me it made a grown a$$ man cry I miss my grandma so much and the faucet just turned on your are a true musician your music can move people and inspire
Your song make me miss my Granny Hall, and she's been gone since 1980. She was my best friend as a young child. She was the one who gave me my deep roots in the Bible and its' teachings. I know ho we you miss her. You brought tears to this 60 year old woman's eyes with your simple eloquence and heartfelt singing. Maw must be proud up in heaven.
My granny was the person I loved being with when I was a kids. She would play the game sorry for hours. Made the best chocolate pie in the world. When I'd spend the night she always tell me the story about a bear who lost his toe. I was 17 the last I heard it. After she was in her 90's I call her and she thought I was my cousin. I didn't care it was fun to laugh with her. She's been gone for 40 years and I still miss her. She made me feel loved and special. Thanks for writing such a sweet song. Your grandma will still live through you when you tell your children about how much she meant to you.
I'm a grown ass man and this made me cry. I actually went through the same thing with my grandma. this song is truly beautiful., you have an amazing voice as well my friend keep doing what your doing!!!
I lost my Ma at 91, but before that day was the long goodbye.... And as I listen to your song it's as if you wrote it for me and mine, but then that is your true gift.... I truly thank you for what you do.... And somehow I've got a feeling they're both looking down and clapping their palms raw at your music, sitting side by side and stomping their feet to your beat‼️❤‼️
This song hits so close. My grandma an grandpa adopted my as a little one. And yea I was a pain as a kid, and she always got ice cream for us. Losing her an him was one of the hardest things I’ve ever went threw. Thanks for the song, I loved it! 👍🏻👍🏻

I understand how you feel and I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my great great grandmother a couple of years ago. I still cry sometimes when I think of the good times we had. The last moment I have of her was giving her my jacket because she was cold. Lots of love to you.
Of all the songs out there this one hit the mark, me and my grandma were the same and she passed from Alzheimer's. I know the pain but you took that pain to a beautiful place with this song.

Straight from the heart! My Mom and Grandmother were my best friends. Lost them a year apart😢; my Mom was just 56 and I was just 23. Huge hole in my world 🌎 and it got worse as I grew. This is wonderful ❤

My grandma is still here, but Alzheimer's is progressing. It's a terrible disease and this song gets me a little teared up. Wonderfully written, and personal to so many. Sorry for your loss, but I know she's proud of you.

How can people dislike this, this is actually country and a great song. I LOVE IT
They probably just missed the like button cause of the tears in their eyes
@@devin5297 No, I was just cutting an onion.
I think people dislike things that make them sad not realizing that it hurts the creators.
