    yes rent is so affordable (for the most part)! some of the newer complexes are expensive but my boyfriend lives in a 1x1 and pays $700 a month which is crazy! i think personally my biggest con is that the school admits so many people, but most of their majors are limited access. for example even if you apply and are admitted as a nursing major, you still have to get into the program. so many people that i know end up having to change their majors or transfer because its so competitive to be admitted into your major

    • @memexo11

      If your major is nursing at any school, it will be limited access.

      @@memexo11 oh interesting! i’ve heard of other schools not doing that for that major but it’s always interesting to hear what other people have experienced. for a major like that i’m not at all surprised about the limited access, but it’s like that for nearly every major at florida state which is pretty frustrating since the school also charges extra money if you take more than a certain number of credits. because of that it’s not even feasible to do an extra year and reapply to the major you want. not sure how it is at other schools 😊

    girlllll when I tell you everything you said is true, especially about the diversity issue. I’ve lived in Tallahassee all my life, and I’ve also been apart of a summer camp there for 3 years, so I’m kind of expected to go to FSU. But there is literally no diversity at the school, and I’ve been all around campus. There’s also SO MUCH WALKING, and most buildings look the exact same so it’s really confusing.

      Unless you are going to an ivy or some other super prestigious school its not worth going anywhere else (especially if you live in Florida). If you are from Florida and have bright futures and you have the choice to go here, go here (with maybe the exception of UF if you have that option). It is legit next to free. You will rage your face off as everyone does and at the end of the day employers don't really care about the program status at each of the schools. They don't go on college websites looking at the ranking of the nursing program or whatever. This place is unlike any other, there is a reason we call it "the simulation"

    • @onlypamcakes
      @onlypamcakes  5 років тому +4

      Thank you! And that really depends on your price range and what you're looking for. If you want a place close to campus that has nice amenities its going to be $700+ (not including utilities/insuranc!) like the luxe or the quantum (on call st) or 601 copeland. they're nice but pricier and you get smaller rooms. University village is pretty affordable and close to campus but the amenities arent as nice and neither are the living spaces. The further you get from campus the less expensive it will be. The social and polo club on high road are more affordable and not that far from campus.

I'm going to speak with my advisor about my options, but on the off chance that someone in the business realm sees this comment, can anyone vouch for FSU? For context, I am a commercial pilot with interest in the managerial/entrepreneurial industry as a fallback. I intend to enter the airline industry through a private flight school, with which I am currently getting my CFI (certified flight instructor) rating. If anyone has any information aside from what my advisor can provide, I would greatly appreciate it! I grew up as a diehard Seminole fan. I recommend that you go to fsu events! a lot of tcc students go to the fsu parties and its a good way to meet people. Also, join fsu clubs! Since you don’t have a meal plan, what is eating like for you?? i’m really conflicted ab whether or not to get one and i find it pretty confusing... also, with parking, do you drive to classes?

    • @onlypamcakes
      @onlypamcakes  5 років тому +3

      LOL i get so happy when i meet broward people here! I live on campus so i dont drive to classes, next year ill live off campus and will take the bus which is v safe+efficient a lot of people choose that option since parking is impossible. As far as eating, i usually eat breakfast in my dorm (yogurt, toast, smoothies, anything easy) and then i either go to my bf house for lunch or dinner since he lives off campus and has a kitchen, and then i eat a snack or something else if i need another meal. Sometimes if im really hungry i make eggs in the dorm kitchen. Theres a kitchen on every floor of every dorm so cooking is an option if your fridge has space for it (fridges are tiny!!)

    For an incoming freshmen do u recommend living at the school or outside ?

    • @onlypamcakes
      @onlypamcakes  4 роки тому

      theres pros and cons to both. Socially, I met some amazing friends in the dorms (that im still friends with!!) but, if you get involved on campus, you can still make friends living off campus. Some of my closest friends are freshmen that decided to live off campus this past year. I made a video about dorming, it really just depends on the person and what conditions youre okay with living in!

      Leah Clayfield he’s saying if ppl think having “too much diversity” is a con.. that’s a bad thing.. because it is that’s lowkey racist😭. but But the lady in the video said the con for her was that there was no diversity at her school that’s a bad thing for her bc she rather be around those a lot of ethnic ed and hers mixed together. a lot of people would. but the racist ppl would say “they don’t like having too much diversity” if that made sense
