yo those animations are clean. shifting the frame at the start in a way that's not super obvious and then slowly sliding it back in it's original position is a genius way to solve those cuts.
it's basically the theme of weapons that cut through time and space, look at Dead Cells' Queen's Rapier, though it's nerfed visually when you're using it as weapon compared to Queen when using it
