- I don't typically upload on Thursday but today I have a summertime day in the life for you! In this video I've got all things homemaking and a dabble of summer homeschooling happening.
We have a lighter homeschool routine in July and in this video I'm sharing a Summertime day in the life here at our new homestead. Homesteading and homeschooling large family is definitely a handful for a homeschool mom of six, there's no denying that! I did have some help though, this month my aunt, who's a professional organizer, came! You heard that right, I had a professional organizing my pantry!

I could care less if a video is edited or polished as long as it's real and helpful. You always deliver both.
Awe, thank you so much, Shelly!
I love the sweet image of your youngest child coming to pick a book just about the size he is. LOL The pictures that are those large books are the best. My 3 and 5 year olds lay on their bellies and look at each picture one at a time. Just thought I would share that sweet thing I saw!!! Everything is really coming along Shayla.
Thank you, Alesha! That's one of my favorite scenes too, 🥰!
I stumbled across your channel today while getting my chores started. ( I like to put my earbuds in and go) my children are all moved out, or baby is 18. I miss days like this sweet memories. During it was hard to get through at times and yes even a 5 minute reset is necessary to keep yourself strong and encouraged. I have to tell you your hair and skin is just lovely.
I love how you put that self care and prayer! So often I see the self care turning into selfish care...
I just found your account recently but I looooove this kind of video! ❤️❤️❤️ love the realness you shared in this.
Hi, I really liked this video. I like your down to earth style and that you show the mess and struggles as well as the joys. It's encouraging to see real life. Other homesteading/ homeschool channels polish their videos so much . They make their life seem like a fairytale, then I feel so down about my own household mess etc by the end of it.
Bless you.
That is so kind of you! Thank you!!
Boy you work
Hard !
Love your videos , love your
Honestly!
Remember mom “the days are long but the years are short”
God bless you REAL good…. I’m praying for you and your wonderful family 🌹
Thank you 🙏💛🥰
Love your videos. I’m binge watching. This is real life, and I love that. Your house is nice to.
I love your house!
So excited to make you're cleaning sprays..
I also have a Kitchen Queen stove. We love it!!!
Please make more of these videos sharing a day in your life!
Hello N! I will! Thank you :-)
Nice video! Your aunt did a great job.
Thank you!! 😍
My new favorite channel ❤
Awe, thank you so much!!
I use orange peels to make cleaner also. My fave is lemon and cedar vinegar I make from scratch. Heidi at Rain Counrty Homestead has instructions. It's divine.
I've used oranges before too, but I've never done lemon cedar, I bet that is really nice!
Love you! I am also a 2nd generation homeschooler with 4 kids age 4 months to 8 years old. You are such an awesome inspiration and I am so glad I found your videos... yesterday. Wow! Good stuff.
Awe, thank you Linde! I'm so glad to have you here and to be of service!🤍
Check out Elliott homestead for a sourdough starter. Can you do a video on making homemade cleaners?
Yes, I can do that! Thank you for the request!
I would love this as well. Thank you.
I could be wrong but I THINK peroxide has to be kept in a dark bottle to maintain its disinfectant properties. A while back, I wanted to do the same (put it in a spray bottle) but read somewhere that you shouldn't. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes. I went and googled it. If it gets too much light, it turns into water. Wanted to share that so you guys don't get sick.
I love your lemon/vinegar solution. I did this years ago and I miss it. I think I'm going to try it again ❤
Thank you for telling me, Jennifer! I do keep mine under the sink in the dark, and we go through it so quickly. So far I've not noticed it stop fizzing but I actually need to get a new spray bottle as this one broke down. I'll get a dark one next! I'll have to share that info with my audience too! thank you again!
I feel like my grandparents and great grandparents and probably people in many other countries use natural simple things like lemon and vinegar but that just hardly at all got passed down to our generation. (Im close to 40 too) I’m excited to try that; cleaners are so expensive and smell so strongly!
I agree! And some chemical cleaner fragrances are so strong to me to that that make me feel sick!
Such a beautiful day 💕
Very similar to mine except I don't make my own flour...
love your videos!!
Thank you!!
Love the style of this video 🤩🤩🤩 but I love all your videos 😊
Thank you so much!! ☺💛

Sourdough, kombucha, grains, essential oils... your kitchen looks like mines. If you're in the market for a grinder, look at the Mockmill. I'm not too excited about my Nutrimill, I wish my flour was finer too. I used the Mardels last year, this year we are trying Sonlights.
Awe, that's awesome about your kitchen, I'm so glad you found me here! I AM in the market for a grinder, I've been reading reviews lately. Thank you for the tip! Can you share with me what you don't like about the Nutrimill?
@@mountainhomesteadfamily I was expecting a finer flour than that which I can achieve with the Nutrimill.
@@homeschoolinthemountains7936 I just read a review saying that Komo make a finest flour, even more than Mockmill and am trying to decide what I'm going to do, lol! They are both so expensive!
@@mountainhomesteadfamily They are quite the investment but it will provide for years to come. Best of luck with your decision.
I love your plants and the way you hv placed them. They look lovely and add beauty to your already beautiful home.
I would really want to know if they are all real and if they are, how do you maintain them. Pls do reply.
Thank you.
Hello! They are real! I used to have 65, but I think I'm probably down to around 30 to 40. If you watch my most recent video I explain how I care for them, it's easier than you might guess!
@@mountainhomesteadfamily thank you very much for your reply. I am sure taking time out from your so busy schedule to read and respond to a comment is extremely admirable.
Do you have recipes for your cleaners?
Hello Dana! You're the second person to ask me! I am planning on integrating this into a video eventually. 🥰
What do you put in your smoothies? Recipie?
I'll share that in an upcoming video! Great question!
Wondering where you got the shelf and baskets you keep your potatoes in? Also, I'd love to hear how your gf sour dough turns out! I haven't gotten brave enough to make mine yet lol
Hello Kari! I will keep including a little of the gf sourdough journey in upcoming videos :-)! Here's an af link for you to the baskets and shelf, amzn.to/3bd3YE6 (baskets) and amzn.to/3BqTMT1 (shelf). The shelf is a little lightweight and each shelf can only hold 11 lbs. If I were you I'd shop around for a sturdier one maybe?
@@mountainhomesteadfamily good to know!! Thank you for everything. Love all the inspiration and encouragement. I'm definitely going to try that lemon vinegar!! 😀
