Bad news (and hopefully a little bit of good news): Unfortunately, just recently (since June 13, 2024), all Nintendo related sheet music (mine included) have been wiped from Musicnotes as per requested by Nintendo. It is a heartbreaking and extremely upsetting thing for all of us musicians who have worked tirelessly over the years just to share our love of its music and help others play our unique arrangements. In any case, I’ve recently begun creating piano tutorials (synthesia-style) of my past covers and will continue to do so. Hopefully these will still be of help for those who are interested in playing my arrangements. I’m sorry to those who may still want to purchase my Nintendo sheet music but are now unable to. Let’s hope somebody at Nintendo with half a brain cell remaining will someday reverse this nonsensical decision. So, despite this very bad news regarding the removal of my Nintendo sheet music, the (hopefully) good news here is that this cover will be created into a piano tutorial sometime in the near future. Please stay tuned for that. Again, I'm sorry that this had to have happened - it breaks my heart that simply sharing these hard-worked arrangements with fellow fans/musicians who just want to learn them is basically being taken away.
Sorry to hear that, this is such a beautiful cover that I keep coming back to time and time again, it’s such a massive shame that Nintendo doesn’t understand the love and appreciation we have for these tracks. I hope you’re doing well and I hope somehow this awful decision will be reversed, thank you for blessing us with this wonderful and nostalgic masterpiece of a cover ❤
I can just lie in bed all day and cry listening to the emerald soundtrack, its like looking back at my childhood, looking back at those simple days that will never come back.. sorry , I can't help it
As i've grown a bit older, i find that its better not to want to visit, but instead to be glad that you can have a whole new experience as you are now and just play through! you'll remember more, and have something new to remember as well when you think of the game again one day :)
How did I never notice that, I mean I did, but I never thought of it like that.I think the actual music producers wanted to give a very deep message through their soundtrack that your life is also a very long and beautiful, and a never ending journey. But honestly, the nostalgia in RSE soundtrack is so deep and heart-piercing, I can't help but shed tears every single time I hear it 😭 I honestly underestimated the power and magic of music💘
pokemon sapphire was my first true pokemon game for the gameboy advanced sp. i remember playing outside on warm summer days with my older sister during the day and then coming back home around sunset, plopping down on the living room couch, and playing this game for hours :') swampert will always be my original starter pokemon :) im in college now supposed to be studying for a test but this song makes me step back and think about the easy times
That was me for Pokemon HeartGold. I did the same thing, I would bring my DS to school when I was about 5, and during recess I would hide in a small little play house, playing HeartGold, training my Totodile, soon to be a Croconaw, then a Feraligator. During lunch I would again hide just to go back to Route 4 after getting a call and going to a Trainer Battle, then going home to do the same thing, day after day, and that didn't change for 2 good years of the good life. Fruit juice and Ho-Oh. Now being a Freshman means it's not as nostalgic as from child to adult but I still feel all warm thinking about it. This comment reminded me of that. Today I go back and grab my older sisters Gameboy and I put in Pokemon Red, then I grab my Gameboy advanced and put in Sapphire, Bulbasaur, Totodile, and Treeko were my three favorite and first starters.
I cried. It throws me back to when I was nine years old, after school I would have lunch and play Pokemon Sapphire on my living room couch with my dog by my side for hours on end. My family was dealing with divorce at the time and I escaped into Littleroot Town often. Every time I beat the gym, I would restart the game with different Pokemons. That was fifteen years ago. Today I think back about all the sacrifices my dad made, how blessed I am. My childhood dog has passed but I have another sweet dog with me for five years. Life is good. And I still play Pokemon. Waiting on that Pokemon Sword.
That was touching. I'm very glad you made it out of that and that life is good for you now! Thanks for sharing your story. Pokemon will live in our hearts forever!
Pokemon is not a game, it's a part of our heart and it will always be on our side even when in reallife dark times are coming Pokemon will never us alone.
I'm turning 30 this year and Pokemon emerald was my comfort game while growing up during a very rough part of my life. I would leave my gameboy advanced on all night till the batteries ran dry while I slept to the sound of littleroot town. This song is forever going to be in my heart and it will be played for my wedding.
I’m just standing by my toolbox at work and crying over a soundtrack from a 22 year old game. I miss playing sapphire while my brother played ruby and seeing who could clear the elite 4 first, that was a long time ago now…
In fact, as you say, it's unbelievable that thirteen years have passed. Too many good memories along this adventure. Keep making piano versions of this game! I love them!
Y'know? Every single of my most beloved and life-during friends, I met them and firstly deep connected with them because of our sheer love to videogames, weeb and geek stuff, that was back in middle school, looking back to it, we didn't had money to afford the newest hot stuff like Pokémon B/W, however we did had third generation games, and for me, this song represents that time of my life, we were all like, innocent and unaware, it is amazing how this song brings the nostalgia to my senses
BW was definitely one of the, if not the best Pokemon game. However when it was released, it wasn’t technically a “hot game” because it was really disliked by genwunners because of “haha trash and ice cream pokemon” but now it’s one of the most loved games. It took so long for people to like it lol
Oscar Lam man I grew up with ruby, fortnite isn’t good.. the music is usually not nostalgic and pretty bad, not to meantion battle royal is just getting cancerous
I had a rough childhood and back then I played Sapphire on my emulator. Listening to this doesn't bring back good memories, it actually makes me happy I got through those hard times playing Pokemon and now it seems to be much better. Thank you for this beautiful version :)
I can't believe it, you finally did it... it's absolutely beautiful... amazing job as always, now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go dig out my Pokemon Ruby
I love it SO MUCH!!! It brings me back to my childhood. Thank you so much! I already have tears down me ears because of the nostalgia and beauty of this piece! You've just earned yourself a subscriber!☺
I grew out of Pokémon about two years ago, and I played Omega Ruby. This is the most nostalgic track in that game. To make it even more somber I moved schools around the time I grew out of Pokémon. Life changes and evolves, and while this one song makes me feel sad, overall I am in bliss.
i usually watch this video once per year, but back when i was still around 9 years old, i suddenly liked playing pokemon games, and so, their musics... i found this video and it was so good, and i actually tried playing it by ear on piano, and i succeeded, this littleroot town theme is just so good lol...
Play-by-ear is such a valuable skill to possess. I used to take piano lessons as a kid, but over the years, I've lost quite a lot of piano skills, like two-handed play. Fortunately, I can still play by ear, albeit slow tho.
Hey Mike, Thank you so much. You redid my favorite track I ever listened to in my life in a breathtaking piano piece. I can't think of a better piece that captures the feeling of my whole childhood. I can't really describe what this does to me, other than make me cry. Thank you so, so much for this. This is the video I probably appreciate the most on this platform. A thousand times, thank you.
Amazing rendition! The basis is just simple arpeggio's with a melody line, but it's the small nuances that give it that beautiful feeling. I got goosebumps and shed a manly tear while listening to this.
Hi! I know this video is really old but I wanted to know how you're using the pedal in this song. I bought your sheet music and cant figure out how to pedal without it sounding muddy. I'd really appreciate some tips if you have any! :)
hearing a lone piano playing more simple music always brings me back to my childhood listening to one of my friends practice because his mom was super strict abt it and even tho i was over he still had to go over his piano music. add that on top of me being a certified hoenn baby, hearing this song hits me even harder in the nostalgia feels. this is amazing
Ah. The feeling of genuine nostalgia. This game is literally my childhood. Staying up late at night with my cheap headphones on… what a great time to be alive as a kid.
Pokemon emerald is one of my favorite games of all time. Pokemon is a underrated franchise that deserves more classic games like this. Good piano cover ;)
i love this series... i wasn't around when it first came out cuz i wasn't born yet but i love old stuff like this. i wish was around back then to experience this
Beautiful. I don't know the original piece, but your version is lovely. I like how it's well executed and there's some fancy pattern on the left hand. The main melody sounds nostalgic and dreamy, even though it's all new to me (I guess). Good job :-)
Pokemon Emerald was my first Pokemon game and even though I don't really remember this song or the game because I was so young, this song will be close to my heart for my entire life.
Pokemon Leafgreen was the very first Pokemon game i've played, this feels nostalgic on a emotional level, especially because it was a way to escape a hard youth ✨
Man I still remember when I got my Groudon Game boy advance SP with pokemon ruby. I pulled an all nighter under the blanket playing this awesome game. One of my happiest moments as a kid :D
I like to come here every once in a while. I didn't grow up with the game like everyone else here did. I wasn't really alive when the GameBoy was the big thing.
