It really is great acting here. Even when he is doing that fake cry and talking about how her sister were dying on the battlefield it's hard to tell if he is mocking her or genuinely about to tear up thinking about what she lost. Also, the way he looks at her with curiosity when he asks if she prayed to them. He really did do a great job of being a totally broken man that just had enough of what life served him.

That's exactly what they needed the story was so disconnected that they didn't even really make much mention of the fact that the necrosword is connected to the gods symbiotes associated with venom and Spider-Man story lines. They also extremely shied away from most of the gods slaying and did way too much comedy relief instead. If it had more of that serious tone that fit the situation this movie would have been so much better. Give this man screen time to show the seriousness of the situation and how far he is willing to go for his beliefs.
I really wish he saved those kids from the falling debris to show he still had a heart and to show he wouldn't want them to die like his own kid but he was a great antagonist never the less

I really like the source material and admittedly I didn't love this movie initially but after letting it marinate for a while I actually think it's underrated
To a certain extent he is. However thor and other gods helping contradict his argument. It's why thor choosing to fight him was great. Especially after endgame. He could look past the pain and hurt he felt from losing loved ones and instead direct that to helping others. Meanwhile gor couldn't look past his pain and chose vengeance.
