In light of Jonestown being a band with their best perpetually yet to come in the most admirably ambitious sense, you've gunned on capturing a seminal performance with this one, Cardinal Sessions. It's so rare to find something as welcomely haunting each time its seen as this.

I went to the BJM Concert two weeks ago, in São Paulo/Brasil. I can tell that was the best show that I saw live, in my 30 year of life. They are so fuckin dope!
BJM is one of the few bands left where they actually have a “sound” ... I like the groove of the songs with this drummer ... those cymbals and hats sound awesome
after watching this several times, as much as I love dan's style, it would have overwhelmed this kind of sound. he is original. anton seemed to want quick and constant and snappy....that's not dan -- thank god.....sorry dan. hope to see you again soon.
This has got to be the best live video of the BJM there is out there. I saw them at the barrowlands in Glasgow around the same time this was filmed, and this video makes me feel like I’m back there again. So so good
Been a massive fan of BJM for many years now. I love the brilliant melodies they create and beauty of their music. I go into glide mode when I hear stuff like Forgotten Graves and Nevertheless. Just genius levels of music creation. Right up there as one my favourite bands of all time. Thanks for this video, it is perfect in every way.
Ok - I’ve just discovered this because of a dust up at their Melbourne gig. These melodies are incredible. This is beautiful. If anyone can steer me into the right direction for more of their stuff, please comment. Thank you!! This is amazing!
I hope you'd entertain some differing viewpoints, at least be open to discussion on the subject. I have a hunch even Massacre members would be willing to add a few groups, such as the Beatles, Stones and The Band to the conversation...
I can´t believe their heads standing that still during the concert. My heart instantly fell for u when i first hear u guys. Hope tu see u all playing live one more time at least, you really got nostalgia runing trought your veins.
I really loved the spontaneous improv guitar jam at the end of Nevertheless. At 1:13:22, Newcombe tells the band "Don't rush!" and does a really great, beautiful jam experiment with only Joel Gion's wood block percussion and some rhythm guitar for accompaniment. I also loved the way they ended the show. Very Spacemen 3 style. No encore, just jam it out for 10 minutes, get feedback loops going, and leave the keyboard or synth (MD-20) on an infinite loop, and walk off the stage!
Fantastic show, beautifully shot, and the band is in fine form. I recall sending an email to their management in 2019 offering my services as a multi-instrument and getting a reply to check back in a few months. And then the pandemic. C'est la vie. Love your work, Anton! 💜
@@defoperator7993 I would love to see them again. I finally saw them live in 2018. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Their sound live is so so so good. I was amazed how good they still are. A lot of bands who have been doing this for a few decades lose their edge, they didn't.

Next step, follow Anton Newcombe on UA-cam then see them live (after covid) it'll be a top 5 gig guaranteed
Great band, really cool music...
Seen them twice and both times bloody great. The Newcombe wall of jangly sound!
I had to watch this today because I’m seeing them for the first time tonight in Philadelphia. This made me even more excited then I already was. They’re so friggen amazing!!
I’m from Philadelphia. I just started REALLY getting into BJM, looked up their tour schedule, and found out I just missed them here several weeks ago.
The audio recording quality is outstanding!
In light of Jonestown being a band with their best perpetually yet to come in the most admirably ambitious sense, you've gunned on capturing a seminal performance with this one, Cardinal Sessions. It's so rare to find something as welcomely haunting each time its seen as this.
lol i always think to myself that i need to break the habit of referring to them as "jonestown", so i'm glad to see i'm not the only one. "BJM" is just such a pain to say ahah
@@GettingHyphy if I might confide... I tend to alternate amidst totally feeling you haha
On point though, the difference between seeing them in '08, '12, then '15 here in Aus to watching this recording now just defies me on some semi-ineffable level. It's seeing 10 years hard work at manifest while the trajectory shows no sign of slowing. Assuming you're a fan on the younger side like me; it's just goddamned inspiring. Think of what we could do by the time there are even 40 candles on our cake, let alone Anton's 50-some... one stranger to another, let's carry on taking our shit seriously :)
I was at this show - first time seeing BJM live and hopefully not the last!
I went to the BJM Concert two weeks ago, in São Paulo/Brasil. I can tell that was the best show that I saw live, in my 30 year of life. They are so fuckin dope!
Now that's deep sound, what a treat.
BJM is one of the few bands left where they actually have a “sound” ... I like the groove of the songs with this drummer ... those cymbals and hats sound awesome
it's a girl on drum , I saw them in september 2018 in France ( levitation fest )
the rest of the band hated her, and treated her unfairly imo
well at least ricky
after watching this several times, as much as I love dan's style, it would have overwhelmed this kind of sound. he is original. anton seemed to want quick and constant and snappy....that's not dan -- thank god.....sorry dan. hope to see you again soon.
@@JosefRosam how do you know this? Mary, please..
Love this. If Neil Young had half a dozen love children and they formed a band they would sound like this.😀
This has got to be the best live video of the BJM there is out there. I saw them at the barrowlands in Glasgow around the same time this was filmed, and this video makes me feel like I’m back there again. So so good
You wern't even there, ya mad pube... It was all an illusion
What a great gift! Anton and the band are in top form.
Been a massive fan of BJM for many years now. I love the brilliant melodies they create and beauty of their music. I go into glide mode when I hear stuff like Forgotten Graves and Nevertheless. Just genius levels of music creation. Right up there as one my favourite bands of all time. Thanks for this video, it is perfect in every way.
my favorite band
Great concert, alaways nice to hear this songs, loving the drummer!
Thanks a lot. I saw them in Cologne in 2018, and the sound was abysmal. This one is a nice compensation.
TEACHABLE MOMENT “MY THIRST FOR GOOD MUSIC KEEPS ME HYDRATED”😊👍🏾
Ok - I’ve just discovered this because of a dust up at their Melbourne gig. These melodies are incredible. This is beautiful. If anyone can steer me into the right direction for more of their stuff, please comment. Thank you!! This is amazing!
I would probably go with the satanic majesty second request
Bravery Repetition and Noise is the album that made me fall in love with them 15 years ago.
Yeah - Yeah blew my mind!!!
i come back to this video at least once a month
The best band ever ❤
υπερβολή ρε φίλε
that's morphine. But BJM is probably following them very closely.

That‘s the moment when you were asked what‘s your favourite band...
I hope you'd entertain some differing viewpoints, at least be open to discussion on the subject. I have a hunch even Massacre members would be willing to add a few groups, such as the Beatles, Stones and The Band to the conversation...
I'm no musician but these guys have the best sound.....fucking magic!
Musical genius! Come to Toronto. Soul music for me personally, everybody gets different vibes from tunes but this guys are my jam. We Control the Jams
My work day soundtrack now! Amazing capture of the soul of this band with the guidance of Antone!
Getting Neil Young vibes from Anton in this concert in 2018. Love it. What a great live performance.
massive props to Anton.......he has surely tapped into the infinite intangible....
I can´t believe their heads standing that still during the concert. My heart instantly fell for u when i first hear u guys. Hope tu see u all playing live one more time at least, you really got nostalgia runing trought your veins.
Awesome. Such great camera as well. Really HD. Showed it to my 9 month old baby and she was mesmerised. Better than teletubbies.
Sublime. Sara Neidorf is awesome on the drums.
Agreed. Huge fan of Dan Allaire, but this is even better (no offense Dan). Anton knows what he's doing.
girl got the groove. improved all the songs. anton on a good day is just as good as it gets
This was the greatest gig I've ever been to. Thanks so much for recording and uploading so it can be revisited forever.
lucky you!!!
Fantastic show, beautifully shot, and the band is in fine form.
I recall sending an email to their management in 2019 offering my services as a multi-instrument and getting a reply to check back in a few months. And then the pandemic. C'est la vie.
Love your work, Anton! 💜
What a band!
Took a car, a ferry… Drove to London… Shot this 🎥
So glad you did…! 🎶
Meilleur groupe de tous les temps ❤️❤️❤️
Carrément d accord
oh man this is soooooooooooo good! I pray for the day when bjm and dandys tour together again.
The ending is AMAZING, the feedback, the drums.... crazy. Mesmerizing.
The feedback is on of the best part of seeing them live it’s so big it makes you feel like your high
@@defoperator7993 I would love to see them again. I finally saw them live in 2018. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Their sound live is so so so good.
I was amazed how good they still are. A lot of bands who have been doing this for a few decades lose their edge, they didn't.
great drummer lady
Who is it?

...yes, an on point drummer
The best 2 hours I've spent in many years! P.S. Hands down the best live version of Pish ever!
So glad i discovered this band
Truly amazing. Tops marks to the team who put this together. Seen myself in the crowd several times, such a brilliant gig and beautifully captured.
Twice I've listened to all of this, it's brilliant, well done & thanks for posting......
All amazing tracks on this one.. perfect atmosphere, people are really "in it".. and the performance of Drained is just absolute killer. Top notch!!
I hear this concert ever and ever again and ever and ever again i fall in deep love to this great music and feel love for life and feel happiness and feel myself when i was young and idealistic, thank you
BJM is very much a vibe.....a very good one
That is a quality recording of a quality gig by a quality band! So lucky to have been there too. Thanks
I was there with my partner too, what a fantastic night. This was only the second time I've ever had the honour of seeing BJM! So far...
There're a lot of bands that I like, but when you hear them in concert it's a big disappointment. BJM is amazing in concert. It's almost like the audience brings out the best in them. I never tire of their live recordings.
Dan Cross who is playing drums?
@@spagzs I do believe that's the wonderful Sara Neidorf
@@ElCID40000 She's ace too.
pictures & sound are incredible ! thank's for that !! this is Rad !!! BJM best band
I'd love to buy this as a recording. Hopefully, you'll release this as a live album. Absolutely phenomenal.
this is a fckin masterpiece! Take a new tour of South America please!
