    Just for the record, although I am 66 years old, you are the person who inspired me to experiment with astrophotography six years ago. Thanks for that! I also did a single shot of the Andromeda galaxy blind shooting with an 800 mm cheap canon lens and even I am pretty happy with my simple results. Thanks again for all your uplifting videos!

    What makes it so amazing is that the image you are seeing right there is 2.5M+ years old, it takes the Andromeda Galaxy's light 2.5M light years to reach earth.

    And just think...were on a collision course. Our 2 galaxies are racing towards each other and right before our sun moves into its red giant phase there will be a collision. The amazing thing is there is so much space between stars actual physical hits will be rare. The problem will be gravity ejecting planets suns and moons out of their orbits.

    • @_jonathanfilip_
      @_jonathanfilip_ Місяць тому

      I think it’s unwise to say there will absolutely without a doubt be a collision. There’s much about the universe we don’t understand and our current understanding of gravity fails on the cosmic scale and also at the micro scale thus resulting in a number of unanswered mysteries which are unexplainable using our human understanding. If the apparent collision is used by our current models of gravity then it is most likely a misleading conclusion

    • @topsunnn
      @topsunnn Місяць тому

      How does it fail in cosmic terms? As far as I know gravity does have an effect on cosmic size objects@_jonathanfilip_

Just with my daily DSLR, the mighty fift lensy, a tripod and an intervalometer at two a clock in the morning alone at the beach, it was GREAT! 150 pictures of 6 seconds combined - and that's now the background of my little MacBook Air that had to do all the work using Siril 🤩!

    I only got around to capturing Andromeda a few days ago even though I've been doing astrophotography for about 2 years, because my house usually blocks my view to the north and every time I set up my rig it was hidden from me!
    It really is a monster though, and difficult to get into the frame unless you have a large FOV..
