  • How to change the engine fuel filter on Mercedes-Benz. This is done on my E-Class W212 Diesel engine (OM651) but the procedure is mostly the same for other models.
    If you like to do it the recommend way from MB you should use a plier special made for the click clamps part-nr (171589003700) but I don't had any at home and the normal plier with a flat screwdriver worked flawlessly.
    And you should also order new click clamps, they should not be reused again, and should not be replaced with any other type of connector.

      That’s to crazy!!! Filter only about 80$ and is quite an easy work! But I guess you have the E350? Right that’s some more work but not to crazy!

Så tänkte fråga dig om du känner till nått sätt man kan göra det själv eller stämmer det som hedin bil säger att man måste ha dator till detta ?

  • @crazypict

    The hose clamps seem to be a bit hard to get hold of. What do you say? Can the hose clamps be refitted to the new filter? Or should you always mount new hose clamps on the filter? Is it possible to use regular hose clamps? Your videos with the part numbers shown in the video are brilliant!

    • @MB212

      They are bit tricky especially when not have the right tool. Google this part-nr 171589003700 that’s the mb recommend tool for the CLICK clamp. I usually reuse the old clamps but mb recommend to replace them always and not use any other clamp types.

    Is it possible to reuse the hose clamps, if you use the CLIC-R & CLIC Collar Hose Clip Pliers to remove them? I am trying later today and ordered some pliers for six pounds sterling.

    • @MB212
      @MB212  2 роки тому

      Yess you probably don’t have to worry I even reused these hose clamps and I did not have the right tools 🙈 But according to Mercedes manual they should be replaced that’s why I added it to the video. Probably because they not want to risk they start getting bad.

      @@MB212 I don't have my car's service schedule unfortunately so I'm not sure. Resources online say to change it every 90k km but from what I understood from the dealership to change it when the fuel pump fails since they don't sell the filter separately, the filter comes in one unit with the fuel pump and its 💰💰💰.

    Where's the damn egr. Lol

  • @launchbenz2242
    @launchbenz2242 2 роки тому

    This procedure isn't 100% correct.
    Before connecting the smaller fuel line,you should fill the filter with diesel using a vaccum pump.
    That will reduce the amount of air left into the fuel system.
    Too much air can cause damage to high pressure fuel pump. Shaving metals from pump will damage the injectors.
    High pressure fuel pump shouldn't run dry at all.

    • @MB212
      @MB212  2 роки тому +1

      The filter is automatically filled when you use the ignition, and also the air is pumped out! This is done according to mb documents. I guess you refer to older cars.
