Hi, danke für dein Feedback! Ich fliege die Protekt auch im Sommer bei hohen Temperaturen. Teilweise auch mit GoPro on top. Bisher hatte ich keine Probleme mit der Temperatur beim FC oder der AirUnit. Die AirUnit wird beim Aufzeichnen sehr heiß. Gerade mit Stabilisierung und in 4k. Da hatte ich zuletzt Probleme bei der Nazgul. Nimmst du mit der AirUnit in hoher Auflösung auf? Vielleicht strahlt diese dann zu viel Hitze an den Core ab?

Quads mit O3 habe ich bisher nicht im Bestand - ich denke unter schwierigen Lichtverhältnissen geht kein Weg am Dynamikbereich einer GoPro vorbei. Dann schlepp‘ ich sie eben mit und habe weniger Flugzeit. Wenn ich weiter weg will dann nehme ich 6- oder 7‘‘ aus dem Regal. Bin gespannt was DJI nach O3 bringt. Vielleicht bin ich dann wieder dabei 😉.
Hi, danke dir! Da gebe ich dir komplett recht - die GoPro ist leider auch durch die O3 nicht zu ersetzen! Bin mittlerweile auch wieder auf jedem Quad mit einer GoPro unterwegs. Die Bildqualität ist im Vergleich zur Vista spürbar besser - aber "nur dafür" alle Quads umzurüsten lohnt sich nicht. Kostet ja doch einiges die AirUnit... Einmal war ich froh, dass ich die O3 an Board hatte und diese mit aufgezeichnet hat, da meine GoPro versagt hat (Aufnahme einfach während des Flugs beendet). Bin auch gespannt was (vermutlich bald) kommt von DJI 😉
@@flipsfpv ja, typische FPV-Probleme 😂👍. Habe mich auch einmal schwarz geärgert als sich die Gopro mitten in einem LR Flug mangels Batterie abgeschaltet hat. Habe danach die Laufzeit aller Batterien für die Gopro getestet und dokumentiert. Alle Zubehör-Akkus jetzt nur noch für kürzere Flüge. Wenn es auf LR geht, kommen nur noch die Original-Akkus rein. Teuer aber leider gut. Wie so oft … 😅👋👋
Hi, I have no problems with heat inside the Protek frame and the O3 AirUnit. I have heard that some people have problems, yes. For me it just works, even in the summer. To access the sd card, I installed a usb-c cable with a 90 degree connector to the airunit. The cable goes through the frame to the front where I can connect a second usb cable to access the airunit and the sd card.

Hi, glad you like it! Yes I had to cut the connector cable and solder it to another connector. I used the original connector cable from the O3 and the old cable from the vista. You can see the wiring in the video at 1:11
Good question 🤔 I didn't think about the screws before your comment. After some research the O3 has M1.6 screws. The M2 screws from the Protek worked for me. I think the (plastic?) thread is destroyed now😑 My naive thought was that DJI paid attention to compatibility here. For me it works, but I would not recommend it, if you want to use the airunit in another build any time ✌🏻
Hi, I have frame version 1.2 - I think the frame version 1.4 is already prepared for the O3 cam and Air-Unit according to the iflight website. So you can follow this guide, but don't have to print the custom mount 👍
Freestylen ist möglich mit der Protek, macht mir aber ehrlich gesagt überhaupt keinen Spaß. Propwash ist spürbar. Nehme dazu lieber die Nazgul. Die Avata bin ich leider noch nie geflogen.
@@flipsfpv Nazgul Evoque F5 V2? Von der schwärmen viel, war bei der Avata anfangs auch so dann kam die Ernüchterung. Wobei die Nazgul Evoque F5 V2 gibt es jetzt schon etwas länger.
@@pixeldude1335 bin mit der Evoque V1 mit Vista unterwegs. Was ich so gesehen und gelesen habe ist von der Flugperformance nicht viel um. Aber die O3 Bildübertragung ist auf jeden Fall viel besser 👍🏻
@@flipsfpv Nice video! Hast Du für BF 4.4.x presets verwendet? wenn ja welche? habe meine mal wieder aus dem Schrank genommen und mal von analog auf vista umgebaut und überlege gerade auch noch BF auf den aktuellen Stand zu heben.
@@maetthum Danke! ✌Ich habe vor dem Update von BF immer ein Backup gemacht und das als Preset verwendet. Nach dem Update auf die 4.4.1 war einiges nicht mehr gesetzt (u.a. die Motor Settings) und ich habe dort überall die Defaults verwendet. Es gibt noch ein Preset für die 4.1 oder 4.2 für die Protek, das kann man gut als Grundlage nutzen. Nur die Rates habe ich individuell: ROLL, PITCH, YAW: Medium sensitivity: 190; Max. Rate: 800; Exponentially 0.60
@Kumar Deepam Thank you for your feedback! I simply put the antenna in the frame at the back. It is not fixed. Unfortunately, the antenna cable is too short to build a proper mount. Maybe I'll try it once with antennas from other suppliers. So far it works well and the range is very good!
Hi @Ariefjoe800 the camera fits perfectly without the custom mount. Unfortunately I had problems with the stabilized video (EIS) without the custom mount. Therefore I would say, it is better with the custom mount if you want to use stabilization for your videos 🎥 Otherwise I would prefer without the custom mount, because the camera is more protected inside the original frame if the drone crashes 🤕
Thanks! Yes, I was skeptical that the antenna would work well in the frame. Since the Protek is not a long range quad, I only tested it up to a range of around 800-900m. So far, the bit rate has been constant at around 25mbit/s - regardless of the antenna orientation. The image quality is much better than before with the Vista 👍🏻
@@flipsfpv Thank you for this answer. Do you know if you could plug other antennas on the O3 such as TrueRC for example ? If the answer is yes, as there are two connectors, which one do you plug ? I can't find any answer on the internet about this
You can use other antennas. I.e. if you have a look at the iFlight drones with O3 airunit you can see they have two antennas with SMA connector. You just need two adapters from I-PEX to SMA. And some kind of mounting for two antennas. I don't know any other antenna with two I-PEX connectors so far... Never power up the airunit with only one connector-port used! It will destroy the airunit!
How did you screw in your screws without them pushing the plate off of the air unit? I tried screwing them in and it would always begin to separate from the housing of the air unit?
As mentioned in another comment, I didn't know that the O3 AirUnit uses M1.6 screws. But it works for me with the Protek M2 screws by holding the top of the AirUnit in place. I think the plastic thread of the AirUnit is damaged now. But I didn't use much force to get the M2 screws in...

How’s about air cooling in the protek frame? Have you ever got overheating of the O3? How do you get to card slot thru the standard frame holes?

Wow thanks for this video..i just thinking to swap from dji air unit to O3 since its fit perfectly. Its good to reduce wieght and no more heavy gopro.

Wie ist das Teil zum Freestylen? Suche gerade Avata Ersatz. Wobbel und propwash sollten sehr gering sein, ist bei der Avata leider nicht so.

The vibrations are caused because the o3 airunit has to be soft mounted, hope this helps you

what esc frequency do you use?
I'm using 48kHz. Switched from 24kHz to 48kHz before creating the mount. Didn't solve the problem with the shaking image...

I don't notice any significant difference in performance. The props are a bit quieter than the originals.
