I am a landscaper, others professional contractors that know me. They talk me they trade their trucks for Chevy because my Duramax with allison transmission already proof that is the best . I am ready and waiting for my new Chevrolet with duramax diesel, a few friends waiting to buy my truck. I have luxury cars but I prefer going to my meetings in my truck I feel safety and countable. 😊👍👏

The rear "splash guard" is not a splash guard, it's an aero spat for Aerodynamics. The front bumper vents are called air curtains, for aerodynamics.

I have a 2014 z71 and love it. It has a 6 inch lift and 35's. It has never missed a beat. I love Chevrolet but this new model looks like a cross between a Ford 150/Toyota Tundra and a few others mixed in. They had it together to be different on the last 2014-2018 GMC/Chevy models. This new style does not make my heart beat as the last style did. Not yet anyway....

Nice review, really in-depth. Thank you. Seems like Chevy really listened to their customers. I own the 2014 Silverado 4x4 LTZ crew (5.3L) and MANY of the things I don't like about it have been corrected. 1) canted steering wheel 2) cubbie hole on the dash 3) dashboard layout 4) dual exhaust 5) bed tie downs 6) battery access. Overall, the look inside is better, but still kinda bland. I may trade up in a few years...they would need to improve a few more things by then. The interior still doesn't look "finished" to me. Is there a "sport grip" steering wheel option like on the Colorado ZR2? How about their DSV shocks? Overall, the 2019 is a step in the right direction, but still quite not there yet. Thanks again...well done video. My next truck with def be the 6.2L or may go with the HD.
Chris DIYer the bean counters hampered this interior (as usual). It looks pretty bad for this truck that I bet costs $50k
I also like the fact that they moved the front wheel up thus creating a longer wheelbase. This shortens the hood allowing for better visibility and creates more cab space. One of the most annoying things, for me anyway, about the 14-18 models is the long tall hood. I find it's difficult to see over it when driving.

I had a 15 and this new 19 is a nice update. Nice to see chevy updating things though.
Something as simple as running boards makes this truck look more desirable.... without them makes the truck looks plain. Like a fleet truck
As an LT it would need to be added as an upgrade.
I just leased the LD z71 version of this. It has a regular key start and a few less features than what was in the video.
I'll have to find one.
NOTE..... you can push on each light " on the light its self" to turn off and on... you don't need to use the on off button

Coming here from a RAM camp. Didn't like the new RAM gen outside, neither the huge laggy ipad inside... Chevy has caught the golden ratio with this truck, it should become a market leader!
They have made a LOT of improvements over outgoing model.
Chevy finally has curved wheel wells instead of the square ones.
You can fit 35's without a 6" lift now hahahah

The cluster looks very basic.... the interior is pretty much the same few minor tweaks / Push Start. Ac in the rear
James Perez same with ram, few changes headlights small change design around airvents, same taillights design same rear end design, 2015- current f150 different compared to 2009-2014 f150. 2019 Silverado different than 2014-2018 Silverado

Thumbs up for Chevy for sticking with the V8 long live to the V8, dumb ford for using boring v6.
Just ignore the fact that ford offers a 5.0 liter V8. Also Chevy is putting a four cylinder engine in their trucks. Most likely that 4 cylinder will function the same as the 2.7 liter ford offers as standard equipment.

That boring v6 has more power and torque than that inefficient v8
robert vallejos look you said it, it’s boring, life’s too short to drive boring cars, those two cylinders make a huge difference, and even in terms of fuel economy Chevy has DFM. So fuck Ford.
some nice improvements...but I'll take the great price I just got on my end of year 2018 LT Z71 and only be a little jealous of keyless entry and heated seats/steering.

So... i noticed the glove box has a key lock. does the truck come with the key considering the key fob is now the key(thanks to the push to start feature)?
There is a physical key integrated in the key fob, you push a button on the bottom of the fob and a small key pops out.
why is there a "splash guard" in the front of the rear wheel? Isn't the debris all being kicked up behind the wheel?

I like the bed and tailgate and the headlights, the insides aren't that much different from the insides of my 2018 except for the vents in the back I like that to, but our interior needs a big change it's to boring
Chevy is known for being the old reliable truck. Inside is a bit lacking but its way better than the outgoing model.

I love GM. I drive a 2003 with 205k on the clock. I don't think they will have any trouble selling these, but to me it missed the mark badly. For one, at 100 yards, you can barely distinguish this from the new Ram or Tundra. Seems like they tried to blend into the pack, rather than leading it. I do not even need to know what the price tag is on a fully optioned crew cab, but I would bet on 70k. I like some new trucks more than others, but I really just feel like they all are a bundle of computers, wrapped in plastic. None of them seem to have character or toughness anymore. Just my opinion obviously. My next "new" truck will probably be a 2008 or so, so I won't have to worry about driving one of these for a long time!

I wanted the chev y having had one before . I like a reg cab but the inside was too small. i was to close to the door when it was closed. The truck otherwise was exactly what I wanted . Reg cab v6 chrome and plow package . The price was also good ,I'm sorry I got the Ford . I Was thinking of getting it even though it was uncomfortable and I didn't fit.

Josh Gayle if you look when he has the hood up. Half the engine is under the dash.. so they design it with shorter hood and fenders.

Lots of misuse of space with this truck. If the mirrors are no longer there, why is there still a plastic panel there??? Just make the window bigger and improve visibility. Lazy. The blank button below the screen pisses me off. Have yet to see a trim with that button assigned to something. The blank switches with no assignments, the blank chunks of plastic where outlets would be if you spent another $10K lol. Just remove all that shit. Chevy has always reminded you that you have a lower trim by making sure you know where features WOULD be.
I agree my biggest gripe is when manufactures leave blank spaces . At least make a small cubbie or storage shelf.
I own a Sierra and never had any problems but I have to say the new design and materials look cheap in my opinion! Always disliked Ram but I got to say that the new 2019 Ram has them all beat! The interior is the best by far and the outside design is way better! Ram is where it’s at in 2019! Just my opinion

Tbh... I liked the previous version of the Silverado.. this version for some reason just feels cheaper and more plastic...
It has more soft touch materials in it but still a lot of plastic.
I commend Chevrolet for the innovative changes on exterior and interior style and design led lights, aerodynamics bumpers, mirrors, key entry etc. This Silverado LT is an awesome Chev product. Walden Smith the interior is basically the same as the out going model...what’s innovative about that? The exterior looks good, but the interior is just ok.. nothing special. Now if it had the ram interior, then I’d agree with you !

I didn't know they have a way to turn off the auto stop. HATE that system. Also very scared of the new AFM system they use. Otherwise I like it

As of right now the Chevy dealers i work with are only ordering the 5.3 and 6.2 V8's

These trucks are junk. My 2019 Silverado 1500 LTZ is 6 weeks old with 850 miles on it and I already have that infamous hard shift issue. Will not buy a GM truck again. Very disappointed

I have 20 years of data to back me up. Do you know how to use Google? Look at the sales figures. Reliability figures. Resale value. It's all there. Drive what you like, you bought it with your money, but facts are facts.Just because they improved in the last 10 years doesn't mean they are not still last.
I hope you enjoy your RAM though, hopefully the improvements continue into 2019. For the price they charge for these trucks, they should all be rock solid and last 300k, but sadly that isn't the case. No one ever wins these truck arguments anyway. You like what you like and no one is going to change your mind. I was thinking of my neighbor with his 2016 Ram Rebel that just got the top end rebuilt at 58k, but hopefully his was an anomaly. He paid about 53k for it, and got offered about 31k for trade in, and he is singing the blues. Wasn't trying to be a "big bad chevy man". I dont care for this model, and if I was going to buy any new truck right now, it would be an F150 by far.
