The Kia Sportage was recently voted the UK's most reliable SUV. I have always found that diesel engines suited these types of vehicles over gasoline and were the most reliable. My advice to any new buyer is to go for the diesel engine every time !
Recently, in the states, it was found that most Kia’s and Hyundais do not come with engine immobilizers, making them incredibly easy to steal, which spurred the whole “Kia boy” situation.
Well to me, i have 3 Toyotas and a Lexus. No headache. No extra cash out that much jst service. The 3rd Gen Fortuner is my next target, hopefully the reveal soon.
I have a 16 Tahoe with 60,000 miles and aside from recently replacing the battery for $150 and oil changes every 7,000 mile that I did myself there has zero issues.
Many manufacturers had problems because of the pandemic but overall most are reliable and great vehicles. When buying a new car a vehicle service contract can be bought pretty cheap. Its worth it if your unsure about the new vehicles out there today
Volkswagen is solid, the issue is they sold a hugh amount of cars, so there are more issues of course. relative faults per car are extrem low for volkswagen
Best deal for your money is any GM full size SUV/truck/or van made between 2000-2005 with any LS engine. May need a transmission rebuild around 200-250k, but the engines are solid. Especially the 6.0. New vehicles are way too overpriced for what you get. I mean.... How much time do you really spend in your car? Your better off paying cash for something older and either saving that monthly payment or buy more house.

@@creolebunny1192 it’s actually not. Just have to spend some time looking and you will find a low priced below average mileage car. Last May I bought a 2011 Mazda cx7 2.5 fwd 5 speed auto with 152,000 kms for under $10,000 Canadian. One owner, all dealer serviced. It now sits at 170,000 kms and all I had to do was an O2 sensor and the brakes. My wife and I went looking for a cheap car for her. We found a 2011 Honda Fit for $10,000, again all dealer serviced right up until it was traded in at the end of September. The Honda dealership replaced the suspension, the brakes, the indicator lights and brake lights, all out of their pocket. The only thing they didn’t do was repair the damage to the tailgate. I have found many cheap suvs for around $7000 Canadian with 120,000 kms on the clock. Most of them have no body rust or damage and they were dealership serviced. Even looking at 2004 models you can find them for around $5000 with low mileage and full service history.
