I like how California represents so many things at once, if there is a state that represents the USA that is California, from the northeast, the south, the midwest and the rest of the Pacific
I think thats what attracts me to california the most, im waaaay on the other end in virginia, though i love what California represents to the country, not so much of what its become
San Bernardino is so accurate. Went there once for a rave and me and my friend got our phones stolen within 3 hours of being there. Not only that, but then a group of drunk ragers pissed all over the floor. Someone in the crowd obviously didn’t like this and a fight broke out. Crazy place. Good parties though
When I used to live in the bay area for a bit, I remember I was doing deliveries up there and a shootout just casually happened at a liquor store across the street from where I was chilling. Such a lovely place.
went there one time like two years ago because MCR was playing there. as we drove through we were hit with one of the worst city smells I’ve experienced in my LIFE, and I’m from fucking the sacramento area. when we got in security sucked ass and acted like they didn’t know how to search a purse. it stunk so bad and there was just trash EVERYWHERE, genuinely was so relieved to leave that town after the show lmao (concert was awesome though)

I lost my voice halfway through the show because I was cheering and singing along so much. the merch was good too, I ended up getting two of them even though I was way too broke for that at the time haha hopefully they tour in the area again so you can see them! I lost hope of ever seeing them in high school since they didn’t reunite, but then as soon as I was out of there they did! it made my little emo heart happy for sure.
@@ds-wu5eu I'm from the Central Coast and yes SLO is more than that, but you could also use that image to give people an impression of what the area is also like. Just this year didn't they wreak a hallway of some building? I mean for some of these like SLO and others they haven't even mentioned agriculture in the central coast, which is how some of these cities were able to grow over the years and they still have ties to agriculture. This might also be why a lot of people outside of California don't realize all the food that is produced in California. They might think it comes from the Midwest or something. Which might also surprise people when they see towns like SLO and how it's different then what they expect parts of California to be like.
Although I would agree that SLO is a "college town" it's not mainly that. Pismo, Avila, Morro Bay, A-town, Templeton, Paso, are all part of the SLO family. Plus St. Fratty's was done by UCSB students AT Cal Poly.
