hello Flossy I have only fished with a rod and reel, i watched some men doing it in the bhamas ocean they had to be careful to watch for sharks and barasccuda who would take their fish away from thrm. the whitering of the speared fish will draw the prey species to them. It was tough enough to being in a fish caught and even get a whole one, so I never tried it. i was glad you can identify ediable mushrooms. that is a talent as well. wishing you good adventures.
Congrats on pole spearing those fish! Rockfish make great tacos (use corn tortillas). Furikake seasoning w/fish on rice also good. Those oyster mushrooms were gorgeous! Loved your hearty laugh. Barred owl calls sound like "Who cooks for you?"
